General Hospital has replaced one Daytime Emmy winner with another, by recasting the role of Nina with Guiding Light vet Cynthia Watros.

My favorite scenes this week were by far between Nina and Liesel. I'm glad Liesel told Nina the truth and gave her her mother's dna for a future test. I'm glad they have each other, and that Nina was able to forgive her for her part in the keeping the secret.

Also the new Nina is finally growing on me. Shes not Michelle. But she is making the role her own, and I like how kick ass she gets to be.

I absolutely agree with you! Cynthia Watros is inevitably the best recast. Yeah I’ll miss Michele but Cynthia’s got some magic dust up her sleeves. I was happy when they announced it was Cynthia! Huge fan of Lost (she was in it)... and now I get to see her shine as Nina.

You’ve been through hell, and I think that’s one of the reasons you’re so strong. Hell, I don’t know how you do it Ava. But you’re a Phoenix that is rising up through the ashes every day. Sometimes I wonder if you’re even human because of how well you’re handling all of this... from losing your daughter Kiki.. to being in love with an axe murderer... to now helping Nina, who delivered Avery... with taking down the Cassadines’ with the codicil. You’ve been through it all Ava, you’ve been a tough bitch and I love you for that. Maybe I’m naive for my liking but I truly am proud of you. Kiki would be proud. Avery is proud. Everyone is proud.
