aurora:
The sharp curse got Auroraâs attention with immediacy. âFanculo! Mi dispiace molto!â (Fuck! I am so sorry!) the princess rushed over to the woman and called to a staff member fast, âGet ice,â she says looking to her unintended victim, âIâm sorry, I didnât mean to hurt anyone. Iâ,â the Italian found herself stammering, âI lost controlâ Please forgive me,â
Sure, her head throbbed like a bitch and she might have seen stars for a few moments. But now she had a pretty face in front of her and a little less temper sharpening her tongue. Sue her, she was allowed to be a bit shallow. âDonât bother,â Violet countered to the staffer and rubbed her temple with a rueful grin, shaking her head and puffing out a breath, shoving away her tousled blonde tresses. âAre you always this articulate when you attack someone?â Violet teased with a low chuckle.
The womanâs dismissal of the staffer caused the aid to pause in confusion. They were always told to follow the orders of the Royals, so the young girl looked between the blonde victim and the brunette princess. Aurora nods and grants her dismissal before looking back to the woman on the ground. The toss of her hair curled a strange wire in the stomach that Aurora could not easily explain. Her teasing made the Italian bust a chuckle of her own, âI donât attack people often so I suppose I donât know the etiquette for such an act,â Aurora stands back to her feet and offers the blonde her hand, âAre you so often attacked you know the right things to be told?â
auroracappellettiâ:
She may not be allowed out for another week, but they could not argue with her being on the grounds. Aurora was not an expert at riding by any means, but she had always enjoyed the activity with her oldest sister. Petting the Persano darling, Aurora smiled to her and kissed her sweetly as she fed her an apple. The gray coat of the large mammal was speckled in different shades of white and slate. Hearing Valâs voice over her shoulder, Aurora turned to him as she began to dress her horse for a ride. Due to the animals extremely large height, the beast lay down on the stable floor for her to dress, âNot if you go slow,â she teases, âWhat brings you out here?â
He shrugged, glad to see Aurora out again. âJust wanted to have a nice ride around the castle before I go back inside, get some really nice warm hot chocolate.â Just the thought of hot chocolate-with tiny marshmallows!-made him smile hugely, rubbing his hands together. âSometimes I would do this early in the morning, butâŚI donât make it sometimes, and end up riding mostly during the afternoon.â
Aurora nodded with a smile while she added her reigns and tightened her saddle, âIt is so strange to be doing this myself,â she admits, âUsually when I am at home and I say I want to go riding people do this for me. I donât mind doing it, but it does remind me that Iâm not at home,â she straddles the horse and kicks gently to tell it to stand again. Moving with the mammal, Aurora looks over to Valentin, âI am surprised you having a goat companion by now in your room,â she teases as they move out of the barn and begin to walk down a trail to the edge of the land.
auroracappellettiâ:
Valentinâs voice caught her attention and she turned to meet his eyes, âNon mi lasceranno nemmeno lasciare questo posto-â (they wonât even let me leave this place-) Aurora paused realizing she was still speaking her mother tongue to the man. Taking a deep breath, she slowly let it go and spoke again, âThey wonât let me go to the village. They said even though Iâve been in my room for a week because I was sick I canât leave the castle it self for two more weeks,â It was only after her grumbled response that she realized the ball not far behind him, âDidâ Did I hit you?â she asks slightly flustered at the idea that she had hurt someone.
He shook his head before pouting. âThey wonât let you go to the village?â he asked, shocked. She looked fine to him, even though he wasnât no doctor at all. âI might can help you leave to go to the village,â Valentin said, lowering his voice. âI know a couple tricks to getting out of the castle,â he told her. âYou can leave it to me.â If she wanted to get out of the castle, he was going to help her one way or another.
Hearing Valentin say he could help her âbreak outâ of the castle brought a smile back to her face and a sparkle to her eye, âYou can?!â it was a yelp of a whisper when she spoke and looked around before meeting his eyes again, âHow? When? Where?â the rapid fire questions shot out before being able to adequately think through what he was offering, âPlease, I would be indebted to you, Val,â
auroracappellettiâ:
Aurora had not even noticed the shattering glass over the sound of pressure and blood filling her ears. She continued to curse in her mother tongue under her breath until she heard the baritone voice of the guardsman. Turning to meet his eyes, Aurora feels prepared to defend her anger when she realizes just what he was referring to. The broken glass next to the ball along the wall- it was a clear scene. âFanculoâŚâ(Fuck!) she whispers as she moves over towards the mess, âI didnât realize⌠I lost control and⌠I didnât mean toâŚâ feeling as though she needed to explain herself to him- Aurora crept down and put her head in her hands, âSto impazzendo,â(I am losing my mind.)
