Yeah, I still think about these robots.
The idea of this started out as being a track for a beginning level in the theoretical story I have for these four, and just became me experimenting with a bunch of stuff. Kind of vapor-wavey, kind of beach-y, and according to the friends I sent previews of this track to, sounds like it's straight out of Celeste.
Me, listening to The Dark Truth when it plays: Woah, this is really spooky and hard-hitting. It's almost a shame we'll only hear this song in this moment, but I'm really glad it's here.
Me, listening to Dark Place: Oh my god?
Man, oh man. Chapter 4, huh. I still have some stuff with Chapter 3's OST that I'd like to have fun with, but Dark Place really just called out to me. It's one of those pieces that makes me wish I could just keep listening, and that's where a lot of this arrangement comes from. The leitmotif weaving is very self-indulgent here, but hey, sometimes that's the thing you do for joy.

Hello again, people who found me through Legend of Zelda.
This started out as two ideas. The chromatic scale walkdown on the string quartet was its own thing, at first. I knew I wanted Riju to have something regal and imposing. When I realized that those two ideas combined together perfectly, the string quartet became a core part of the song. I think it really took off from there.

This is a song I first started writing October of last year. It was another song based on a dream I had, so I did a bit of drawing for this to replicate some of the things that happened in said dream, as well as some other things that correlate to the song. When I completed the first draft of it in November, I sent it to my friends. I had finished recording after a certain…event.
"I’m wondering if it’s too aggressive to post tonight."
"Yeah, probably good to wait a bit."
"Glad I checked in then, I was kind of on the fence about it."
Which is good! It gave me some times to polish the lyrics, re-record the vocals, and think more about what the song means to me. It's in a similar category as A Song About Pain where sure, I can see some people relating to this or seeing themself in this song, but ultimately it's a song I wrote for myself.
