Ominous Fortune

Homelander returned to his penthouse after the weekend to find you in the same spot he left you. He turned you back on and helped you stand up. You smiled and jumped into his arms as he laughed. 'Mmm, hey baby. I missed you so much,' he whispered as he pulled back and kissed you. You smiled and looked at him.

'Do you want lunch? I can make your favourite,' you said with a smile.

'I would love that, baby. I'm gonna go take a shower,' he said. You smiled and watched him leave as you got back into the kitchen and started making a sandwhich.

It had been a few months and Homelander noticed you had started declining. The scientists had just told him to not overwork you too much and let you cool down. You stood in the kitchen with a knife in your hand as you watched the oil burn in the pan in front of you. You held the blade up and ran it down your hand as you gasped. It felt good, it felt familar. 'Billy...' you whispered, the name coming to you from somewhere deep in your systems. 'Hurt me, please,' you whispered as you held the knife to your own throat.

'Y/N!' Homelander shouted as he rushed forward and took the knife from you. You looked at him with an exhausted gaze.

'Billy,' you whispered as his gaze darkened.

'What the hell did you just say to me?' he growled. He reached up and held your throat.

'This isn't the first time you've hurt me... Is it?' you whispered, your eyes were void of any emotion.

'Say that name again and I'll fucking rip your head off,' he treated as his hand tightened around your throat.

'Who is he...? Why do I want his arms around me?' you whispered. His eyes glowed before he snapped your neck and let you fall to the floor.

'You're fucking broken.'

Homelander had you reprinted over and over but not matter how many times he did it you still remembered Billy. You would still hurt yourself and cry out Billy's name. He stormed down to the labs one night with your body thrown over his shoulder. He hadn't killed you this time, he had kept your alive and alert as he threw you onto the table. 'She's too fucking far gone!' he shouted as the scientists looked around nervously. The head scientist stepped out with a smile.

'We admit she has gotten a little laggy as of late. While you were experimented with this one we have been working on a newer one. One that's gone through a lot more testing and is sure to be a lot more perfect than her,' he said. Your eyes widened as you sat up.

'You're replacing me?' you whispered as Homelander smiled devilishly.

'A new one, you say?' he said as the scientist smiled. You felt tears in your eyes as you looked at Homelander.

'Don't replace me, please. I'm sorry I've been bad, I'm just confused... Please,' you begged as his smile faded when he looked at you.

'Restrain her and bring out the new one,' he ordered as the scientists grabbed you and restrained you to the table. You watched as the head scientist left to get the brand new "you." You looked at Homelander and a tear rolled down your cheek.

'Love, please. I'll be good, okay? I can learn to be perfect,' you said. He stepped closer and held your face in his head.

'You're useless, sweetheart. You need to accept the fact that you're just an old useless piece of teach now,' he said as you began to cry.

'John, please,' you whispered as he chuckled softly. You looked up to see the scientist leading a woman in that wore just white undergarments. She looked similar to you but more flawless and more like America's idea of a perfect woman. She was blonde with perfect tanned skin, blue eyes, big breasts, thin waist and blonde hair. She looked at Homelander and smiled brightly.

'Well, if it isn't my husband,' she said as he smiled and stepped closer to her.

'Look at you...' he said as she chuckled and spun around for him to see every inch of her. You looked at her with betrayal in your eyes as you struggled against the restraints. She looked at you and her smile faultered for a moment.

'This must be Y/N... Hey, sweetheart,' she said as she stepped forward. 'I guess you're like my sister, aren't you? I heard you're not well, hmm?' she said as she reached up and ran her hand through her hair.

'Don't worry about her, we'll be destroying her,' Homelander said as your eyes widened.

'What? No, please don't destroy me!'

'Oh, come on, love. We don't have to get rid of her do we? I know she's broken, but she can still function. Keep the house clean, cook for us and whatever we need,' she said with a wicked smile. She glanced back down at you. 'Would you like that, sweetie? We won't destroy you, if you just be good for us okay? We can take good care of you, like a little pet.'

'What? I don't want that,' you whispered as she chuckled and continued to play with your hair.

'That's a shame, I suppose you can destroy her then.'

'No! Wait... Okay, I'll do what you say,' you said as she turned to Homelander with a smile.

'Can we keep her, love? She's so sweet and I always wanted a little pet,' she said as Homelander chuckled and stepped closer. He wrapped his arm around her and pulled her closer.

'Aren't you just filled with wicked ideas,' he said.

'I just feel sorry for the poor little thing,' she said with a fake pout. You looked at Homelander as tears ran down your cheeks.

'Please, John...'

'I think we can make a few tweaks first.'

When you woke up again you glanced around to see you were kneeling in Homelander's apartment. You looked at around before your eyes landed on the new "you."

'Rise and shine, sweetheart. You've been gone for a few months now. John just wanted to give me time to settle in and not feel like I had to compete with you. He's such a sweetheart, isn't he? Oh and he named me Valerie, it's just perfect. He's in a meeting, but he said he's more than happy for me to give you your instructions,' she said in a cheery tone. You went to speak but your mouth didn't move. 'Just a little tweak we made. Now that you're going to be a housemaid we didn't think it was really necessary for you to be able to speak.'

Your eyes widened as you stared at her in a panic. You pushed her out of your way and rushed to Homelander's room. You stood in front of the mirror and saw yourself in a maid outfit and a cat collar. It was humiliating.

