Can’t get rid of tracks on my hands.
I don’t still IV opiates right now (have been clean a while for the moment) but I still have syringes and was given a saline solution by my doctor who said to inject that if I have urges to use and hopefully that will help. It has, but as using needles tends to do, it’s leaving tracks. Nothing extreme but they’re on my hands because I can’t hit my arms anymore from my useage before. This is a problem for work. I use a new one each time and try not to reuse them (if I do it’s only once by accident). Does anyone have any ways to help combat this?
•Trying to go in different places each time (which is hard because once you find a place that works it’s hard not to just go straight there especially if another spot isn’t a garuntee)
•Using vitamin E oil to help scarring where there’s scarring
•Using an antibiotic gell/cream (Neosporin basically just not name brand) on fresher tracks that aren’t scars and need to just heal
• This thing called “Bruise Remedy” which is supposed to help with bruises and spider veins (so I figured it wouldn’t hurt to put it on as well and see if it would make the coloring less obvious)
I already know about trying to cover them with makeup but I don’t have any makeup that will really cover them, and imo having makeup on your hands is super obvious in a customer service job plus it comes off. I have “swatches lipsticks” over them or written in sharpie a “list of things I need to do” over them and that works okay but I feel like it brings attention to it. And I work around food so having band aids on both my hands all the time isn’t gonna fly forever. I’ve made it work for now because I’ve told them my hands got cut up with glass when I totaled my car (I mean they kinda did and I did total my car so it holds up) but it’s getting to the point where those “cuts” should be healed by now.
(I’ve been using my wrist area lately which hurts more but works better and lets my hands heal. Plus I just wear like a bracelet/scrunch over it and it’s super easy to cover with or without sleeves but it’s not a permanent solution)
Anyone have any suggestions for someone who can’t shoot into their arms and can’t have tracks on their hands?
