In episode 3 when Ann asks Anne if she has ‘done this before’ to which Anne replies ‘of course not’ - direct look to camera eye roll wink wink nudge nudge .. love it.

So much is made of this admission with 4th wall break, but it is never mentioned again in dialogue terms during season one. Do we think that Ann believed her in that instance or over the course of the series? Or is it something she simply did not think about?

Don’t know if there is any evidence in the diaries to prove either way.

When not even the BBC continuity announcer can hold hold back on the love for Suranne Jones and Gentleman Jack.

Which an absolute travesty. But hey ho..

So we all know that Suranne Jones is going to be nominated (and win) all the awards for Gentleman Jack. Fingers crossed for the Emmys next week. What are people’s thoughts on the sequence they could possibly use to represent Suranne’s utterly glorious performance. The hilltop scene? The raffle ticket scene- the Ainsworth scene- an edited sequence of all the walking .. the list is endless..what are your favourites?

Ok no Emmy nods but still - let us all wallow in the knowledge that we live in a world where there is BGJ and AGJ and we have season two on the way..
