culinary and the Ace Hardware Grill
expert the question we get is I just
bought a Traeger how do I make the best
ribs we always view our grills our
smokers as an extension of our kitchen
and what we love about this Traeger is
its versatility let's get cooking I'm a
st. louis-style spare rib guy I like
Rec Tec vs Traeger Pellet Grill
that flavor a little bit more meat
really for me is that true rib flavor
we're going to be using our joint grub
which is one of our locally produced

rubs we salad Ace Hardware one of the
things when it comes to the ribs is I
want to get a nice coating of rub on
here we're going to be doing the three
to one cooking method which means three
hours of smoke two hours of wrap and one
hour of finishing so we have our Traeger
sat on the smoked setting and now what
we're going to do we gave it about five
minutes to heat up and get the smoke
going let's go ahead and get these ribs
at it in there so I like to do the ribs
first time in with the bone side facing
down we shut our lid make sure that
smoke stays in there and we'll see you
in three hours all right so we're back
out at our Trager wood pellet grill we
have been waiting patiently for three
hours while this smoked to take our
first peek at those ribs so there you
can see we've got a really nice smoke
flavor to it we've got a nice caramel
crust going on now we're going to get
ready for our two hour process remove it
onto a foil sheet take a little bit of
my barbecue sauce we're going to use our
5280 culinary high altitude barbecue
sauce I'll wrap it I like to fold those
ends in a little bit and basically what
we're doing is we're making a nice
little steamer for our ribs so we'll set
Rec Tec vs Traeger Pellet
them back on the grill we'll adjust our
temperature accordingly bringing it up
to that 275 range we'll see you back in
two hours now it's time to unwrap them
and finish them off so we unwrap them
carefully they are going to be hot we
want to make sure that we don't get any
so carefully we'll take our tongs and
we're going to lift our ribs out and
slide them back onto our grill for that
final one which is the finishing process
the moment we've been waiting for we've
got 15 minutes left on these ribs this
is the time we like to add the barbecue
sauce I love to put the sauce on right
in that last little bit gets it to glaze
really nice it doesn't burn makes my
ribs come out perfect so here we go
three hours of smoke two hours of wrap
in the hardest hour ever waiting for
these guys to finish but our Trager
definitely delivered some gorgeous st.
