“Hubert! Did someone hurt you?”

“Not before I hurt them.”

“Christ kid what what hell happened to you?”

“Just--... a fight.”

“Is this even apple juice..?”

“Let me---...” taking a swig, he shook his head. “Nope, no way.”

“What? I ordered apple juice–is it supposed to taste all weird like that though..?”

“Not---...not necessarily, Nilla.”

“I want to.”

“Fine.”

“No, no. Mon pauvre bébé. I’ll take care of you.”

“-----...You don’t have to.”

“Mon cher! Ce qui s'est passé? Are you okay?!”

“Hm---.. yeah, I’m fine.”

Toulouse shrugged. “It’s alright. I’ve done better. Merci, though.” He glanced over at Hubert and smiled. “Tu me manques.”

“Honestly, I wouldn’t be able to do that.” He shrugged, smiling at Toulouse. 

Toulouse stood up so Hubert could see the painting. “Just a little painting.”

“This is awesome, T.”

“Good. I was just..working on a personal project.”

“Oh---... What’s it like?”

Toulouse turned around and smiled. “Hi.” He grabbed a towel off the table he was working at and wiped the paint off of his hands. “How are you?”

Hubert smiled as he closed the door behind him. “I’m good---...” he said, sitting on a dry area on the art bench. “How are you?”

“Oui? Come inside.”

“S’up---.. thought I’d drop by.”

“I can come back later?”

“Hey, no, it’s all good.”

“Moi?”

“Oui.”
