The Principle of Joy - BMW 1 Series This post is to commemorate my Car's 14th Birthday. Happy Birthday Bria 🎂💙 #BMW #E87 #1Series #BIMMERLOVE 10th February, 2006 - München Plant, DE 🇩🇪 2004 saw a very important and successful game changer for BMW with the debut of the brand new BMW 1 Series. A completely new platform to the BMW range boasting the same tried and tested characteristics of its sister models, and its successors to come. "The only 1 in its class" BMW was very proud to have a new Shortback (hatchback) class sporting BMWs timeless design formula with a long profile bonnet, an elegant, high waterline, and aesthetic curves concluding the rear. The car is introduced to us by a front end paying homage to the BMW 2002 Turbo, whilst proudly sporting the BMW Kidney Grilles angled forwards much like in the original 2002. Beneath the bodywork one found BMW's classic 50/50 weight configuration along with a rear wheel drive powertrain with the addition of new, award winning, engine line-ups, ultra precise hydraulic steering, and a new 5-link rear suspension system giving this car the best handling in its class. Hence why BMW marketed it as the only 1 in its class with such prominent features to which I've only named a few. I've made this short edit of a few clips I had from BMW's marketing campaign archives, along with a few personal touches of my own. They aren't kidding when they claim that their cars are "Engineered for Emotions". Since the day I've held the keys to this wonderful machine, I have yet to find an instance where I wasn't smiling in my 1er. There's something truly addicting about the dynamics of this car, which I can truly say is irreplicable amongst other manufacturers, at least, in my eyes. The german-style over-engineering on this car means that you'll keep discovering new innovative, and cleverly designed things in this car till your very last breath. "Freude am Fahren" - "Sheer Driving Pleasure" - stands very true and proudly so! It's an intense feeling which prevents anyone from viewing this vehicle as simply just a mode of transport from A to B.
