@heatherfoster / blue heaven bar
everyone had their suspicions as to what happened to the missing girls . that was still different than actually having the confirmations . holding onto hope was hard when it was being ripped away . his dreams have been filled with sybil , he’s still competing with her when he closes his eyes . that’s why bradford continues to push himself . he can’t bring himself to focus on making more syrup right now , but he does bring a book on how to care for different plants . brad enters the bar as quietly as he can and then slides the book over the counter . “ this is the book i told you about the other day . ” he smiles softly at heather . “ i was also curious about something . ” bradford doesn’t know how to ask her , so he takes a deep breath . “ do you think they were being watched ? "
with the recent news he’s felt like he’s been on edge . bradford prides himself in not only keeping calm , but also looking on the bright side . there’s no bright side about two bodies . except for the fact that there’s still a chance tatum is still alive . he walks back into his safety net , the place where he has the control , but then he finds the note . the florist looks around for a brief moment and notices that no one else is in the shop with him . he wasn’t there , so they would have had to plant it there when he stepped outside .

he contemplated whether being alone this far out was such a good idea - but he didn’t want to go somewhere there could be a crowd , either . what an annoying conundrum ; he hated big crowds , yet also wasn’t a fan of being by himself . he just wasn’t going to be happy anywhere , was he ? he snorted derisively to himself , taking a soothing drag from his cigarette . well well , if it wasn’t the heart of his problem making itself known . this was a prime example of why he shouldn’t be left to his own thoughts ; who did his brain think he was to be going on this psychological introspection ? dr. phil ? actually grateful for an interruption this time , he lifted one of his shoulders dismissively . ‘ i’m sure there’s plenty of room here for the both of us . ’ his gaze was blank , voice bland . why did this person care ? ‘ no . ’ he didn’t elaborate .
ever since he was little , bradford always thought that everything happened for a reason . normally when he came to the bay there was no one else there . now that he wasn’t alone , there had to be something the world thought the two needed from each other . right ? he nodded slightly even though the man’s voice wasn’t all that welcoming . “ okay , thanks . ” bradford took a step closer to the water , watching the waves slowly pick up the flowers . the blunt answer caught him off guard without an explanation , so he turned his head to face the other . “ people say the waves at night help people make decisions or think out whatever is wrong . ” no one but bradford said that , but he was technically a person . “ so i hope it helps you feel better . even if it’s just a smidge , that’s something . ” looking on the bright side , especially during these times , could be annoying . yet he still found himself trying .

though the regulars who drink here aren’t really the lavender drinking type. heather knows this’ll be used when someone like maia or even bradford came in. still, the brunette appreciates the gesture. “ that sounds like a plan. i swear you make me feel all fancy when you talk botany. ” she tells him, half joking. the bar was . . . just that. the bar. nothing really happens here, it’s pretty routine. “ oh god no, these people know better than to mess with me. aside from the occasional drunk brawls; it’s the same old, same old. can’t complain though, it pays the bills. ” heather adds with a shrug. the television in the corner above the bar catches her attention as she hears more news coverage of the disappearances. “ i swear that’s all that’s played twenty-four seven. it’s a really sad and tormenting reminder of what’s going on. ” she motions to the screen, leaning against the counter.
though his majors in college were more business aligned, bradford has had to research all things flora related for his business. that’s why he can go on and on, having to stop himself from ranting. “ soon enough you’re going to have the second best green thumb in town ! ” heather is always looking for tips which is what makes him think she’s going to succeed. he relaxes on the chair when she mentions things have been on the peaceful side. “ that’s good. although now i have the mental image of you breaking a beer bottle on some big loaf’s head to get him to stop fighting. ” he laughs to himself before taking another sip. the news sends a chill down his spine, turning his head to face the television. “ they’re going to come back. they have to. this is just helping speed up the process. ” bradford can’t bring himself to lose hope now.

