…the series IS DONE.

I considered doing some kind of video to commemorate this most momentous of days, the day in which the SNOW LIKE ASHES trilogy comes to an end. But as I was looking back through my old videos, I realized there just is no topping these gems of pure and utter lack of shame.

One thing kept coming back to me as I was rewatching all this weirdness: how insanely thankful I am to have had this journey. None of these videos/experiences/emotions would have been possible without the support and enthusiasm you all showed, and continue to show, to this trilogy. 

YOU made this day possible.

YOU made Meira’s success possible.

This day is owed to each of you, and I cannot put into words or video form how much I have loved sharing this ride with you. Watching the Winterian army form. Getting all of your fanmail. Interacting with you online. Seeing your jaw dropping fanart. And just knowing that as I put these books out into the world, Meira goes into your very capable and loving hands, and even if today signifies the last book in her story, she’ll get to live on through this wondrous, crazy, fantastically weird family fandom we’ve created.

Thank you, my friends. 

ONE! WEEK! FROM! TODAY!

I couldn’t very well let FROST LIKE NIGHT’s ONE WEEK BIRTHDAY EVE pass without celebration, now could I? So for those of you who have read books 1 & 2 (because, I’m warning you now, SPOILERS), I have a never-before-seen chapter from ICE LIKE FIRE! 

Yes, a WHOLE CHAPTER!

But WAIT, THERE’S MORE! 

Since Ceridwen’s POV is in FROST LIKE NIGHT, it seemed appropriate that this deleted scene should be too! Some of you might remember that the Wattpad story, FLAMES LIKE VINES, came about because Ceridwen’s POV was originally in ILF. Well, the chapter I present to you today comes after FLAMES LIKE VINES, and would’ve fit into ILF between Chapters 27 and 28, when Meira and her whole group are in Ventralli. Ceridwen has just left the big official monarch-meeting with the Ventrallan king, Jesse, and she’s a bit … shaken up about things.

So even if your entry wasn’t chosen as a finalist, PLEASE know that even picking these Top Four was one of the hardest choices I’ve had to make in these contests so far. I even enlisted the help of Husband, and we spent a good long while staring at every entry, making lists, remaking lists, discussing certain entries over others, and just generally being wowed by the level of GLORY each of you shows. 

The paintings, the drawings, the quote graphics, the SONGS (OMG Husband and I just stared slack-jawed at that one, I will never not be impressed by people who can SINGGGGG), the poems!, the CUPCAKES, the hours and hours of work each of you put into these creations – there are no words to tell you how amazed I am, how grateful, and how much I adore you.

GUYS.

It’s currently sitting in my office, reminding me of all the crazy insane glorious *insert endless adjectives here* wonders that have happened in the past three years.