'I know it looks silly, but I think it's just so adorable. The collar is just so we know where you are,' she said as she flicked the small bell to give it a chime. You felt tears in your eyes and looked at her through the reflection. She stood behind you and wrapped her arms around you. 'Please don't cry, sweetie. I don't want to see my little pet sad. I know Homelander got frustrated with you in the end and hurt you, but I won't let him, okay? I'll take care of you,' she said as you froze in her arms. She smiled and watched your face through the reflection. 'I'm not like him, okay? I won't hurt you, and I'll make sure he doesn't hurt you. You just need to do what we say, okay? Please just do that for me, I don't want to see you hurt,' she said as she nuzzled into your hair. You didn't know why she was acting like this with you. Maybe it was a superiority thing, she was artificial like you which meant she was lower than humans. Having you around probably meant she could feel superior and in control of someone. 'Come on, I want to watch you make some lunch before John gets home.'

You began making some lunch in the kitchen as Valerie kept her eyes on you. She had been warned about your tendency to hurt yourself. She stood behind you and watched as you made some sandwiches.

'So, who's this Billy guy John hates and you apparently love?' she asked as you froze. 'I suppose you can't tell me, can you? I can tell by your face it's complicated,' she teased as you tried to ignore her and continued preparing the food. She smiled and hugged you from behind again and you froze. ‘Maybe we could surprise John when he gets home. I know you’re kind of broken, but you can still have sex right?’ She asked. You dropped the food you were holding as she laughed in your ear. ‘Come on, you were made for sex. You can’t tell me you don’t crave it in your systems,’ she said. You tried to push her away from you but she was a lot stronger than you. ‘Don’t force me away,’ she growled as she grabbed you and forced you to bend over the counter. The front door opened and you glanced up to see Homelander. ‘Love, you’re home! Y/N was just getting a bit rowdy so I thought I would put her in her place,’ she said as she let go of you. Homelander chuckled and moved forward to kiss Valerie.

‘Look at you taking care of her,’ he said as you looked at Homelander sadly. ‘Enough with the puppy dog eyes, darling. You had your chance. You’re just lucky Valerie feels sorry for you,’ he said as you kept your head down.

‘So, how was work?’ Valerie asked as she rubbed Homelander’s chest.

‘The usual crap,’ he grumbled as you turned back to preparing lunch for them.

‘Well, I had a little idea to help you unwind,’ she said as you froze and tried your best to stay calm.

‘And what would that be, darling?’

‘Y/N, come here,’ Valerie said. You stayed still before she moved forward and grabbed you. She pulled you against her side as Homelander smirked. ‘Now, I know she’s a bit broken, but she’s still pretty.’ Valerie turned to you and brushed your hair away from your face. She pulled you towards her and started to kiss you as you fought against her. Homelander chuckled and leaned against the counter, you shoved Valerie away as she chuckled. ‘Well, I’m glad we kept your little device,’ she said as she held up your control device. You looked at her and shook your head as they both laughed. You felt terrified and utterly humiliated as they watched you. Valerie stepped closer with the device and looked at you. You tried to speak but nothing came out as she laughed again and pulled you against her. You felt tears in your eyes again as you looked into her eyes. ‘It’s okay, sweetheart. I’ll take good care of you.’

Later that night you stood in the kitchen just staring down at the stove. You felt so disgusting and used, somehow it was worse than what Homelander or Soldier Boy had done to you. You went to grab a knife but your hand froze, no matter how hard you tried to reach for it you couldn’t.

Billy stared down at you with a remote to a collar in his hand, he couldn't believe he had captured the most powerful (and evil) supe. Sometimes he wondered if you could be worse than even Homelander himself. He smirked when you began to wake up and gripped the remote tighter. You opened your eyes and looked at him before realising you were in a cage. 'Butcher,' you growled as he smiled.

'Rise and shine, sweetheart.' You went to use your powers to escape the cage but nothing happened, Billy laughed softly. 'That handy little collar on your neck stops your powers from working. It also disables that chip in your neck,' he said as your eyes widened and you reached up to feel the collar. 'Not so scary without your powers, are you?' he said as you slammed your hand against the bars.

'Fuck you, William Butcher,' you growled as he continued to smirk.

'Now, I'm not going to kill you because that would be mercy to you,' he said before you gasped and gripped the cages bars.

'No...' you whispered as he looked down at you in confusion.

'What? Finally realise you're in deep shit?' he asked as you groaned in pain.

'No! No! They're fucking erasing me!' you screamed. Billy looked even more confused.

'What the bloody hell are you talking about, luv?'

'The chip... It's not just a fucking tracker. It's incase any of us get fucking kidnapped. They don't think it's worth looking for me... They're going to erase my memory,' you whispered as you stared at Billy in fear. He enjoyed seeing the fear in your eyes as he stepped closer.

'Why the hell would Vought give up a powerful supe like you and erase your damn memory? Your pulling my leg,' he growled as you gripped the bars in pain and your nose began to bleed.

'After everything I've done for them! Everything I've built for them!' you screamed as Billy knelt down. 'They think I'll just disappear? That I'll just stop fucking existing!?' you screamed. You screamed in agony before collapsing onto the ground unconscious. Frenchie and Marvin rushed in and looked at Billy.

'Don't bloody look at me. She was saying something about her chip erasing her memory then she passed out,' Billy said. Frenchie kneeled by the cage and looked at you.

'It's not uncommon to put a fail safe into a chip...but my question is if they did actually do it, why would they give up on finding her so fast?' Frenchie muttered.

'She's probably fucking faking, watch,' Billy grumbled as he pulled out his pistil and shot it just above your head to see if you'd flinch. 'Okay maybe she's dead.'

'She's still breathing, idiot. She's definitely unconscious,' Marvin said.

'I guess we'll see what happens when she bloody wakes up.'

The next day Billy entered the room they were keeping you in to see you curled up in the corner with old blood on your face. You looked at him in fear. 'You're awake, huh?'

'Who are you?' you whispered.

