Today I completed my first official 5k race ever. The outcome didn't turn out how I liked it, but I did cross the finish line strong. My AirPods were dead so this one def tested my runners mentality. Sadly I didn't make the "under 30 minutes club" and just missed it by 2 minutes. This is just beginning of my running career so I have many more races to bounce back from this one. I learned a lot from this race like "not starting off fast at the begging", areas where I can improve on, and not bring dead AirPods for a 30 minute run lol I'm glad I can say I finish 5k race!
I'm really glad I picked up this running hobby as it has been something I wanted to do years ago. This 2023 year has been all about change to become better person and to set goals for myself. I wanted to change my health and fitness lifestyle this year. It has always been a constant battle for me ever since I was in Highschool and throughout the years. Sophomore year was the toughest for me as I wasn't happy with my ideal body image that I became very bulimic. My mom def was suspicious about my weight lost but I was never honest with her about it. ( sorry mom lol) It def got me to that body image I wanted but it wasn't good for me to do. In 2016 I invested myself in CrossFit and I benefited from it as it help show me the way to a good healthy fitness life style. In 2020 the pandemic came and that's just when I stopped caring and let myself go. Probably the worse decision I made as I got older. In early 2023 I went on trip home and I didn't like how I look in any of the photos I took which gave me the drive to get back into fitness. I'm very proud of how far I came and I'm excited to see where this new fitness journey of mine will go.