James stayed silent, letting the girl curse. This wasnât even the worst that he had encountered while working with the royals, so he was used to it- even if, in a way, it most likely wasnât right. âItâs alright, donât worry about it. That can be taken care of.â He assured her, stepping closer and blocking off the path to the mess for the princess, in case sheâd decide to do something silly. You never knew, and it was his job to ensure she wouldnât do something sheâd regret. It wasnât difficult to flag down some cleaning staff, as the noise had already attracted plenty. Instead, he focused on the girl, her actions bringing concern. âAre you alright?â
Aurora hated being âtrappedâ in anything. In a room or a castle. In a castle or a city. In a city or a country. It was the premise that was a reminder to her that she was not in control of herself and it was one of her biggest frustrations with being part of the Royal Family. She understood the need for it, but it did not lessen the blow of having such restraints on ones self. Being so far from home was not helping the matter. It was only hearing James question if she was alright that the young woman heard her fatherâs voice in her mind. He would tell her to get up and stand tall, because Cappellettiâs never yield. Slowly, Aurora took in a few deep breaths and stood to her feet, âI am angry. Angry at being kept in. I donât...â Pausing to run her hands through her hair harshly in a poor shot at self soothing, âI donât loose control a lot, but it... Being told I âcanâtâ do something or I âcanâtâ go anywhere is infuriating to me,â she explains only then looking up to James face, âI feel captive,â

âYou have a talent for making people feel better about themselves,â she admits without thought. The small flush that comes to her cheeks is proof that Aurora had said something she did not intend to. âI just know I should have asked is all,â the Italian continues, âNormally I would before doing something like that- but the alcohol just got away from me- and you looked so beautiful- and I felt bold- and-â Aurora felt her thoughts slipping out so fast that she could hardly control them. Turning her back to the fellow princess, Aurora took a deep breath and covered her face with her hands. Get your shit together! Aurora scolds herself You arenât even out to your family- you canât let her know too much. What if- her mind begins to spiral with âwhat ifâsâ of how horribly things could go. Taking a deep breath to calm herself, Aurora runs her hands through her hair and shifts keeping her eyes off of the blonde, âI talk too much when Iâm nervous,â
âThank you.â The Austrian dipped her head slightly as she took the compliment. There were few things in life that Eden liked more than knowing she had made people feel good. Wait. She thought I looked beautiful? An unconscious smile crept across Edenâs face at hearing that. She was fairly certain she hadnât been dressing for anyone but herself, still it meant a lot coming from someone who was so lovely herself. The knots in her stomach felt like tightly coiled snakes and buzzing little bees all at the same time. âYou donât need to be nervous,â it was hypocritical, when Eden herself was also so nervous, âWeâve know each other for years, and I would never hold this against you. You know that, right?â She still felt a slight urge to run away, but she really didnât want to upset Aurora further or make her feel worse than she already did.
Her smile was so distracting. Aurora found herself keeping her back turned to the blonde purely to keep her eyes from roaming. How was it that this one girl could make her lose such control? Of course it was be a straight girl too the Italian thought to herself, a stunning, kind, gentle, heterosexual girl, the princess almost laughing bitterly at the dark irony. In all the time that she had known Eden, Auroraâs emotions only seemed to get harder to control. The slip up on Halloween had been the first time she had allowed her emotions to control her. Aurora didnât regret the kiss at all- but she did regret that Eden was upset by it. âIâd like to hope so,â she admits, âBut you never know these days,â she adds keeping her back turned, âIt isnât exactly celebrated in my country if I had done what I did there- and Iâve never done that in public before- and when you ran I thought you would hate me- I thought I had just lost a good friend- I thought--â Aurora found herself babbling again and bit her lip to keep it in, âIâm rambling again,â
auroracappellettiâ:
The princess canât help but laugh at how quickly he reacts to his own words, âSmooth recovery to no insult me,â she teases, âBut really, my skills with humans is mild at best. I never really had anyone in my life that was âstillâ enough to sketch. Only my sister Axelle when she was reading,â moving towards him, she offers him several sheets of paper and different drawing pencils before sitting down herself, âTwo days? Why are you not sleeping?â she asks taking her own pencil and beginning to do a rough sketch of her own hand as it lay open and relaxed on the table beside her.
