The big Avatar story at the moment is Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender—which will be hitting a select few theaters before arriving on Paramount+ July 25—there’s another project in the franchise about to make its presence felt. During Avatar Aang‘s Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con, fans got a couple of big updates for the streaming series Avatar: Seven Havens.

The film begins with the most warranted reminder of the 2005 animated series’ opening narration, this time spoken aloud by the titular “Gaang,” all grown up, alongside the audience who were once kids with them and can recite the opening by heart. There were once four nations, each capable of bending the four elements of fire, water, earth, and air. To keep things in balance, the avatar, a mystical being with mastery of all four elements, acts as the peacekeeper between the human and spirit worlds, maintaining this balance through a line of reincarnation.

Avatar: Seven Havens is set to premiere on October 9, 2026, on Paramount+.

The series has been ordered for two seasons of 13 episodes each. Avatar: Seven Havens follows a young Earthbender, Pavi, who discovers that she is the next Avatar after Korra.

Seven Havens is a 26-episode 2D animated show set in a world shaken by a huge disaster. This event tore apart both the mortal and spirit realms, creating chaos and making people lose trust in the Avatar. Because of this, society has pulled back into seven safe zones called “havens.”

This upcoming series will have 26 half-hour episodes split across two seasons, or books. It is expected to premiere in 2027.

Avatar Pavi Hopefully Will Have Access to Korra as a Past Life.

Having One Past Life Is Better Than Having None at All.

Korra losing access to her past lives was one of her greatest struggles, forcing her to rely on her own strength rather than the wisdom of former Avatars. But just because she was cut off doesn’t mean her successor has to be. If Avatar Pavi can connect with Korra’s spirit, it would restore a crucial mentor dynamic, even if the full Avatar lineage remains broken.
