âLook, the vine on the tree!â she cried. He dashed to her side, she was pointing down the path she was standing before, at the very end stood stood what looked to be a monument. There were stairs between a pair of pillars leading to a plaque, there was an image of a bare tree on it with a faint red light snaking up its trunk. He glanced at her, ginning, âGood job! This must be it! Come on, before they get here!â She nodded, and the two dashed off towards the plaque. He glanced at her as they ran, grinning, they were going to make it! âWait!â she grabbed his shirt before he raced up the steps. He turned to her, breathing hard, a hint of worry creeping into his voice, âWhat? What did we forget?â âThis.â She reached down and plucked a fruit from one of the vases, it looked like a miniature apple. âOh, the appleberry!â She nodded and closed her eyes, the furrows on her forehead wrinkled up in concentration. She took a deep breath when she opened her eyes, and threw the appleberry into the plaque. It disappeared, but the red light grew stronger and flashed across the rest of the tree until it bloomed. Just as quickly, the plaque went back to normal, except the red light glowed brighter than before. The two stepped up slowly, stopping right at the plaque. He let out a deep breath. âWhatâs wrong?â she asked. âIâm nervous about this, thatâs all.â âDonât worry, everything will be fine.â âOf course it will, you should know, youâve done something like this before.â He smiled at her before glancing back, he could tell the angry voices were getting closer. He turned to her and took her hand. She nodded, and the two stepped through.Â
