American Tragedy

This part sucks, for a thousand and one reasons. One of them is, others don’t get to see how you treat me & how you talk to me…Everyone finds out the situation, and immediately makes their assumptions. Assumptions I don’t know how to handle. I really don’t know who you’ll be upon release. But I do know this: you always push me to grow, you build my confidence & believe in me. Simple ways of even catching me when I call myself stupid, and making a point to say I shouldn’t talk about myself like that. All those small things, and big things have helped me mentally grow & have given me the strength to continue with my mental health journey. You check on little things, like if I’ve eaten, if I’ve had time to decompress, and genuinely want to know how my day is. You’ve pushed me to grow in so many other areas. And never let me forget to continue to progress in life. Even if it remains friends, these things have meant so much to me. Even if it’s only some people come into your life for specific reasons.
