This was an amazing excursion to Monkey Temple (Galwar Bagh) or Galtaji Temple, outside of Jaipur in Rajasthan, India.
We had researched online and were keen to see, but not sure how keen we would be to see the monkeys.
The rhesus macaque monkeys are fed and maintained by locals (as many animals are due to religious reasons).
Galtaji Temple is an ancient Hindu pilgrimage site from the early 15th century as a natural spring flows from the rock. It supplies three levels of pools at the temple. The first is the largest and not generally used, the second is used for bathing by locals, and the topmost is for the monkeys.
Visiting was a surreal experience. We used our Dji drone for footage of the amazing Monkey Temple and hope you find it as fascinating a place as we did.
