Finding myself again.

I’d be lying if I said you don’t cross my mind. It’s been almost two years and you still have some type of effect on me, it’s crazy. But I realized and learned something over this time, that you were my biggest mistake. You brought out the worse of me to the world. I became a negative person who didn’t see the good in others and I didn’t even recognize myself. I lost my confidence in myself and even until this day, I don’t think it’s something that I fully have back.

Slowly, I’m starting to become myself again and it’s a breath of fresh air. I’m starting to see who I was before being with you and I can’t believe I let myself become a different person for you. Everything that I went through thinking you were by my side but you weren’t. You were selfish and you never had the balls to even tell me the truth. I could have told people the truth, you know. I could have told them everything that you did to me, but I didn’t. And that’s where I realized that I still have my old self in me. I don’t need to make you look bad to others. I don’t need other people to feel sorry for me. I don’t need any of that. I just need for me to find myself again.

I’ve been thinking about you a lot and it’s killing me. It kills me because it’s not fair. There are so many times that I want to run into you, I want to talk to you again just to see what you’ve been doing and how you’ve been. I’m jealous of the people who are able to keep in close contact with the past but how am I supposed to do that when you did me so wrong? That’s what I keep reminding myself but at the same time I realized that you will always have a spot in my heart. A special spot because I really was in love you.

It just kills me because I know I’m not in your thoughts at all. But we were never right for each other and we both know that. I really hope you’re doing well, D. I miss you a lot.

Do yourself a favor and learn how to walk away. When a connection starts to fade, Learn how to let it go. When a person starts to mistreat you, learn how to move on.. to something and someone better. Don’t waste your energy trying to force something that isn’t meant to be.. Because the truth is.. for every one person who doesn’t value you - there are tons more waiting to love you better.
