So from the end of part 3 it seems that Agares has Beleth pushed in a corner and he has no choice but to transform fully. Especially since he knows that his comrades are in danger and this is escalating.

Beleth is now a giant devil cat!

So my intial theory about him being related to Naberius... unfortunately was killed just now...but I mean they could be cousins at this point. Or you know just not related at all because I don't know how to link together a dog devil and a cat devil lol

so that headcanon was fun while it lasted...

But even though he's transformed into a giant kitty, Agares doesn't give a shit, and proceeds to try and overpower Beleth by sending his devils toward him in a fit of rage so fierce that his eyes a bursting blood.

Gusion and Bathin are watching helplessly as these devils tear him apart because Vassago did a thing

So, it would make sense, due to Vassago's appearance that he is a spellcaster just like Bathin. A pretty powerful one too.

But when all hope seems like it's lost, that familar darkness suddenly washes over everything...swallowing up all that it touches. Devils are falling, Agares' power is stifled, Beleth is back to being in his devil form....

Oh Belphie...I love you my stinka.

So for the majority of this scene it's just a blank screen. Since it's been like that for like a couple days I assume that's not an error and just suppose to represent that it's so dark no one can see each other that well. iguess

But during this, Belphie starts talking about how he dozed off but that's why he needs everyone because he can't defend himself while he's asleep (okay noted, he's vulnerable when sleeping) Also he has a thick needle in Agares' ear so I'm assuming that's a piercing type weapon which would explain all the piercings on his body.

And then he just keeps going on to explain that he's planning on ruling Niflheim, needs Agares and his men to coroperate and he gives out his 5 rules that everyone will need to follow in order to make this work

while he's going over his rules, he mentions Satan being an old acquaintance of his that's plenty to handle. I'm laughing to myself because I knew it, Satan is the one he's mostly closer to was my original guess and it seems like I am correct on that front based on what he says here.

But what I gather, these rules aren't too difficult to follow, and he's just basically sayin' he's not for this monarchy bs, he's just keeping the peace, wants folks to sleep well, and keep it that until it's time for him to go ni-ni for good.

(lmao even with these rules Astra herself fucks up and it's funny btw. Nova however easily follows everything just because Belphie truly ain't asking for much)

But once again...Agares is not playing around and refuses to give the throne up for any reason.

SO Belphie is like damn really? Fine. And then he rolls the dice, it lands on 7 and then-

He turns into this fucking thing.

(now everyone remember...before he did that he said to Agares all he has to say is "I yield this place" and it will end everything)

This made me cackle. Beleth clearly hasn't seen this before and was buggin the fuck out lmao (like everyone else was because yo what is this)

So...how this thing attacks is that it screams first, and then the eye that's on the very top of it shoots out a single beam of black light and it destroys everything

by the way let me talk about that fucking scream they added in the game for sec because wtf was that even for? it was like late at night that I was playing this, just vibing and reading quietly and suddenly this fucking loud ass AHHHHHHHHHHHHH womanly scream that sounds like it should be in a damn b-horror flick comes out of my speakers and I'm pissed the fuck off because I flinched hard. And then it does it AGAIN without warning like? For someone who doesn't like sudden noises like this when hyperfocusing it was very jarring and annoying. This is why I don't like those jumpscare things because it's usually accompanied by a sudden loud scream that's more bothersome than the actual thing that jumped out.

Anyways....so Agares and everyone else is shitting their pants at this point because well it's already done two attacks and it seems Belphie is asleep while inside this thing (which is funny to me) and so Beleth is just like "srsly Agares just fucking give it up before you kill everyone" and it takes him looking at Vassago weakly calling out to him for him to even say he yields.

It was barely loud enough to be heard but it worked because everything suddenly just goes back to normal as if that monster thing didn't pop out and destroy nearly the entire population in two beam attacks.

Quick little theory here, but I think when we finally get Belphie's card that monster will be his ultimate attack and we'll get to use it. I think before then he didn't have this power before he took that halo from Beleth. So perhaps it's a combination of summoning angel based monsters that use Belphie's darkness that swallow everything in sight and silences it.

I'm excited to see that though if it is true and more lore about Belphie's powers overall and how they work.

I think it's funny that Belphie's like "welp that's over and done with, thanks, I had a deadline by 6 so-"

And Agares is just standing there dumbfounded about this entire thing.

So Belphie calls out the fly that Beel had there as a spy and relays a message. Basically ain't no one is allowed to set foot in Niflheim without his permission otherwise they ain't gonna exist in no universe if he has anything to do with it.

Belphie done said, he meant it.

And the fly is just like leaving to relay the message, which is funny because I think it would report to Beel first who will most likely fucking forget to tell everyone...so thats going to be fun. Though since no one is technically dead I'm assuming they did figure out eventually.

Beleth is so loyal and transparent. Also that face? (kisses hims too because he's so adorable when he's worried)

And while he's going over what's about to happen and what to do next, Belphie passes out because it's exhausting after what just happened. The story explains that he's stronger but also weak that needs protecting and I think I understand that perfectly.

A devil with such immense power he can make things dissapear without much of any kind of movement, but at the same time so much power doesn't come without a price and he's always tired and needing sleep. This is just how he will be, and Beleth at this point has mastered knowing exactly how to handle him. Because he said this is a king worth serving since he turned his back on God.

Agares saying this btw....is hot idk. Please beg me for it.

okay well...Harumon shows up and has to drag Belphie away to sleep somewhere safe and the reason Agares even said pretty please was because Haru wanted Beleth to say it lmao

But Belphie is being taken somewhere to sleep...everything is set in motion and Agares and Vassago basically have no choice but step down and let Belphie do his thing with his nobles.

Guison and Bathin are amazing btw, because not only do they come to check on Belphie, but also are concerned that Beleth hasn't slept for three years. He has insomnia so he's used to it. But look at what he says here-

And we know what he needs to do in order to sleep hehehehehehhehehe

too bad we don't get to see who it is that's gonna be his partner for the night and Bathin was real quiet during all that....

ANYWAYS

so it's hundreds of years later in the future! We see here that Belphie's room has gotten an upgrade, real king shit.

But he keeps Beleth's bed because it's most comfortable for him and he repairs it often (love that for him and it probs smells like Beleth. I like to think that also comforts him)

So Beleth has come to tell him that Avisos needs help, and Belphie does the dice thing in order to make a decision (that's wild but alright if it works it works)

Finish the battle by four? Return to attend his afternoon cravings?

Nah what he mean by that (⁄ ⁄•⁄ω⁄•⁄ ⁄)

No srsly because I'm sitting over here thinking that means he knows that Beleth likes to bang after battles, and he's got cravings which could mean food, sex, anything. I'm sure at this point in time they've done it before. SO yeahhhhhhh

and the way Beleth was like "I will."

yeah they fuckin' afterwards

Anyways so we go to the hallway, Agares and Vassago are waiting for Beleth so they can go and do battle or whatever and Agares goes into villain mode and is like "I acknowledge your power but not your soveirgnity and I will kill you if you displease me" and it's like damn okay. But at least we know he likes eating oranges. lol

And that concludes the Niflheim event!!! It's wild that we got so much lore about these devils in this event and I had a fun time reading all of it and sitting up here paraphrasing and adding commentary for ya'll to read and enjoy.