'Oh, you're really leaning into this whole they erased your memory thing? I don't bloody buy it,' he growled as he pulled out a blade. 'So, I'm cutting that damn chip out of your neck and Frenchie can see if you're telling the damn truth,' he said as you screamed and backed against the wall more. 'Fucking hell! Shut up!' he screamed over your screaming. He grabbed the remote of to the collar and sent a shock to you that knocked you unconscious. Hughie rushed in after hearing the screaming and saw Billy entering with a knife.

'Billy! What are you doing?'

'I'm just cutting the bloody chip out of her neck,' he grumbled as he dragged you out of the cage and forced you to lay on your back. 'Get the first aid kit so the bitch doesn't bleed out.'

Hughie returned a few minutes later with the first aid kit and saw Billy brutally cutting the chip out. He went pale and covered his mouth. 'I um...Marvin!' Hughie screamed as Marvin rushed in to see the scene.

'Billy! What the fuck is this?' he growled as he rushed forward and took the knife from Billy.

'I'm trying to get her chip out so Frenchie can test it.'

'Well, you should've asked me. You have the hands of a goddamn ape,' Marvin cursed as he began to wipe away some of the blood.

'It's attached to her bloody spine and had a needle that injected something into her,' Billy said as Marvin pulled out the main part of the chip.

'There's still a bit left, we'll test it. The chip is out, the rest we'll just have to leave in there. I'm not going to start chipping away at her bloody spine. Hughie, give me the kit,' Marvin said as he held a cloth over the wound to stop the bleeding. Hughie passed Marvin the kit but kept his distance as Marvin started to stitch the skin up. 'Go take the chip to Frenchie,' Hughie said as Billy tossed it to him. He nodded and rushed out. 'Didn't need Hughie passing out as well,' he grumbled as Billy chuckled.

When you woke up again you felt pain throughout your entire body. You looked around to see you were still in the dark and damp cage. You shivered and curled up against the floor, you cried in pain and from the cold before the door opened. You looked at him in fear and scurried to the corner of the cage. 'Turns out you were telling the truth, darlin. They sent a shock wave to your brain, enough to knock your damn memories out of your head. They also injected you with something we didn't even know existed. Something that counteracted the V in your system and killed it. Bad new, darlin. You're just a human again,' he said as he knelt down and looked at you. You looked at him in confusion and fear. 'I guess that means nothing to you now, luv. You wanna tell me what you do remember?'

'I don't know what you want,' you whispered with tears in your eyes.

'You even remember your name?'

'I don't know,' you whispered as you began to cry. Billy had a wicked smile on his face.

'Aww, that's alright darlin. I bet all of this is pretty scary, huh?' he said. You nodded and stayed huddled against the back wall. 'Come on, how about I get you out of there. I can take that collar off and get you a nice cup of tea,' he said with the same smile.

'You won't hurt me?' you whispered as he looked at the bloodied bandaged around your neck.

'Of course not, darlin.' He opened the cage and reached his hand out for you as you stated at him in fear. He pulled you out of the cage and helped you stand up before taking the collar off. 'There, that's better. Isn't it?' he said as he held your face in his hand.

'Who are you...? Why am I here?'

'Now, now there will be time for questions, but right now you just need a good hot beverage, darling,' he said as he wrapped an arm around you and led you out of the room. He pulled you into the main room and put the kettle on before sitting across from you on the couch.

'Why am I here? Why was I in a cage?' you asked as he smirked.

'Why don't we have a little refresher of who you are? That would help wouldn't it?' he said as he stood up and grabbed some files. He threw them onto the table in front of you before he grabbed a computer and a usb. 'I've got information on all you bloody supes. This is the best way to show you just who you are, darlin,' he said as you stared at the photos of dead bodies he had handed you. He noticed your face going pale.

'Why would you show me this...?'

'Because, darlin. If your memory was working you would remember that pretty clearly. That massacre is because of you,' he said as you stared at it in shock.

'No, I wouldn't do that,' you whsipered as he took the picture to reveal the one underneath it. You stared when you saw yourself smiling and covered in blood. 'These are fake...'

'Is this fake too?' he said as he opened the laptop and began playing a video of you teleporting between people and slitting their throats. You suddenly saw the camera and heard the girl filming scream in terror before you stabbed her. You gasped and covered your eyes.

'Stop it! Stop it please!' you screamed as you closed your eyes and blocked your ears. He paused the video and took your hands away from your ears. 'It's not real... I don't have powers,' you whispered as he smirked.

'Oh, you had powers, darling. Not anymore, but just because you forgot doesn't mean you get off easy. You're a damn monster, sweetheart.'

'A monster...?' you whispered as he looked at you.

'Yes, darlin. You were at the centre of all those damn massacres. You've destroyed many lives and Vought has covered it all up for you. You know what I should do? Throw you in the damn streets and watch people tear you limb from fucking limb,' he said as a tear run down your cheek. He chuckled and gently wiped it away. You continued to sob as he smiled, he felt a sickening pleasure in watching you sob. 'You got easy, darlin. You got to not remember what you've done, but all the people you've hurt still remember. Including some of my team mates,' he said. You looked at him in confusion as you continued to cry.

'Team...?'

'A little team I put together to stop monsters like you, darlin. Cause my wife was tortured and killed by one of you,' he said as he handed you a photo of Homelander.

'But he looks like a hero...' you whispered. He chuckled softly and shook his head.

'They really did wipe everything, huh? You even remember your bloody childhood?' he asked as you looked at him.

'Childhood...' you whispered as you searched your mind for any memories. You looked at Billy with a helpless look in your eyes and he felt addicted to it.

'Look at you, darlin. You don't know what to do, do you?' he said as he reached up and held your face again. 'I could just kill you, but I feel like this is better revenge,' he said as you stared at him in fear.

'I'm scared,' you whispered as he smiled again, he gently stroked your cheek with his thumb.

