You know, as far as Michael Crichton goes...what a hack he was, wasn't he? But when it came to concepts he was second to none, and "Congo" is no slouch, it just happened to be executed by a bunch of hamfisted oafs.

It's still heaps and bounds endless levels of fun, which is to be expected since we have charismatic guys like Tim Curry and Ernie Hudson speaking the dumbest dialogue, but with such sincerity it's impossible for me to hate it.

Is it a bad movie? Oh yeah. Is it a boring movie? Not at all! Absolute guilty pleasure that I'd re-watch whenever I feel bad or whenever I'm in the middle of a hangover.

We all need movies like that.

18. AVP - Aliens VS Predator (2004)

In this commentary, Jamesy and Leafy nerd out about the movie that Sigourney Weaver didn't want to see the light of day, which also allegedly killed the project that James Cameron and Ridley Scott were working on (thank you "Freddy VS Jason"!).

In this one Leafy talks about the comic book mini-series published by Dark Horse in the 1980's, while Jamesy rambles on about how this movie's really clever and smart (no guys for real! Squawk!), all while Paul W.S. Anderson directs one of the most expensive fan films in history (until "Alien Romulus" came out).

This commentary was recorded on December 2025 so some of our observations may be a little out of date regarding current events, but we had a pretty good time all the same and just enjoyed this very schlocky sci-fi action flick. We hope you guys enjoy it too.

Seriously.

It is an atrocious movie, but the concept is so mental and they do so much with it I'm willing to excuse how bad it is. It shoots through the moon and managed to come out of the other end being just fantastic.

We're not dead!

Jamesy is just taking a while to work through his queue, and he's been unable to update us for a while. I like to make fun of that feather duster all the time, but even I'll admit he's taken way more work than he can peck his way through.

He's going to turn into a roasted turkey by the time he's done.

But yeah, don't worry, the blog is very much not dead, we're just chilling in the void of ideas, and we'll have updates for you guys during the Summer, since this year we're gonna be doing "Summerween"!

It's been a wild year with lots of horror, existential and explicit, so we may be reviewing some of those for you.

Commission for fernin. · - · - · - · - · - · - · - · - · - · - · Fernin and I came up with a concept for a Steel Type Eeveelution called Raytheon, and discussing ideas for how she'd worked we figured out you could upload different programs into her and change her type, similar to how Silvally works. Since Raytheon was military-based, we thought each version of her would cover different types of military attire. Result? We have the entire Raytheon Industrial Complex! Her friends call her Rick. I should clarify I've not watched "The Wild Robot" yet, but I was thinking about that movie the entire time I was drawing this one. It must've been the vines, and the...ahem, "circles".

We thought her Electric Type form would have access to hologram tech for her attacks, and tried not to go too crazy with the yellow. I enjoyed putting some silly easter eggs in those holograms.

17. Twister (1996) Audio Commentary

In this commentary, Jamesy and Leafy team up to talk about this science-action procedural movie about studying tornadoes, and also bash on its legacy sequel released almost thirty years after the fact.

In this commentary, Leafy crushes the science while Jamesy loses his mind with the cinematography, craftsmanship and technology on display, while trying not to go too hyper with the more comedic bits.

This one was an unusual commentary for us, since we went really hard on the science and the nature of tornadoes and a bit less on the actual movie itself, but we hope you guys are down for the ride all the same.

Hey there guys!

Sorry it took a while to make one of these, been busy with work and other things! I hope you're all well over there, wherever you are, doing your thing, being happy and not hurting anybody. Lets get the bullet points rolling.

COMMISSIONS.

Still handling the queues, and yes that's queues in plural, as in more than one, and more than three. I have four queues, and after a very busy May I've managed to fully clear one of them. I plan on clearing most of two of them before the month is over.

I'm swamped with work, which is good, I love swamps. As a result of this I've not opened commissions officially yet. I wanna open them in September, but it's looking pretty damn busy to say the least.

MAY 2026.

Busy, busy, busy month. I've got hit with a couple of unexpected expenses but nothing too dramatic or worrying.

In total, I finished 26 pictures, combining alternate versions, flat colors, personal projects, and Movie Slate updates. I may have a backlog when it comes to making uploads, heheh.

BRONYSCOT 2026.

Got to draw something for myself, for funsies. · - · - · - · - · - · - · - · - · - · - ·

A few weeks ago I won an auction set up by artist Lysergide, said auction was Blaziken themed and among them was Precious. She's based on that chicken that is entirely black, I think it's called Ayam Cemani, and I fell in love with her. I don't know why, her design tickles my brain in all the right places.

So I bid, and somehow ended up winning. I was the only one who bid for her, so I'll do my darnest to draw more of her, even if it's only very sporadically. I only asked Lyser for one change to her original design. Can you guess what it was?

So, here's Precious! What do you guys think? I'm actually super happy I got a new character, she's just lovely.
