IS TROPICAL - Hummingbird
In their follow-up to last year’s “Calling Out”, their first material in four years, London’s IS TROPICAL proceeds with single “Hummingbird”. Riding through the bassy rhythms of its grooving, psychedelic funk, “Hummingbird” is an upbeat invigoration of interjecting textures. An easing vocal calm weaving between the alternating textures of its staccato delivery and rattling drums, the track is gives the semblance of an underlying serenity yet is anything but, as the band explains:
‘Do not be fooled by the composed, calm exterior. Though visually as still as a Hummingbird, my frustration also beats 80 times per second.’
