“I almost lost you.”

“I know, Polnareff.”

“I almost lost you and I wouldn’t have known what to do with myself if I had.”

“I know, Polnareff.”

“I almost-”

Abdul put one finger to the other’s lips. “Jean, don’t you think this is a touch dramatic?”

Jean Pierre Polnareff took a good long look around them. Everywhere he looked there were neat beds and tasteful but affordable lampshades as well as couples looking for pillows to deck out their new apartments. In a bright blue and yellow logo above the exit was the word ‘IKEA’ in all capitals.

“The place is a damn labyrinth, Abdul.” He said, almost offended. “It’s not my fault you decided to go off on a hunt for a mirror without even so much as telling me-”

“I did tell you! You weren’t even listening, were you?”

The Frenchman crossed his arms over his chest and huffed loudly. “Well, how am I supposed to know in this racket?”

Abdul tutted and heaved a sigh himself, though it was hardly malicious. If he was completely honest with himself, the way the other sulked was even a touch endearing. “Allllll-right. Do you still want to look for a table or are you bored of this for today?”
