Never mind, is it trying to imply that snakes with heat pits are venomous and ones without aren’t?  Guess I better be more careful around my ball pythons.

How about that it's using 'poison' instead of 'venom'?

Thanks for the info! I'm actually working at Disney's Animal Kingdom down in Orlando as a bird trainer at the moment (but yes I am Canadian!) and all of the new Florida bugs and lizards and critters in general are just blowing my mind. If I find another neat mantid I'll give you a shout for sure! ❤️
