When you're used to hearing James Marsters as Spike, his natural voice sounds Californian².
Okay i think the fact that JM played them both at the same time makes it so much better than them being played by different actors. Because this way you can "Spike" wearing graphic tees, buy supermarket tortillia chips, and work at a call center in the ugliest shirt imaginable and then I can see "Simon", who's described as "too nice," just eat people. Fantastic.

I've just been having Buffy playing in the backround but there's one guarantee to make me look up from what I'm doing:
Return to Labyrinth, Volume 4
Electrical box art across from Stephen's Green in Dublin, Ireland.
In honor of my graduation, here are some Medieval uni students having a way better time than I did.
Novelization of I Know Where I'm Going!

So I was doing a little wishful Irish Wolfhound window-shopping and I came upon this:
-Sherlock and Watson are right next to each other and yet they aren't the bonded pair--Sherlock's brother isn't named Watson (or Mycroft), it's James Bond.
-Watson being a giant dog (IWHs are the tallest breed) that ran away from his home because he was too gentle to stand up to tiny Chihuahua-Dachshund mix and needs to be placed in a home "where he will be happy and safe and loved and cherished for life". Also just the general fawning about how adorable, gorgeous, and sweet he is.
Pictures of Sarah Brightman that invoke Sarah Williams from Labyrinth to me.
So, for reference this was my original point of comparison.
But I think the fantasy/quasi-medievalism/gown comparisons are good too.