'You should be, luv. Cause I'm the least of your problems. You didn't screw me over and even I want to hurt you. Imagine the people you did screw over,' he said as you teared up again.

'Why can't you just kill me? Wouldn't that be better?' you whispered.

'I'm not letting you get off that easy, darling.'

While Billy had gone out to help the boys with another mission he had you handcuffed to his bed. It wasn't ideal but at least you could lay down now and it wasn't a cold concrete floor. You cuddled into the pillow, ignoring that your hand had lost feeling from being handcuffed. You wanted to escape to the comfort of anything, but you didn't know what you found comforting, you didn't even know you're own name. The door opened and you looked up in fear as Billy entered.

'You look nice and cosy there, darlin. I've got some people who wanna have a word,' he said with a smile. You sat up and looked at him.

'Are they...'

'People who hate your damn guts? Yes, they are,' he said as he unlocked the handcuff and helped you stand up.

'Are they going to hurt me?' you asked.

'They might, sweetheart,' he said before he pulled you out into the main room. You stood there staring at a group of people. The blonde woman in the middle stepped forward with tears in her eyes.

'So, they really did turn you human. You're powerless,' she growled as her eyes began to glow. You backed away in fear as Billy gripped your arm tighter.

'Easy now, Annie. We need her alive,' Billy said.

'You know what she did! Not only did she kill someone I loved, but she has ruined so many lives! She's killed and tortured people, children even! I don't care if she's forgotten!' she screamed as the room began to fill with a blinding light. You grabbed Billy and hid your eyes as he looked down at you in shock. Despite him hurting you and manipulating you, you were still seeking his protection. It should've made him feel powerful but he felt...wrong.

'Annie it's okay!' Hughie said as he did his best to calm her down. Once the blinding light was gone Billy glanced down to see your eyes closed tightly and you muttering to yourself.

'Oi, luv,' he said as he shook your shoulder. You opened your eyes and glanced at the others as they glared at you. Kimiko turned to Frenchie and signed something.

'Kimiko says that the only way she's okay with Y/N staying here is if she can cut her limbs off one by one,' Frenchie said as your grip on Billy tightened.

'Alright, no one isn't doing any bloody dismemberment,' Billy said.

'Then what? She just becomes a part of the team? What she's done...there's no coming back from that. Maybe she's had the pleasure of forgetting but we haven't and the world certainly hasn't,' Hughie said as Billy glanced at you.

'Then what's your bloody bright ideas?'

'Maybe it's best we keep her in the cage for a while,' Marvin suggested.

'I don't want to cause any of this... You can just kill me, okay?' you said as they looked at you. Annie stepped forward and everyone was on high alert.

Billy had been driving himself mad the past few weeks. He hadn't given up trying to get you back, but Vought's security was even higher now. Frenchie walked in and looked at Billy with an uncertain gaze.

'Mon Ami... You might want to see this,' he said as he turned on the tv. Billy's jaw clenched when he saw you on stage with Homelander's arm around you like some kind of possession. He hated the fake smile on your face and the empty look in your eyes.

'Billy, maybe we need to look at the fact we won't get her back. Not yet at least, we need to focus on other things like taking down Vought,' Frenchie said as Billy looked away. Why did he care so much about a Vought made robot?

'Fuckin hell... Why am I like this with her?' Billy whispered. Frenchie sat down and patted him on the shoulder.

'Because she made you feel something you hadn't for a long time, but you need to think of this in the long run. She isn't aware of anything anyway.'

'Maybe you're right, Frenchie...'

After answering many questions from the public you were finally done. You sighed and say down in the dressing rooms. You glanced at the table and saw a small device that looked similar to a phone. You picked it up and turned it on and realised it has your name on it. 'What is this?' Suddenly the door swing open and you saw Firecracker. She smiled with a wide fake smile like usual.

'Just the person I wanted to see!' she said as she moved forward. She looked at the device in your hand. 'Now what do you have there, darling?'

'Nothing, it's a phone,' you muttered as you went to put it away but she swiped it from your hand. 'Give it back, it's Homelander's.'

'A phone, huh? So, why does it have an intimacy setting?' she said as you stared at if in confusion.

'I don't...know.'

Firecracker pressed it and adjusted the settings as you felt a wave of heat hit you. You turned around and tried to stay calm. She looked at you and turned it up more as you braced yourself against the wall. 'Oh, is this a little sex toy thing?' she asked as you tried to control yourself.

'I don't...know. Please give it back,' you whispered. She looked at the settings again and tilted her head.

'Question is, why would a sex toy have an obedience setting...?' she muttered. You felt your heart rate quicken as you kept your legs together.

'Please... Stop it,' you whispered with tears in your eyes. She stepped closer and kept her eyes on the device.

'A mute button...' she muttered before pressing it. You glanced at her and couldn't open your mouth. She looked at the device and then back to you. 'Now, wait a minute... Does this little device...' You turned around and tried to grab it before you were forced to your knees as she pressed another button. A tear rolled down your cheek as you looked up at her. 'That explains why Homelander suddenly has a wife. Why you're so clueless, this device... You're not real,' she whispered as she looked down at you. You stared at her as her eyes widened at another setting. 'So, I wasn't good enough for him. Everything I did,' she grumbled before pressing the button. You felt your breasts begin to leak as you cried. 'Apparently a little sex doll is more satisfying,' she said as she glared at you. You tried to move but your body wouldn't let you. She smiled as she watched your body betray you. Your breasts leaking and creating a mess as she laughed. 'I wonder what everyone would think...' she said as she pulled out her phone. The door opened and Homelander saw you kneeling to Firecracker. She looked at him before he lasered a hole in her head. You wanted to scream but you couldn't even do that, you stayed frozen as tears streamed down your face.