.
âIâve learned to be quick when I fuck up, but itâs usually for running away,â he joked. âYou just have to find someone who thinks itâs semi interesting to be artistic and entertain them with their half cocked questions about what you draw. That can usually keep a person still for an hour or two,â he offered, picking up a pencil and examining it before looking over at her. âOh the why is as good a guess as any. Violet says itâs the energy drinks but she can pry those out of my cold, dead hands,â he responded, a grin on his face as he blindly sketched lines that would form a body. He was decent enough now to not need a model every time he sketched. âCurl your fingers more so you force yourself to work on shading,â he offered when he realized what she was attempting.
Aurora found herself chuckling at his joke, only to shake her head teasingly, âI was never really given that chance,â she admits. It was a strange thing to be a royal at times. She wielded so much power and influence over the people of her country- but she rarely got to authentically interact with others. Of course there were other royals she could spend time with and had occasionally been up for modeling for her, but even they had schedule to keep to. âYou do know sleep is critical to functioning as a human, yes?â she joked back to him, âViolet may just have a point,â her beginning lines always looked the same to her, but his suggestion of curling her fingers makes her smirk as she does so delicately and pulls her focus in to work, unknowingly biting her bottom lip as she concentrates.
âWhat do you mean I canât leave?â Aurora asks sharply. The guard before her looks particularly flustered at how the princessâs voice rose upon hearing the news. It was protocol of course after a royal had been sick to no allow them off the grounds for two weeks- but that meant nothing to Aurora. After being unwell for a week and then being told to keep to her room, the Italian was nearly out of painting supplies to keep her distracted. She was used to getting what she wanted and being told ânoâ was a hard thing to handle. Nevertheless, she took a deep breath and attempted to calm herself as she stood at the guarded courtyard with her bookbag on her back. âListen, I just need to go and get a few paints from in town. I wonât be gone for than an hour,â she attempts to plead to no avail.Â
Storming out of the foyer, Aurora blindly kicks a ball with incredible force, âStupido, bastardo, regole. Lo odio qui.â (Stupid, bastard, rules. I hate it here.) she gowns loudly in her native tongue, not paying attention to where the ball lands. âSe fossi a casa questo non succederebbe.â(If I were at home this would not happen.)
It wasnât difficult to hear the princess complain. Her voice was loud, amplified by the large spaces, and so James found himself watching her as she argued with the guard who was simply doing their job. Nevertheless, the guard stuck to his job, and James smiled a little, following the princess with his eyes as she stormed out of the foyer. Maybe he should have assumed that she would simply calm down, but, hearing the ball being kicked and the undeniable sound of smashing glass following it, the man followed the commotion. âI do apologize, princess. I can understand why youâd hate it here.â He wasnât fluent in Italian, but he was decent enough to understand. âIâm sure we could find a way to compromise without breaking centuries old decor.â
The broken glass next to the ball along the wall- it was a clear scene. âFanculo...â(Fuck!) she whispers as she moves over towards the mess, âI didnât realize... I lost control and... auroracappellettiâ:
Hearing the Italian curse, Aurora stopped and turned to see the man. Sighing heavily, Aurora looked down with a near child-like embarrassment, âMi dispiace,â she mumbles her apology as she walks towards him. His teasing words were meant to make her smile, but her frustration was burning, âI just want to go to town and get more art supplies. Just get out of the castle but the guards wonât let me. They say since I was sick I have to stay in the castle for another two weeks,â she complains, âI just want to go out. Iâm going mad in here,â she exclaims looking up to Gio with slightly pink eyes from holding in angry tears.
He could feel for the girl, he really could. Gio knew he would be going insane himself if he were forced to be locked inside the castle for as long as she had been. But he was also someone paid to follow safety protocols and those were the few rules he liked to enforce. If a royal wanted to go in the kitchens that was fine by him but he couldnât justify sneaking her into the village. âI know it sucks but itâs not just for your safety that you stay inside. How about we go hang out and do whatever you want inside the castle and then later Iâll go get anything you need from the village? Iâll even stop by the chocolate shop and grab you something. Would that work for you?â
Aurora was on the edge of ranting about how âeverything is for her safetyâ but nothing ever seemed to be âfor her happinessâ when Gio brought up the idea of him going to get her the supplies she wanted later on. If there was one person she would trust to pick up art supplies- it would be him. âI... Gio...â Aurora found herself stammering till she finally sighed heavily and leaned forward till her forehead rest on his clavicle bone, âFine,â she agreed bitterly, âI want sweets,â she admits while still feeling a bit childish.
