Road anon again. Turns out I had a default for roads in lot view hidden in my downloads folder. Surprisingly, it never conflicted with my last roads default I was using, so I never knew this thing was hiding in a different folder. But thanks for taking the time to answer, and I really am loving the roads!

I recently found your Charmed Sidewalks Road DEF and I love it. The issue I'm running into is that when I'm in lot mode, I cant see the road default on the roads around the lot. I'm not talking about the overlays that I need to add to my lot. Those show up. It's just that the rest of the neighbor's roads are defaulting back to the standard maxis one (hopefully I made that clear). Your pics show it appearing, so I'm not sure if the error is just on my end. I have redownloaded it and same issues.
Hi anon, no worries, I understand what you're saying. I actually don't use those defaults myself anymore, but I threw the lush default in my game and it's working fine for me:
I haven't had anyone else report an issue either, so the only thing I can think of is that maybe you have another road default somewhere in your downloads folder that's overriding it? It shouldn't conflict with anything else except another default. You can try moving it to the very bottom of your load order and see if it shows up.

🎶Default Replacement: 4t2 EP18 Mikro's Ribbon Mic
Wrestled with this for a while but finally got it working - this is a default for the Small Superstar Microphone (AL), using 4t2 EP18 Mikro's Ribbon Mic and a speaker mesh by @ravasheencc. (I know it's actually an amp, but it's cute and it fit the sizing of the original mesh well).
Mikro's Ribbon Mic (11 recolors) and RVSN Rugged Floor Amp (6 recolors)
Accessory Mic (used when Sims actually sing): 1 color, black
A few notes & known issues:
The accessory mic was marked as AL and I think it's only used by this microphone, but I'm not 100% sure. It does NOT replace the microphone used for the karaoke machine, though.
Sims' hands will clip slightly through the microphone at times - see preview above.
There's a non-default version included as well if you would prefer that; delete whichever one you don't want. Be aware that the original mesh will use the defaulted accessory mic if you have it, though.
Because I added recolorable subsets to this, it will have the cc star/delete button enabled if you just drop it in your Downloads folder. DON'T DELETE IT IN GAME. To avoid this, you can move it to the Bins folder for your latest EP - for Ultimate Collection, that's [GameInstallLocation]/Fun with Pets/SP9/TSData/Res/Catalog/Bins.
This was a little finicky to make and while I've tested it pretty extensively in game, please let me know if you find any issues!

hi! you linked to an invisble recolor of the ticket machine in your new EP18 ticket kiosks post (love these btw, thank you!), but I'm not sure it's really a recolor. I didn't quite understand pfish's description so I opened the file in simpe and it has an OBJD and a bunch of other things recolors dont usually have. so what exactly is it? a separate object that works like your kiosks? a default? I'm a bit confused.

Hi anon, just a quick update for you - it is in fact an invisible default replacement. It does still allow the original recolors to work, however, which is nice. I'll update the post with a more accurate description; sorry for any confusion! Probably should have tested it in my game before linking to it 😅

🎟️ 4t2 EP18 Ticket Kiosks
I wanted some updated ticket kiosk options, so I converted the two kiosks from TS4 Businesses & Hobbies! The Ingenius Ingvar kiosk has animated lighting on the side, and they both have custom purchase screens in Simlish too 💚
Electrono Ticket Kiosk 4.0 (11 recolors)
Ingenius Ingvar Ticket Kiosk (8 recolors for frame, 8 recolors for lighting)
Cloned ticket machines are a little funky, and they require the original ticket machine to be on the lot to function. My suggestion is to place one in an area of the business accessible only to employees - I like to imagine it's the "controller" for all the ticket kiosks on the lot. Once the original is placed, you can use any of the kiosks to activate them, and prices can be set individually per kiosk.
Animations are also a bit wonky - Sims' hands will clip through the screens slightly because these are taller than the original kiosk, and they will pull a ticket from the center of the screen. But I think it still looks quite nice, and they're good enough for my game, so I wanted to share them.
I didn't make a default replacement - I think since it's required to have the original on the lot, it's nice to have a tiny mesh for that. But if anyone would like to default one of these, please feel free!

If you'd prefer not to look at the original ticket machine on your lot, there is an invisible default replacement for it by pfish that also allows all the original recolors to work, too. Just make sure it's inaccessible if you don't want Sims to use it!
⏳ Merging Fences Quickly
I have always used this method detailed by @hugelunatic to merge fences, and it works perfectly. But it's a little tedious, especially if you're trying to merge a bunch of fences at once.
Today I realized that as long as you want the same name/description for each fence, they can all use the exact same STR file. And as a bonus, this makes changing prices faster too, because you don't need to update every catalog description to reflect the new price.
Throw all the individual fence package files into SimPE
Change all the XFNCs to have unique instance values
Delete all but one of the STR entries
And that's it, you're done! One nice neat package for all your fence colors, and only one STR to update if you change its price.

"Because I know a lot of people are close to hitting the OBJD limit, I didn't want to expand the bars' footprints beyond 2 tiles." can you please explain more about how OBJDs and footprint are connected? I sometimes see large objects with only 1 OBJD and sometimes they have multiple ones, but didn't know that footprint is also relevant.
I'm far from an expert, but I'll do my best!
Basically, there are two ways to expand an object's footprint - this way that DeeDee explained, or by adding OBJDs for each tile.
As I understand it, you can't prevent Sims from walking through tiles that don't have OBJDs - or at least, if you can, I don't know how to do it! So I just use tile blockers in those spaces when needed.
You can't tell by looking at the footprint if an object has multiple OBJDs. They're really never needed for a decorative object, so I try to remove them when I can. But a lot of functional objects require multiple OBJDs so I don't really mess with those.
(If someone else who is more knowledgeable sees any mistakes here, please jump in!)
💖 4t2 EP16 Lovestruck Bars
I recently added this pack converted by @tvickiesims and @platinumaspiration to my game, but saw that they didn't convert these bars. I thought they were cute, so I decided to make them!
Included are the Romance Rendezvous Bar Counter and Wooden Rustic Home Dive Bar from TS4 Lovestruck. All recolors are included and merged with the mesh, and files are compressed.

❌ Bonus: Tiny Tile Blocker
Because I know a lot of people are close to hitting the OBJD limit, I didn't want to expand the bars' footprints beyond 2 tiles. So I've included as a little bonus an edit of cityof2morrow's Tile Blocker. I used the original all the time in my game, but wanted something that wouldn't leave shadows when used outdoors. So I replaced the mesh with one from HugeLunatic's tombstone marker default. It is VERY tiny, so you may have to search for it a bit once you place it! Thanks to a tutorial from lamare, it also automatically turns invisible in live mode, and is visible again in buy mode. It has its own GUID, so you can use this and the original Tile Blocker in your game at the same time if you'd like!
Just place the tile blocker underneath the parts of the mesh that aren't included in the footprints, and your Sims will no longer walk through them. You can see a picture underneath the cut.