huxner.
it’s not like hux truly had anywhere to be – he didn’t. there were times when being social was all he needed to give him a surge before he got to go relax at home. there were also days where he wanted to walk with his head down and hands in his pockets , to blend in with everyone else. it was hard to do that nowadays , especially since everyone was a suspect and the newcomers in town were seen as threats. to be stopped by some kid made hux only slightly irritated. he could , however , blame the deadpanned tone on the fact that he was tired from working overtime that day. “ i don’t really buy flowers. ” hux commented , brows pulling together before he let his gaze fall upon the colors placed before him. still , he only took a moment longer before reaching up to gesture towards the peony. “ pink’s fine. you should try green next time , though. what’s it really for ? ”
even the man’s tone didn’t knock bradford off of his main goal. the thing about being an optimist was that he never thought the worst of a situation. there were several reasons why someone could have sounded like that aside from his own involvement, so he didn’t pry. the answer made him excited and conflicted all at once. peonies stood for sybil and she was the one he knew the most. yet their history was complicated. “ hmm. dinner on me next time you go out or i can get you one of those blank cinema tickets? ” he didn’t really think paying someone for their opinion was necessary, but he liked giving back. a small smile stayed plastered to his face as he bunched the flowers together again. “ working on a personal project. a bouquet to represent sybil, faye, and tatum. ” was that too much information ? “ i’ll look into green too ! maybe i’ll make an all green bouquet and track you down again for your opinion. ”
heatherfoster.
heather can’t say that she’s all that surprised by his kindness. she’s witnessed it multiple times as she’s been a frequent shopper at clover’s den. heather is still trying to get the hang of her nonexistent green thumb and that’s lead to many trips down to his shop followed up by some questions on how to keep plants alive. “ awe, bradford. you shouldn’t have. ” taking the large glass from him, she uncaps and brings it up to her nose, smelling it. “ i love the smell of lavender. you’re an angel for this. ” she sets it down on the counter next to all of her other mixers. getting the cosmopolitan ready, she slides it over to him. “ how are things down at the shop? i’m sure being surrounded by beautiful flowers all day isn’t that bad. ”
he likes to think that it’s businesses supporting businesses. heather’s presence is something to look forward to at clover’s den and bradford seems to make his way to the bar at least three nights a week. he grins happily when she smells the syrup, feeling like he’s done another good job. “ i was happy to do it! sometimes drinks can use a little kick and what better than a plant? it’s also an aphrodisiac, so i can make you a smaller bottle to take home. ” the last sentence is delivered with a wink. “ thank you! ” brad takes a small swig of the cosmo before setting it back down on his napkin. “ i can’t complain. business is good and the flowers keep me company during the lull. how’s this place? no one’s giving you a hard time, right? ” the reason why business is going good leaves a sour taste in bradford’s mouth, but he tries to push it out of his mind for now.

it’s a very ordinary night in crescent shore which means it’s a very ordinary night at work. the regulars of blue heaven are scattered around the small space, some partaking in a game of pool while others mingle amongst themselves. heather, oddly, finds this comforting. especially with how strange and different life has been this past month. mundane things she used to hate suddenly aren’t being taken for granted anymore. the disappearances have made heather realized that this life was short, and that being hung up on the little details was nothing but a waste of her time. easier said than done, since there’ll never be an end to her miserable life here in crescent shore. work was more tolerable now than ever since it keeps the brunette’s mind off of the tragedies that surround her. this consistent routine is what gives her life structure and without it: heather would crumble easily. cleaning up behind the bar, she’s alerted of a new patron as the familiar ding of the entrance bill rings once the door opens. “ the usual? ” she asks, having memorized just about everyone’s drink order due to blue heaven being the only bar in town. heather often sees these people more than she does her own sister.
after the police decided to speak to him, bradford’s mind has been in a constant haze. especially since cassandra decided to completely throw him under the bus and offend him in his own shop. still, he’s been trying to look pass that. clover’s den has been closed for a couple of hours by the time he makes it to the bar. he’s also carrying a large glass bottle with him when he sits down. “ yeah, a cosmopolitan please! ” he grins at heather while he makes himself comfortable on the stool. everything in him is working over time to push pass the tragedies that have struck the town recently. he’s trying to focus on the present, live in the now. “ i actually brought you something too. ” bradford places the bottle on the counter and slides it over to her side. the liquid has a purple tint to it and it’s only a little thick in consistency. “ lavender syrup for some of your drinks. some of my lavender was drying up so i figured i’d put it to good use. ”

