you need to accept that autistics will:

make you uncomfortable

misread your body language

not pick up on your signals

make jokes you think are stupid or weird

give off body language that upsets you

flirt in ways that upset you

use tones of voice that upset you, especially ones you perceive as "angry"

not notice your facial expressions

want explanations for things that genuinely upset you to have to explain

avoid touch in ways you find offensive

seek out touch in ways you find offensive

say things that are so blunt or truthful you find them offensive

and so many many more examples

and autistics can't just "act normal," can't just "learn" to not do these things, and you need to understand that this doesn't make autistics dangerous, doesn't mean autistics need to be isolated from the rest of society, certainly doesn't make autistics fucking predators like so many so-called leftists are keen to brand autistic behavior as.

But what all of that completely ignores is there are negative sides to autism and we will sometimes do things that piss you off. No one wants to deal with the meltdowns or the complete and utter lack of empathy or the anger and the depression. What about those of us who self injure when we stim and have angry explosive meltdowns? Who are occassionally too blunt and too withdrawn and rude and offputting?

I'm not saying it's your job to deal with all of that. It is also on us to try to manage and control our own behavior. But it just seems to me like everyone wants nuerodivergent pride until we do something you don't like. Until we start acting "scary".

Autism is a disability for many people for a reason.
