Hey so an insane new dinosaur got announced??
This is Haolong dongi, a new species of iguanodontian ornithopod found covered in what is basically,,, hedgehog quills??
The fossil is a stunningly preserved skeleton from China that includes evidence of hard armour scales on the tail (like in the much smaller Kulindadromeus), and a coat of spines along its neck and back! The name appropriately means "spiky dragon".
Not only is a spiny iguanodont wild on its own (this individual is over 2 metres long and is a juvenile, other ornithopods with quill-like structures are much smaller), these spines also appear to be an entirely new skin structure? They're apparently not feathers or scales, but a secret third thing.

If you think it's transphobic or homophobic to say that God made you to be a certain gender and that if you decide to have sex (because there's NOTHING unbiblical about being ace, God did actually make some people to just not want sex, both Jesus and Paul addressed this question), it should be within the context of a cishet marriage- if you think it's hateful to say all this, then go ahead and block me now. I don't want to argue about it and if you try to pick a fight with me, I will just block you.
As a Christian, I believe everything I just said about gender and sexuality. So this last chapter of Deltarune was... a little difficult for me to get through. Like, I know, Undertale gave us Alphyne and some others some 10, almost 11, years ago. I've been able to just kind of get through it because there's so much in the stories that I think is good. But there was just a lot of it in Chapter 5 and it bothered me.
I finished playing Chapter 5 last night. And then do you know what I did this morning? I watched The Good Dinosaur (idc what anyone says, I like the movie). Good Dinosaur is not a Christian movie, and it obviously works on an evolutionary mindset. I, personally, stopped caring about whether or not a story is creationist or evolutionist when I was a child. And I haven't changed. I don't believe in evolution, I believe creation is true, and I see no reason to fight people on that. I believe what I believe, you can believe what you believe, and we can agree to disagree or you can leave me alone, because I know I'm not gonna be the one coming after you about it. But I'm still gonna keep watching Jurassic Park, I'm still gonna laugh at that line in the first Flintsones movie about the Grand Canyon not being ready for another 15 million years, I'm still gonna keep enjoying these stories, because they're good stories, even if I don't agree with the worldview of the people who made them.
Anyway, as the credits came on for Good Dinosaur, something occurred to me: I'm nowhere NEAR as prejudiced against atheists or evolutionists as I am against gays and trans. Even though I know full well that atheists have rejected God's sovereignty and Christ's plan for their lives just as thoroughly as the lgbtq community, atheism just doesn't bother me as much as lgbtq. That, by definition, is prejudice.
I am not going to change my beliefs about God or sin, and I will continue to pray for those who choose to reject Christ in any form, whether it's atheism or homosexuality or Satanism (btw, I also like horror stories) or just plain not wanting to turn their lives over to Him because they think they're doing just fine (because there are plenty of good churchgoing people who will never see heaven- see Matthew 7:21-23). But I think I need to try to stop labelling people by their sins and just see them as people.