availability ; open to everyone ! @horrorsfm location ; the bay .
after cutting the engine to his bike , the silence of the surrounding landscape was deafening . he missed the distraction from his own thoughts immediately , fingers itching to turn the key again . he resisted the urge , instead making his way down one of the hills to find a place to sit . he was here for a couple reasons ; firstly , to get away from it all , at least for a little while . secondly , because tatum had last been seen there . he didn’t know the girl personally , but he had something of a business relationship with her father made him feel a stronger sense obligation than normal . finally picking a spot , he took a seat , drawing his legs up and leaning his forearms on his knees . he sighed , reaching into his jacket pocket and pulling out a cigarette . lighting it up , he exhaled a cloud and stared blankly at the cresting ocean waves , completely lost in his own mind .
every now and then bradford visited the last places the girls were spotted at . sometimes it was just in hopes of them coming back out , but other times there was a specific reason behind it . people all across town continued to send them bouquets waiting for them to return . since he didn’t have someone to deliver them , it was up to him to do the grunt work . bradford put on a pair of combat boots and went over to the bay . when he was leaving the flowers on the edge of the ocean . that was when he noticed callan there , turning his head a bit . “ sorry , i didn’t think anyone was going to be here at this time . ” brad stood up and wiped his hands on each other . “ are you okay ? ” he should have just left , but he has a bad sense of boundaries .

open starter, @horrorsfm past midnight, the streets of crescent shore
insomnia and william had been friends for as long as he could remember. his destructive tendencies and egotistic ways always found a way to annihilate any sort of connection, yet insomnia couldn’t be driven away that easily. over the years he had learned to cope with it, he could tell whether a night would be peaceful or something else entirely, this was one of those nights. sleep wouldn’t come to him and he wouldn’t try to force it. for someone who hardly ever took no for an answer, it felt humiliating, and over the years he hadn’t gotten used to the feeling.
the watch on his wrist marked two am as he walked around town. on nights like these, his bed felt like a cage and he often found himself walking the grounds of the march state, and when that simply wouldn’t do it, he would take to the streets. they were empty, with the exception of the occasional car that would drive, just him and the dead of night. or so he thought. near a closed store he spotted a dark silhouette, not far enough for wiliam to mistake them for a inanimate object, and yet not close enough for him to tell who it was.
“quite late to be wandering around, isn’t it?” his tone was playful, yet a part of him couldn’t help to feel like they were trespassing into his territory. most of the time william slept during the way and lived once the sun had gone down. he was used to spending his night alone and seeing someone else, even though it gave him a strange sense of comfort, it also made him feel unease.
part of owning his own business and not having any other workers meant that he had to do all of the work himself. he didn’t mind. bradford never shied away from putting effort into a project. yet sometimes he lost complete track of time. that night he had worked until about midnight. then he ended up accidentally falling asleep in the flower shop. he woke up at one thirty in the morning, having to double check all of the clocks to make sure that he had the time right.
after freshening himself up, he made sure that everything was set into place and started closing up for the night. he locked the doors and pulled down the gate to the flower shop. brad was ready to fish out his keys out of his bag before he began to stretch. he was going to have to find a way to remind himself that not working all day long was okay. maybe he was going to get a big calendar to hide it behind the counter. when he was starting to lose himself in thought, that’s when he heard the voice.
“i guess i wanted to see how your crowd lives.“ bradford smiled softly as he approached william. he didn’t mean anything by the comment aside from his crowd being the night crowd. “i ended up accidentally knocking out in the flower shop, so i’m just now closing up and about to head back home.“ he raised a brow while looking over at the other man. “what about you? is this your normal time to walk the streets or did time also escape you?“
𝒐𝒑𝒆𝒏 𝒕𝒐 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚𝒐𝒏𝒆, @horrorsfm 𝒍𝒐𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏, outside of clover’s den in the main part of town
bradford wasn’t going to close shop any time soon, but there was a lull in clients for the time being. he grabbed a pink peony, orange & red tulip, as well as a white lily. he stopped the first person that he saw walking pass the shop with a warm smile on his face. “so this is going to sound a bit weird, but can you pick one?” his brows rose as he showed them all three of the flowers. the peony stood for sybil, tulip for tatum, and lily for faye. in order to stay focused on the missing women, he wanted to see which arrangement he should work on first. “i’m working on a secret project, but i’m a bit stumped on how to start. help me out and i’ll cover your next bouquet. whether you buy it for yourself, someone else, or i just send it to you.” he might have been coming off as too cheery considering everything, but he just needed to focus on the positive.