'Fucking hell!' he shouted as he grabbed the device and turned you off. You collapsed onto the floor as he rubbed his head and looked at Firecracker's body. 'I knew I'd fucking kill you one day.'

Homelander had switched you off and kept you in his bed while he was dealing with Vought. When he returned he found you sitting up and staring at the wall. His jaw clenched as he stepped forward. 'You're awake,' he said, trying to hide his annoyance.

'I'm not real,' you whispered.

'What are you talking about, love?'

'Firecracker... She had that device and... Love, what's happening to me? What am I?' you asked. He sighed and kneeled in front of you.

'It doesn't matter what you are, because I love you, okay? Maybe you aren't...human, but that doesn't matter.'

'Not human? What am I?' you whispered. He held your face in his hands.

'You are so much more, you were made for me. You are absolutely perfect,' he said as he kissed you softly. Maybe Homelander didn't need to erase you everytime you found out, maybe he could just make you okay with the fact you weren't real.

'I love you,' you whispered. He smiled and kissed you again.

'I love you more. I'm gonna have a shower, make some dinner okay?' he said as you smiled and nodded. He left to shower and you stared at yourself in the mirror. You shook your head and made your way to the kitchen. You felt a wave of happiness at the thought of providing for your husband. You loved him more than anything, more than yourself, more than the world.

'More than...Billy,' you whispered as you paused and stared down in confusion. 'Billy...' you whispered as you stared at your hands. You gently pressed your fingers to your lips. The name felt so familar, so safe. You ignored the thoughts and continued to cook, the name Billy staying in the back of your mind.

You prepared the table for Homelander and cooked up a nice steak. You sat down at the other end and waited obediently. Homelander came out and kissed your cheek before sitting down across from you. 'John... I know I'm not exactly normal like we spoke about. Can I have...children?' you whispered.

'Well, I'm not sure, darling. We could certainly talk about that together,' he said with a smile.

'John... Who's Billy?' you asked as his grip tightened on his fork.

'My enemy, the one who hurt you, remember?'

'Billy Butcher.. Yes, yeah I remember now. He was why I was in the hospital,' you said as he seemed to relax a little.

'Exactly, sweetheart. He's not a good man. He'll kill you the first chance he gets.'

'But...you won't let it happen right?' you asked nervously as he smiled.

'Of course I won't, baby. You're my everything,' he said as you smiled and relaxed a little.

The last thing you had remembered was laying next to Homelander in your bed. When you woke up again you were somewhere you didn't recognise. You tried to move your hands and legs but you couldn't, you glanced down to see your body looked rough and broken. You looked up and saw Billy Butcher in front of you. 'Y/N...' he whispered as your eyes widened.

'No... Get away,' you whispered, but you couldn't move. He kneeled down and held your face in his hand.

'It's okay, you're okay. We can't keep this up much longer. We're doing everything we can to save you,' he said.

'Save...me? You want me dead.'

'No, I don't. I don't know what that bastard has told you, but I don't want you bloody dead. Me and the boys are trying to get to you. We used your old body to get you back. Whatever he tells you isn't true, Y/N. He does not love you,' he said. You looked at him and he could see a small bit of hope in your eyes.

'I remember your hands on me. You weren't hurting me, but...he does. He hurts me,' you whispered. Billy looked at you sadly and stroked your cheek.

'I'm doing everything I can to get you back.'

'I know I'm not real... What am I?' you asked.

'You're artificial, something made just for Homelander's sick pleasures. You aren't his wife, he doesn't love you,' he said.

'You tried to kill me,' you whispered.

'No, that didn't happen. He's made you believe anything he wants. It's not true,' he said.

'We don't have much longer,' Frenchie said as Billy kept his eyes on you.

'I'll find you, okay? I'll fuckin find you,' he whispered. You smiled softly and looked at him.

'Will you kiss me?' you said. He smiled sadly and pressed a soft kiss to your lips. Your body went limp again as he looked at you sadly.

'Not much longer, darlin...'

When Homelander woke you up the next morning you just stayed staring at the wall. 'Can I dream?' you whispered.

'What?'

'Can I have dreams?'

'No, you don't dream. You don't even technically sleep. Why?' he asked. You wanted to know if what you'd seen was real or not.

'No reason, just a thought.' You sat up and tried to keep your mind off what you had seen. You didn't need Homelander finding out and resetting you again. Homelander knelt in front of you and held your hands.

'You don't have to worry about anything, okay? You just have to do what I say, that's it. Can you do that, baby?' he asked as you smiled and nodded. You felt a rush of heat through your body at the chance to obey him.

'Of course, that's all I want to do for you. I want to make you happy,' you said as he smiled triumphantly and kissed you.

'Good girl. Go get some breakfast ready,' he said before heading to the shower.

You stood in the kitchen and began making some breakfast. Your cut some mushrooms up and tossed them into the pan before you stared down at the knife.

"You enjoying that, sweet girl?" A voice repeated in your head as you put the knife down and tried to ignore it. You felt arms wrap around you and closed your eyes.

'Can you kiss me?' you whispered. You turned around and he kissed you softly. "It's nice to kiss when I know it can go wherever I want." You pulled away as the memory ran through your mind.

'You look confused, darling.'

"You look star struck, darlin." The voice from before said as you stared at Homelander.

'I um...sorry, I'm okay. Why don't you sit down? I made bacon, eggs and mushrooms,' you said with a smile. He returned your smile before he made his way to the table and sat down with a sigh. You played up his breakfast before sitting at the other end of the table.

'I need to turn you off while I go away this weekend,' Homelander said as you looked at him in confusion.

'Turn me off?'

'Yes, you won't feel it,' he said. Something had changed in the way he spoke to you, or even looked at you.

