however

the prevalence of always having reader be this super dainty, hyper-feminine, bubbly and almost ditsy or air headed and “innocent” woman is so interesting. especially when reader is being placed in a role or career that is seen as typically “feminine” (i.e nurse)

of course there’s nothing wrong with being any of these things by any means but i do think there’s something to say when the female character is positioned in a very stereotypical role within a f/m relationship, oftentimes with an age gap AND power imbalance that commonly culminates in the female character being character as submissive — sexually and socially.

femininity is beautiful, being “girly” and cutesy is great, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with being on the softer side but i think that it’s important to pay attention to the why behind these choices especially as writers.

we are nothing but a reflection of our society, therefore the rising number of postings where the female lead falls into gender stereotypes that make her seem fragile, extremely 'femenine' and 'girly' is a reflection of the rising far right policies we are experiencing world wide.
