After Sam calls Mike and Fi for help, they immediately jump into action. Right before Mike makes his move, he checks in with Fi to confirm where she needs to be to pick up Sam. And that’s what stood out to me—Mike only mentions Sam. Not Jesse, not Evan—just Sam. It’s funny, but also kind of telling.

Here’s the line:

Mike: “Fi, remember. Sam will be running for the road near the woods.”

Fi: “I’ll be there.”

This moment really shows how much Mike values Sam—and it’s not the first time. Throughout the series, Mike consistently puts Sam’s safety first. At the end of Season 1, when Sam’s kidnapped, Mike risks everything to rescue him. In Season 5, Sam goes undercover, and Mike puts his own life at risk to get him out. Its a pattern Whenever Sam is in trouble Mike is there, Sam is also the one Mike trust to protect his mother.

But it’s not just Mike—Fi and Jesse also show a lot of loyalty to Sam in their own ways.

Fi, for example, often has a soft spot for him. when Sam’s friend is killed Fi is ready to kill the man who did it for him. She jokes around with him, but you can tell there’s real affection there—she never treats him like a burden. In Season 6, when Sam gets injured, Fi is visibly shaken and completely focused on helping him, not just as a teammate but as a friend, and when sam go's under for the CIA in Season 5, she was against it from the start and even tells on Mike to his mother.

Jesse, too, might have had a rocky start with Sam, but over time he grows to genuinely respect him. In I think it's the third episode of Season 7, when Mike calls for help, Sam go's to Jesse and he says no until he finds out Sam's going with or without him and then he goes for Sam and he spends the whole episode watching Sam. Jesse is also the only one left with Sam at the end of the show, somewhere along the way he went from Mike's friend to Sam's.

So yeah, that little line from Mike might seem small, but it fits a larger pattern: everyone on the team—especially Mike—has a deep respect and protective instinct when it comes to Sam. He’s more than just comic relief or the sidekick; he’s the heart of the team in a lot of ways.

In the first episode Lucy tells Mike that she's sent jobs to Sam over the years and, Sam doesn't have a crew which means he did those jobs alone, something Mike doesn't do and at the end of the show Sam and Jesse started doing jobs.

I know Sam always comes looking for Mike's help like he can't do the jobs on his own, but we see in the episode where he's helping Berry and is cut off from everyone, he thinks fast and always has another plan and he gets them out and even Barry is shocked by what he can do.

I think Sam acts like he can't do things alone because he wants to hang out with his best friend, and he knows Mike won't do normal things with him so he has to get him to do job's with him, but he's proven that he can do them alone if he has to.

Everything Sam does has a purpose. His clothes and behavior make people underestimate him, giving him the upper hand from the start. He's very deliberate in everything he says and does, and he remains calm when Mike is spiraling out of control. He is the calming center of the team, keeping them all from crossing the line.

In the fall of Sam Axe he tried to sacrifice himself at least twice, and when Beatriz shows up in the show he's prepared to sacrifice himself for her.

At the end of the first season of Burn Notice, he tried to sacrifice himself for Fi and Mike, and at the end of season 6, he tried to sacrifice himself a few times. It's like, if there is a chance to save just one life by sacrificing himself, he will. It happens quite a few times in the show, and my question is, why?

First was something I started noticing about half way through my first time watching it.

I know Sam is the oldest in the threesome, but did it feel to anyone else like Fi and Micky to an extent treat him like a little brother, hear me out.

First-Fi picks on him a lot and at first it's because she doesn't like him, but as the show goes on its how she shows her affection, and she starts acting like an older sister annoyed that she is being forced to let her little brother hang out with her and her boyfriend.

Second- She becomes very protective of Sam even against Micky. In that way, I'm the only one aloud to hurt him like an older sister would do.

Third- In season six when they go on the run she becomes hyper aware of Sam's emotional state, pointing it out to Micky.

Fourth- When Sam is in danger Fi panics.

Fith- Fi acts like he is incapable of doing anything right and then is shocked and proud when Sam does something smart.

There are other small things but Micky does it two, he acts like an older brother maybe because he takes things more seriously then Sam. He indulges Sam's childish side, he is also very protective and, is constantly taking Sam's stuff.

Sam just seems to fall into it like it's natural for him to be the youngest, asking to lick the spoon, pouting when either of them ask him to do something when he has plans, being annoyed when Micky takes his stuff and brakes it but accepts it like it's normal, steeling Mickys food.

Summary:

I don’t own any of the characters, and the story is based on a world my sister and I have been building since we were little.
