dubby drummy meteore. kinda annoying that the initial delay line is fixed, not super useful on rhythmic sources but hey, it's made for guitarists.
In which I misunderstand the size knob, because ofc if the delay line length was changing, the delay would repitch duhduhh. still nice tones.

I've decided I want to start a semi-public journal. Tour stuff, gear stuff, process things. We'll see if it sticks. I write this inaugural entry from Philadelphia.
Last night I performed my debut USA live show at Making Time festival. I lost my voice a couple days ago after DJing at Bossa Nova Civic Club in Bushwick, the good people of Fort Mifflin helped me find it again and so naturally I berated them for having resurrected me. I'm still tired and shaking off a very irritating cough, but grateful to be over the USA Immigration hurdle.
I'm staying with sound mangler extraordinaire Morgan Garett in his home at the vertex of three adjoining neighbourhoods; Port Richmond, Kensington, and Fishtown. I woke up with a hankering for diner food and so we ventured further into Fishtown for breakfast, each ordering a demonymic variant on the regional staple dish 'Scrapple'. The OG is essentially a corned pork loaf battered and deep fried. In Fishtown they make it with fish.. no shit. Spiced with turmeric among other aromatics and served atop sliced tomatoes, the result is almost like a deep fried kedgeree loaf? epic.
I don't usually have downtime to enjoy a festival after playing, and get anxious being in crowds but I'm going to push against these tendencies because YHWH Nailgun are playing tonight. Morgan's just introduced me to a band called Crash Course in Science, legit post punk stuff from the classic era, who are also performing tonight and i might continue to destroy my already crumbling sleep schedule to see.
Gear Talk: I had a pedal shipped to a family member here cuz the US pedal market is crazy cheap. Caroline "Meteore". it's exactly the kind of thing i've been hoping to find for a while. It uses three Bucket Brigade Delay chips stacked together into what I've recently found out is called a Belton Brick. Super lofi digital delay lines modulating and feeding into each other to form a dark and splashy reverb. I haven't had chance to play with it yet so I'm gonna spend my afternoon wobblin my noggin with that one.