'John... I know that I'm not real, but you love me. Right?' you asked. He looked at you and paused for a moment before he smiled.

'Of course, darling. You're my entire world and you love me too. Of course you do,' he said.

'Yeah... Of course.'

The time came for Homelander to go away, he held the device and you rushed forward. 'Wait... Please don't turn me off. I'll be good, please,' you said as he looked at you.

'Baby, it's just for the weekend okay?' he said as he held your face. You smiled before he switched the device off and sighed once you collapsed to the ground.

When you woke up again you didn't know how long has passed. You felt a hand against your cheek as you opened your eyes.

'John...?' you whispered.

'Y/N,' the voice whispered as you looked up to see Billy. Yourbeyes softened and you lunged forward to hug him. He sighed and hugged you back tightly. 'Bloody hell, love. It's good to see you.'

'I don't...understand any of this. Why are you so familiar,' you whispered as you closed your eyes and nuzzled into him.

'Its a long story. We gotta get you out of here,' he said as he picked you up in his arms. You glanced around to see all the lights out. 'Frenchie hacked Vought's mainframe. We've got enough time to get you out,' Billy said as you looked at him. He held you tightly and ran to the elevator with you in his arms.

'Billy... This won't work, he won't let me go this easy,' you whispered. He looked down at you with a sad look.

'I have to bloody try, darlin. I haven't stopped thinking about you, and I don't know why,' he grumbled. You held onto him tightly as he ran out of the elevator towards the doors. You held tighter onto him and closed your eyes.

'This won't work... I'm sorry,' you whispered as he rushed out of the building. He felt you go limp in his arms as he looked down to see you unconscious in his arms.

'No... Come on!' he said as he ran with your body towards the van with the boys. He got you inside and laid you down.

'It's what I thought... They've connected her to Vought. If she leaves she can't exist,' Frenchie said as Billy closed his eyes.

'Well, you can bloody try!'

'We don't have enough energy to run her systems! She can't exist unless she's in Vought,' Frenchie said. Billy groaned and picked you back up before rushing into the building again. You woke up and looked at Billy. He glanced down at you sadly.

'What's happening?'

'You can't exist unless you're in Vought tower,' Billy whispered. 'I'll fuckin figure something out... Okay? I'll get you back,' he said as you smiled softly.

'I know you will,' you said.

'Billy! We have to go!' Marvin yelled as Billy placed you on the floor. You sat up and looked at him as he pulled out your device.

'It'll be easier when I do this,' he said as he started going through the settings. You looked at him in confusion.

'Billy, what are you doing?'

'Erasing your memories of me. Once I'm gone you'll be happier until I find you again,' he explained.

'No, please don't do this. Billy, please just let me have this,' you whsiepred as you felt tears in your eyes. He looked at you and smiled softly.

'I'll find you one day, okay?'

'Billy, don't do this,' you begged before he erased the data. He looked into your eyes and watched as your recognition of him disappeared. He smiled sadly and looked back down at the device and turned the obedience all the way up.

Recently there had been a criminal on the loose killing men. The bat family had been working hard to try and catch them, but they couldn’t. Jason was out one night when he saw a mysterious figure darting into an alleyway. He followed closely behind and kept the comms quiet so Dick wouldn’t hear him. He noticed a girl walking home alone and a man following her. The man grabbed her and tried to undress her before he suddenly disappeared and the woman ran. Jason watched the mysterious figure that seemed to be surrounded by shadows drag the man further into the alleyway. He stayed hidden and watched as the figure pinned the man down and carved something into his forehead before shooting him in him in the heart. He jumped down and began clapping slowly as you turned around and glared at him from under your hood. ‘You know, I like the way you work.’

‘Red hood,’ you growled as he smiled and stepped closer.

‘The one and only,’ he said as he glanced at the man and saw the same word “rapist” carved into his skin that all the other man had. ‘It’s a good message to send. Might I suggest something else?’

‘What?’

‘I have no problem with killing these low life men, no one will miss them. I’m sure you’ve got some targets that have quite the influence around the city.’

‘I do, but they aren’t exactly easy to get to,’ you said as you turned around.

‘Killing them would be a good message to send, but an even better one? Strip them naked, carve that word into their forehead and leave them somewhere public,’ he said as you smirked.

‘I always knew you still had an evil streak despite being with the bats,’ you said. He stepped closer and looked down at you.

‘I might be on good terms with them, but I still don’t like their way of doing things. I have a few targets to take care of as well. How about a team up?’ He asked.

‘I’m not great at teamwork.’

‘Me neither, I guess it’s worth a shot,’ he said as he held his hand out. ‘I can help you get to these men you want to hurt. I can also protect you,’ he said. You narrowed your eyes before taking his hand.

‘You follow my rules, not the bats,’ you said. He chuckled softly and shook your hand.

‘You’ve got a deal.’

A week later you met up with Jason on top of a run down building and went over your plans. Your first target was the mayors son. ‘He’s meeting up with the woman he’s having an affair with tonight. He won’t have anyone with him,’ you said as Jason nodded.

You headed out to the apartment building he always met the woman in and hid in the stairwell. Once you heard him coming you nodded to Jason who quickly leapt down and knocked him out. You smiled and stepped out of the shadows. ‘Still got some robin skills in there?’

‘Shut it, princess,’ he said as he grabbed the man and threw him over his shoulder. ‘Lead the way.’

You both made it to city hall, your goal was to leave him on the front steps for everyone to see. You stripped his clothes off and administered a sedative before you began to carve the word into his forehead.

‘No amount of plastic surgery will get rid of this scar,’ you muttered as you stepped back and looked at your handy work. You smiled before Jason pulled out a red can of spray paint.

‘One last decoration,’ he said before he began to write all of the mans crimes on the steps in front of his unconscious body.