auroracappellettiâ:
Hearing her mother tongue flicked Auroraâs interest without a second thought. Looking over to the woman, she found herself slightly embarrassed by her childish outburst. Though that did not dampen her frustration over the situation. âForgive me,â she replies walking towards the woman and picking up the planner from the ground and trading for the ball, âI did not intend to hurt anyone,â she admits, âI suppose my anger got the better of me was all,â it was a slightly embarrassing thing to have to admit, but when you are used to getting your way at all time (especially as the baby of your own family) being told ânoâ was still hard. âI am sorry for that MsâŚ?â
â â â
Saige willingly relinquished the ball; taking her planner back into her grasp, holding it flush against her chest. An unconscious telling of just how heavily she relied on the book.Â
âSaige, please, call me Saige. Iâm having enough of a crisis at the realization that Iâll be 28 soon.â It was hard to accept that she was 2 years away from entering an entirely new decade of her life when she still feel like a teen at heart. âAnd no need to apologize. I get it, must be hard having people tell you what you can and canât do. I barely survived my dads setting a curfew for me in high school.â Being a royal seemed like it was nice in theory but the lack of privacy and autonomy would be Saigeâs worst nightmare.Â
The womanâs grip on her planner was a relatable one for Aurora. Her handler back home used to grip hers in a similar fashion. âSaige it is then,â Aurora chuckled and shook her head, âI just turned twenty-six myself- Though I donât think my father knows I aged after six,â she jokes as she feels her earlier frustration and anger begin to melt off. âIâve never much liked the rules and regulations of my world, but I suppose I can understand some of them,â it was understandable why some rules were in place- but several of them Aurora would never be able to wrap her head around. âIâm Aurora, by the way. I believe I may have lost my manners as well as my temper just now,â

The Italian chuckled at the womanâs clear confusion. It seems she didnât even register where she was. It was the question of why she was here that made Aurora laugh, âI live here,â was her simple reply. Putting her violin down on an ottoman, âI believe you may have had a little too much to drink last night,â she replies with a sincere smile, âWhy donât you come to my room and get a change of clothes,â she suggests extending her hand to the woman.
She lived hereâŚ.a question was about to come out of her mouth, but she closed it before she nodded, feeling her head pounding. âThatâŚthat sounds like a really good idea,,â Lilli agreed, standing up slowly as the room started to spin. ââŚafter I sit down, yeah? Maybe have a little break before I fall flat on my arse, yah?â she mumbled with a slight smile.
Aurora chuckled and nodded, âSit here,â she insists as the young woman helps her onto the long sofa. Placing her violin on a hook on the wall, Aurora steps out of the room a moment and calls a servant to bring her a glass of water and a sleeve of saltine crackers. It only takes a minute for the woman to return with the requested items and the Italian gives her gratitude. Sitting on the coffee table in front of Lilli, âDrink,â she says handing her the water.

Another royal, another damned delivery, and she was just about to snap at the next person who wanted to have a bouquet of flowers delivered was going to get stabbed with her least favorite pair of heels. To add to that, a certain moronic brother had forgotten to write down who it was going to and, well, she was just going to-
The ball smacked her on the temple with a loud and fairly rude thud, jolting Violet. âFucking ow!â She groaned and looked around for the culprit.
The sharp curse got Auroraâs attention with immediacy. âFanculo! Mi dispiace molto!â (Fuck! I am so sorry!) the princess rushed over to the woman and called to a staff member fast, âGet ice,â she says looking to her unintended victim, âIâm sorry, I didnât mean to hurt anyone. auroracappellettiâ:
Aurora chuckled, âYou may not be, but you certainly have a reputation to uphold,â she jokes looking over the plethora of bottles. Hearing his laughter behind her made her hyper a wear of just how close he had moved to her without her even hearing. Pouring a glass of dark red for herself, she canât help the scoff at his returning question, âWhy do I even ask?â she responds picking up one of the many bottles of Russian Vodka and pouring it in a tumbler for him. âSo unoriginal,â she teases with both glasses in hand- Aurora turns and walks to him at the edge of his bed. At only an arms length distance her bare legs touch his as she hands him the tumbler, âSo⌠Sleeping with the help?â she asks referencing the woman she had passed just before running into him, âIs she special or common to you?â she asks taking a deep sip of the red wine. Putting her free hand up on her waist as she moves back from him and begins to saunter around his room, stopping at the window showing the night outside.
