stuffed with stuff

Ordered a new custom leather folio for my current journal system, but I still need to wait a couple more weeks for it to arrive. For now I'm "testing" the setup using one of my early DIY notebook projects: an A6-sized crochet folio with some recycled ribbon.

The "inserts" are a pocket Moleskine with dotted pages (for my daily freeform writing and junk journaling) and a 2026 Papemelroti pocket planner (for important dates and appointments).

Also improvised a file folder from chocolate boxes and packaging tape to store my on-the-go journaling papers, stickers, ephemera, etc.

A lot of my collection is still in storage, but so far I can confirm the Key Collection school uniform mostly fits the Nyssa Bizarre Nightmare dolls fine. At worst the sleeves are a bit long and the skirt a bit short. The shoes are also too big, but it's pretty much a given most blind box BJDs only fit the shoes they originally came with.

Another Papemelroti pocket planner all wrapped up! Because sometimes all your journal ecosystem needs is a little one-dollar kraft paper pamphlet.

And yes, I already have both my 2026 and 2027 planners all lined up. (For 2027 I'm just reusing a discounted 2021 planner since they share the same calendars.)

The official Jollibee bag charm does have some questionable quality control, but hey it was only the local equivalent of about 7 US dollars. (You'd think they'd add more variants or characters given the name recognition, but that's my toy collector brain talking.)

It's hilarious seeing so many restaurants and food shops hop on the Labubu/plush charm bandwagon with varying degrees of cuteness. This will be a fascinating trend bubble to look back on, not unlike the Starbucks planner sparking a succession of stationery copycats here years back.

ngl I'm kinda tempted by the Krispy Kreme donuts and Chowking halo-halo if only for the novelty. A shame I missed the window for the limited edition SM supermarket turon charm™️.

So far the journaling supplies I've used the most when traveling have been:

scissors,

a flat blade/box cutter for removing labels (I have a small swiss army knife with both a knife and mini scissors),

a small roll of tape,

a date stamp (get one of those self-inking stamps for convenience),

glue stick,

2-3 pens in different colors,

stickers/magazine cutouts just for random decoration (my system for these is a bit complicated)

Now I'm starting another notebook from my "too nice to use" pile. This one is from Cognitive Surplus (they have a lot of cool science-themed stationery and housewares) and has dot grid pages, though I think they discontinued this particular size.

Just ordered some official Quezon movie merch: got the postcards, tote bag, and the "You Can't Lose With Quezon" campaign pin (my personal favorite).

She was one of the few dolls from the latest wave of BJDs I've wanted to get lately - one because darker skinned dolls are sorely underrepresented in the space, two because she's got one of the few outfits that's not a cottagecore/lolita-inspired look. She does have the ubiquitous idol-esque legwarmers though.

I'm not too mad at the rash of blind boxes coming out in a taller scale - probably closer to 1:8 compared to the early 1:12 dolls. She does have a wire running from torso to knees, and since it's looped around the arm elastics it's not easily removable.

One of my minor quibbles with this doll is the top, which was tricky to put on due to how tight it feels. What's worse is the zipper band doesn't seem to have a real retaining pin besides just felt, which could wear down faster from frequent play.

She does come with the classic Bonnie rabbit ears, though you have to install the head magnets yourself with putty. I kept them off for now because I like her human look as is.

I just crocheted a mesh panel using some navy cotton thread in my bottomless yarn stash, then suspended it from hooks on my wall (since I moved my pin banners to a different part of the room). Then I hung the keychains from the panel with paper clips (the ones that didn't come with a spring-loaded or lobster clasp keyring, anyway)

What's funny is only half of these were from places I've actually been to. The rest were from friends and relatives who've gone on way more adventures than me.

Went with the Sesame Street and Pepsi themes. There were also We Bare Bears, Lilo and Stitch, Care Bears and Cheetos (?) pins, but I kept it to just the two sets for now.

I also found a local seller with these pins inspired by old-school jeepney signboards, which are pretty neat.