‘I like the way you work, hood,’ you said with a smirk as you both stood back and looked at the scene. ‘Same time next week?’ You said as he chuckled and turned to you.

‘See you then, princess.’

Jason had planned to meet up with you a week later. He waited for about an hour before he got a text from Bruce. “Batcave, now.”

He groaned and decided to head to the batcave. When he made it there he saw you tied to a chair with a smirk on your face.

‘Hey, hood,’ you said. Dick looked at Jason with a disappointed glare.

‘You’re working with her?’ He grumbled.

‘He’s not working with me. I threatened him to do some work for me,’ you said as Jason stepped forward.

‘You don’t have to cover for me, princess. Yes, I’m working with her. So what?’

‘Because we said no more killing, Jason!’ Bruce said as you chuckled.

‘Please, he didn’t kill anyone. He fucking spray painted some words on city hall, I was the one that did all the killing and mutilation of rapists,’ you said.

‘We have one rule Jason, we deal with justice. Not revenge,’ Bruce said as you rolled your eyes.

‘Are you idiots even listening to me!’

‘How long have you been working with her?’ Dick said.

‘I helped her once, okay? You should be thanking me, I stopped her from murdering the mayors son and just ruining his life instead,’ Jason said.

‘And what evidence do you have, Jason? The only thing you went off was listening to a deranged individual,’ Dick said. You watched them bicker before you suddenly stood up and the restraints dropped to the ground. ‘What the hell,’ Dick muttered as you smirked.

‘Oops. Listen, if you want to be mad at someone be mad at me. How terrible I give rapists what they deserve,’ you said. Bruce stepped forward and looked down at you.

‘We have a justice system for a reason.’

‘A justice system them protects white men? Of course you think it’s great, you’re a white man!’

‘It’s not for you to decide what happens to them,’ Bruce said as you laughed.

‘Oh sure, I’ll leave it up to the judges who let them get off with a bribe. It’s not revenge it’s just evening the playing field. They’ve ruined women’s lives so I’ll ruin theirs.’

‘And what proof do you have of the mayors son being a rapist?’ He grumbled as you stepped closer.

‘The proof of many security cameras, witness accounts, victims coming forward oh and the fact that he fingered me after drugging me,’ you said as Bruce froze and continued to stare at you. Jason stepped forward and looked at you.

‘Might I suggest we cut his penis off too?’ Jason said as Dick and Bruce glared at him. You chuckled softly and smirked.

‘Enough, Jason. I’ll deal with you later. You’re not leaving, we aren’t letting you ruin more lives,’ Bruce said.

‘There’s just one problem with that, bats. I don’t exactly exist,’ you said as he narrowed his eyes.

‘What the hell do you mean?’ He asked. You looked at Jason and smirked.

'Erase everything and make her fucking perfect! Make her love me, make her obsessed with me!' Homelander yelled as you laid on a table with your limbs restrained.

'We can try completely resetting her, but there's no promise she won't remember bits and pieces from her old programming,' one of the men said before Homelander lasered his head off. You gasped and closed your eyes and looked away. He turned to another man.

'Think you can do it?'

'Of course, sir... Yes, we'll reset her and program her to be perfect,' he said as Homelander smiled. He leaned over you and brushed a hand through your hair.

'Say goodbye to your disobedience.'

'I hate you,' you whispered. He chuckled and continued to play with your hair.

'We'll see about that.'

When you woke up again you felt odd. You wanted to feel someone's hand in yours but you weren't sure who's. You felt someone take your hand and opened your eyes.

'Morning, sleeping beauty,' the man said as you looked at him in confusion.

'Where am I?' you whispered.

'You're in the hospital at Vought... You were in an accident,' he said. 'Do you know me, darling? Do you remember?' he asked as he reached up and brushed your hair out of your face.

'You're...my husband,' you whispered as he smiled.

'That's right, sweetheart. I'm your husband, John. Or homelander, but you call me John. You're the only one I let do that,' he said with a small laugh. You smiled fondly and squeezed his hand.

'My hero... The world's hero.'

He chuckled again and kissed your hand. 'I think you're the hero.'

'What happened to me...?'

'Well, being a hero's wife means sometimes people come after you. You went out to go shopping and one of my enemies, my main enemy Billy Butcher... He ran you down with his car,' Homelander said as you looked at him in shock.

'Why didn't he kill me?'

'He tried to, that's when I found you and stopped him. You're safe now, baby. Okay?' he said. You smiled as he kissed your hands again.

You eventually made it back to the penthouse and Homelander made sure you were laying down on the couch. Afterall you had just been in a "serious accident." Homelander placed a glass of water down for you and kissed your forehead.

'I have to go to a meeting, but I'll be right back okay?' he said as you smiled and nodded.

'I'll miss you,' you said as he chuckled and kissed you softly.

'I'll miss you more. Get some rest,' he said before leaving. You smiled and watched him leave before you sighed and closed your eyes.

You woke up when Homelander switched you back on, you slowly sat up and smiled. 'Oh gosh... I think I slept the whole time you were gone,' you said as he smiled.

'Good, you needed rest. How about we make dinner together?'

'No, it's okay I'll make you dinner. You've been working all day,' you said as he smiled and kissed your cheek.

'That would be lovely, sweetheart.'

You stood in the kitchen and began cooking for your husband. You always felt so at home with him, cooking, cleaning and whatever he wanted. You hated the fact that he wasn't even in the room, you felt so alone and afraid without him.

'John...' you called out. He walked into the kitchen and looked at you.

'What's wrong, baby?'

'Sorry, I just needed to see you. I know you were in the other room I was just lonely,' you said as he smiled and stepped closer. He wrapped his arms around you from behind and kissed your neck.