âSo it would seem, does that mean Iâm at least doing a half decent job?â Ivan asked. He knew what people said about him when his back was turned, had heard the whispers. He wasnât going to either correct or dismiss them though, especially around the castle where word wasnât about to get out to the media or wider world. He couldnât help but give a roll of his eyes when she teased him on the vodka. âAgain, my personal cabinet. As you can tell my taste is quite varied,â he commented, nodding his head to indicate the glass of red in her hand as their legs brush and he was tempted to trap her there. âThat one I found at a friendâs party.â
Taking a mouthful of vodka he watched her cross the room. Clearly she enjoyed playing hard to get. With the question about the previous woman he gave a shrug of his shoulders. âNeither I supposed. Just someone willing to give something I wanted. Hoping for some kind of confession?â
Aurora shrugs slightly while looking towards him, âWell since I ran into you as you are letting the help run from your room like a scared mouse in the night-â Aurora lifts her glass to him in a âtoastingâ manner, â- I suppose you could say you are on brand thus far,â taking another sip to hide her smile as he refutes her teasing, âSo sensitive, I was only teasing,â she looks back to the window once more, âYou will have to tell me who so I can thank them,â she replies taking another sip before leaning her shoulder on the window trim and looking at the clear sky full of stars, âConfession is not my forte. I never was good at keeping on schedule to go to the church chat hour,â Aurora chuckles at her own joke before looking back to him, âShe was fairly cute- I donât blame you,â she adds as her eyes fall over his body. When she realizes her actions but a second later she is quick to look back outside, âHow often do you bed the help here?â it was a question to distract herself from realizing how smoothly the wine was taking over her control.
He walked towards the stable, walking with a little pep in his head. He was excited-finally, the snow had let up a bit so he can go horseback riding. Valentin wanted to skip there, that feeling of giddiness overcoming him as he finally arrived. âMorning,â he said to the other with a huge smile, finding his horse Cinders, a brown thoroughbred. âA bit nippy for a ride, isnât it?âÂ
She may not be allowed out for another week, but they could not argue with her being on the grounds. Aurora was not an expert at riding by any means, but she had always enjoyed the activity with her oldest sister. While he couldnât hear her, Leo could remember the sound of his sisterâs temper. It was ferocious and to him, it was also hilarious. That did not stop the immediate surge of equally ferocious protectiveness, the snarl on his lips as he shoved passed the denying guard and chased, in his ever-uneven way, after Aurora. âHey! What is going on, what happened?â He called out, determined to save the day for his little princess.
Aurora had a lot of frustration for being told what she was ânot allowedâ to do, but it could not have blocked out her brotherâs voice had she tried. Turning to him -her cheeks still flush from scolding the guard- Aurora looks up to him, âThey wonât let me go to the village. I was in my room for a week because I was sick and now they say I have to stay in the castle for another two weeks for monitoring,â Aurora half signs in her frustration only to stomp her foot in a childish manner once finished, âI hate this!â she signs with fury, âI want to go home!â it was childish of her, yes, but being with Leo always allowed her the safety of regression without judgement.

âAurora?â Valentin asked, coming around the corner as she blindly kicks the ball, ducking before he got smacked in the face with the ball. He was just about to go out himself, just for a tiny walk before dinner, and seeing her so flustered and angry in her native tongue that he couldnât even understand what she was talking about it. âAre you alright?â
Valentinâs voice caught her attention and she turned to meet his eyes, âNon mi lasceranno nemmeno lasciare questo posto-â (they wonât even let me leave this place-) Aurora paused realizing she was still speaking her mother tongue to the man. I hate it here.) she gowns loudly in her native tongue, not paying attention to where the ball lands. âSe fossi a casa questo non succederebbe.â(If I were at home this would not happen.)
He could hear the muttered Italian as he rounded the corner in the foyer, Gio stopping in his tracks as a ball came out of nowhere and hit him right in the middle of his stomach. He had caught the offending object but not before the force of it had knocked the wind out of him. âChe cazzo?â His eyes landed on Aurora and he threw her a look as he dropped the ball, the object rolling to the side. âAurora, can we not kill Gio while in Russia? I still have things I would like to experience before I die.â Eyes landing on the princess, his annoyance started to melt away when he saw the look on her face. âWhatâs wrong with you? You feeling okay?â
