     “    I have not done something that I would not do normally. Understand? You had allowed yourself to become entrapped with the inevitable. I suggest that from here on out that you choose your words with a utmost sincere thoughtfulness. Letting that thick tongue of yours flap about in your mouth could lead to a dreadful end for you.    “   He warned carefully, allowing his words to seep into her mind like a foreign invader. She needed to understand, to comprehend the trap.

     Brian Cox’s version was so quick, so on top of everything Will was saying that if you weren’t someone that was prepared, his Hanni/bal could have you in over your head so quickly that you wouldn’t know what to do. You wouldn’t even recall what you were saying and if you did, you’d begin to question. So quickly he latches on and sinks into you, like a leech. Manhunter is incredibly underrated and so is Brian’s performance as Lec/ter. 

      Anthony Hop/kins is ofc the honorable mention here. His version of Hanni/bal was much slower, like a creeping terror, but still had that mockery in his tone that’s a shared trait between his version and Brian’s version; and in my opinion, the vibe that I get when reading the novels. Yet Anthony's wasn’t as aggressive, not in the aspect of being blunt mind you. It was more of a slow roll, instead of immediately being abrasive. He took his time with Clar/ice, albeit that time was short. Still, his version was like a Tiger playing with it’s meal, before lurching down and going in for the kill. 

     Gasp/ard Ulli/el is incredibly unique all on his own because he’s the ONLY actor who has portrayed younger Lec/ter, kinda making his version unique all on its own. His brutality at moments held an incredible weight because he was able to contain the eloquent air that Lec/ter has naturally as a character. Again, it’s so hard to place him among the others in my opinion because he is suppose to be younger and isn’t playing an imprisoned Lec/ter. Gasp/ard is an actor I thoroughly enjoy in general and even though time has gone on and it’s been, what ten years since the film, I would love to see him as Hanni/bal again. 

     Mads  Mikk/elsen, I mean, need I even mention him? In my opinion, his Hanni/bal was the hardest to read. Goddamn I loved it, because his motives, his emotions, his motives were so good, that you’d wait with baited breath to see what he’d do next. Because he’s the Hanni/bal we’ve seen the most with the most screen time, I think we got to know him best. He was slow and melodic with everything he did, his voice alluring, entrapping you with his ideas and ideologies. And even though he still held many of the traits that we’ve seen before, I would say he was the less aggressive, and that could have been mostly because he was hiding in plain sight. All the other Lec/ters were DEALING with events; whether it was a kind of revenge, or because of his current situation of being imprisoned.