'I'm right here, baby. You can't go a second without me, can you?' he teased as he nuzzled into your neck. You sighed and leaned against him.

'I just really miss you when I can't see you,' you whispered as he smiled wickedly and held you tighter.

'Good, that's how I like it to be,' he whispered as he continued to kiss your neck while you cooked. You felt happy and safe with his arms around you, like it was where you belonged.

Once you'd prepared dinner you sat down with your husband before you paused and looked down at your empty place setting. 'I can't...eat. Can I?' you muttered.

'Not yet, darling. Just because of your medication after the accident,' he said with a smile as he began to eat. You paused and felt like your mind was trying to remember something.

'Why can't I remember my family?' you whispered as your fists clenched beneath the table. Homelander stood up and rushed to your side.

'Hey, it's okay. You went through an accident, your mind is still fuzzy. You...don't have family. You grew up alone, but you have me now, okay? I'm your family,' he said with a smile as he kissed your cheek. You smiled softly and looked at him.

'I'm sorry, everything just feels so weird,' you whispered as he held your face in his hand.

'It's okay, I'm here to help.'

The next day Homelander had switched you off when he went to deal with some meetings, when he returned he turned you back on and started kissing you roughly. You leaned back in shock and looked at him.

'Is everything okay?'

'I've had a hard day, I just need you, okay?' he grumbled. You had never seen him this angry. He gripped your hips roughly and pressed you into the couch as you tried to keep up with his aggressive pace.

'J-Just slow down a bit, please,' you whispered as he tore you shirt off. You gasped and looked at him in fear.

'Quiet,' he growled as your mouth automatically shut. You continued to stare at him without being able to say another word. You tried to speak but nothing came out. He tore your pants off and you gripped his arm as he stared into your eyes that were filled with fear.

After what felt like an eternity you laid on the couch while Homelander was in the shower. You were laying on your side staring out the window as you thought about what just happened. Why couldn't you talk all of a sudden? Why was he suddenly so rough? You heard a knock at the door and stood up, forgetting you were still naked. You opened it to see a red haired woman. She stared at you in shock as you glanced down and noticed you were naked. You rushed to the couch and grabbed a blanket to cover yourself with as she stepped inside.

'And who exactly are you?' she asked with her hands on her hips. You went to speak but you could barely even move your mouth. She raised an eyebrow in confusion before you heard the shower turn off. You smiled a little before rushing into the bedroom, hopefully Homelander would come out and speak to the stranger. You got changed into some clothes before you pressed your ear against the door and listened to Homelander.

'Firecracker, how the hell did you get in here?'

'A naked woman who wouldn't speak to me opened the door,' she said.

'Just...ignore her. What the hell do you want?'

You drowned out the rest of their conversation and curled up on the bed. The door opened and you glanced up at Homelander. 'Why did you open the door to her?' he asked. You sat up and went to speak but nothing came out. 'Fucking hell, speak!' he shouted as you flinched.

'I'm sorry, I heard someone at the door and assumed you would want me to handle it. Why are you yelling at me? I'm scared, John,' you whispered. He moved closer and titled your face up to look at him.

'I'm sorry I scared you, okay?'

'The way...we just had sex. I didn't like it,' you whispered. He sighed and looked down at you, he grabbed a device out of his back pocket.

'No, darling. You loved it, didn't you?' he asked as he tweaked a few settings. You closed your eyes and tensed up.

'I...loved it?' you whispered in confusion. You opened your eyes and looked around.

'Of course you did, sweetheart. You love when I'm rough with you because that's what you're good for. Isn't it? You're mine, you do as I say,' he said. You looked up at him and smiled.

'Yes... Yes, of course love. I'm sorry, I've just been a bit off,' you said. He smile triumphantly and kissed you.

'That's alright, you're still recovering.'

After a few weeks Homelander had tweaked you enough that you were almost perfect, he didn't mind a few set backs. You stood in the mirror brushing your hair and staring at yourself in the mirror. You placed the brush down and ran your finger down the side of your face. 'Why do I feel so...'

'Sweetheart!' Homelander called out as you smiled. You stared in the mirror as you smiled and realised it was involuntary. You tried to stop smiling, you even tried to move your lips downwards with your fingers but it wouldn't work. Homelander came in and wrapped his arms around you from behind. 'Everything okay?'

'Yes, of course. It's perfect!'

'You look beautiful, are you nervous for your first public debut?' he asked as he pressed a soft kiss to your neck.

'I am a bit... What if people hate me?' you asked as he chuckled.

'Please, that's impossible. Everyone will adore you, sweetheart.'

You were sitting in a chair behind a stage as your husband spoke with people. The red haired woman who had walked into your apartment approached you. You smiled kindly. 'I don't think I ever actually introduced myself. I'm Y/N.'

'Oh, I know who you are. Homelander's lovely wife none of us even knew existed,' she said.

'Oh, it's just that I didn't want to be in the public's eye just yet. I met John...Homelander before he was this big hero,' you said as she looked at you and laughed softly.

'It's okay, I know the truth. He's very honest with me,' she said. You looked at her in confusion.

'The...truth?'

'You know about how his whole childhood and upbringing in a PR stunt. No mother, no father,' she said. You stood up and looked at her with concern in your eyes.

'What are you talking about? He grew up in the suburbs, he has parents,' you whispered.

'Oh, look at that. He didn't tell you? What a shame, I guess he just values me more,' she said with a laugh. She walked away and you stood in stunned silence. Homelander smiled and came over to you.

'What's wrong, sweetheart?'

'Just that woman said...some weird things,' you muttered as he held your face in his hands.

'Listen, that's Firecracker. She's...in love with me, when she found out I had a wife she got jealous and started rumours,' he said. You sighed and glanced at Firecracker to see her watching you.

'She wouldn't hurt me, right?'
