“You are absolutely right to say so.”  Octavian allowed his attention to shift from the Triumph proceedings and rest upon his wife. A vision in all her finery, seating along side him. A model Roman woman. As if carved from the finest marble.

“None of this would be possible without my Divine Father.”

They shared something private in that glance - something more than just the day’s events. An understanding that went five, ten, twenty years into the future. And what a grand future it would be. 

“It is important Rome never forgets just what was possible through him.” He paused, almost savoring the next few words before uttering them lowly between them. “Perhaps we should give an offering. Dedicate a temple. Declare a holiday. It’s the very least we can do.”
