It felt heavy, this past year. There were still the scars of loneliness left, not enough to make him lose faith again though. He hasn’t contacted Riku in a while himself, he didn’t even know when they stopped writing or meeting. It was not like he just wanted to have some time for himself but to actually forget about the fact that he had a lover seemed so impossible that Vanitas yet had to figure out how that could even happen.

At the moment it was not important. Riku finally wrote him back and he was about to come. Everything felt like always again. The silver was in his car, he was coming over and here was Vanitas, maybe decorated with a few more tattoos and piercings but the same old jerk he has always been.  What would happen if they saw each other again? Vanitas was kind of nervous, maybe he should smoke before his boyfriend comes…

      Actually; it’s been a year or so since the two of them had even seen one another. The fault cannot simply fall on one pair of their shoulders, but on both, instead. He’s been busy fixing blown head gaskets and Vanitas.. has been only God knew where. Riku can only say with the utmost certainty that he’s longed to see his partner, if they could even be called such anymore.. He had no one to blame but himself, especially since he was the one who made the man trust him, which was more than what he should have asked. Trust is a hard thing to gain, and more than anything, Riku just wants to go back to how they always were..