𝙵𝙸𝙻𝙴𝙳 𝚄𝙽𝙳𝙴𝚁 : 𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘯 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘦𝘳 , @horrorsfm . 𝙻𝙾𝙲𝙰𝚃𝙸𝙾𝙽 : the crescent shore post.
she was astonished when she got word from her boss that they wanted her to conduct a few interviews for the crescent shore post’s next article. she had been an intern for so long but was patiently waiting for her time to come. after the disappearances of the crescent shore girl’s, eloise’s boss was all over wanting to find out what had happened. in fact, in his office stood a murder board, where they were trying to piece together the fragments of what happened each night when the girl’s went missing.
as soon as she got news that she was conducting interviews, she sent a few emails out to the residents of the town. she had a few scheduled for early this morning & a few more scheduled later on during the afternoon. so she got her things ready, dressed in the formal attire she was required to wear & made her way to her work place. upon arrival, she grabbed her bag filled with everything she needed & went inside to begin working on the questions she wanted to be asking. as time passed on, she realized that she had about five minutes to finish getting things ready before they arrived. nodding her head to herself, she straightened her desk up & got a new pen out from her desk drawer & lined it perfectly with her notebook. she then made her way out of the private interviewing room & made her way out into the lobby.
❛ thank you so much for taking the time to come in, my boss just wants me to conduct a few interviews & get a few statements on record. they want to make sure their getting everything they can to keep everyone in the loop of things. ❜
the harsh reality of the town was that they were living in mystery. being reached out by the newspaper wasn’t something that he was expecting, but he understood. bradford knew that the police department weren’t the only ones in charge of releasing information. his father’s team had been training him on how to answer questions since he could form sentences. that was why he agreed to meet one of the interviewers.
bradford took one of the earlier slots so he could go in before opening clover’s den. he was dressed casual, to his standards. a white polo with a light blue sweater vest thrown over it. he was wearing white shorts to pair with it, ironed to the nines. the florist’s shoes were tan, boat shoes commonly known as loafers. he headed over to the crescent shore post with an ornate vase in his hands. the flowers were beautifully arranged. white, green, light blue, and pink colors popped out. bradford actually got there five minutes earlier, but he didn’t walk in until there was only a minute left on his watch. there was a bright smile on his face as he made his way into the lobby.
❛ you’re welcome, thank you for having me! i appreciate what all of you are doing here, so anything i can do to help just let me know. ❜ he stuck his arms out to hand the vase over to eloise. ❛ i brought these to living up the post a bit if you needed them. would you like them out here in the lobby or in one of the rooms? ❜

the two officers casually stroll into clover’s den, bradford’s flower shop. before he can even offer up any sentiment towards the sheriff, he sees the look on both of their faces. he’s not going to make any sales for the next couple of minutes, that’s for sure.
THE WHEEL OF FORTUNE - destiny can have a lot to do with a person’s life. change is inevitable and that isn’t always good, but it seems to be for bradford. there’s something bigger out there, fate some call it, but he has to stop and smell the roses. what’s the point of a journey if you can’t cherish it ?
