ANYWAY so upon some extensive googling (and car nerding out) I came to the conclusion that: a) the writers use different models of the car in different episodes (which is frustrating asf for continuity but whatever) and b) that thing is cramped as FUCK.

So the model Stiles drives is a 1980 Jeep CJ-5:

From the outside the Jeep looks super spacious (refer to photo 1) so you would assume that it has a decent amount of space at the front. However you would be wrong. Stiles' jeep is about the same size on the inside as a Jimny Jeep (e.g. small as fuck) as opposed to a Wrangler.

You may be asking: so what's the issue with all of this?

WELL. You may have noticed that the characters in TW are all grown ass tall adults and in times of crisis (such as in the show or a fic situation) they are not fitting into that thing. If we were to stick to the model that the writers say that the Jeep is in the show, the interior is small, metal and fitted with a grip bar on the passenger side.

It's important to remember that the CJ-5 is a SUV (sports utility vehicle) and was made to off-road. But as it is a Jeep it is built for sustainability not comfort, so the seats are pretty close to the metal dash.

Going back to the continuity issue that the teen wolf has with the car, I believe that due to this car's very tiny, expensive and rare nature it just wasn't meant for filming. All of the pictures I've looked at of the car in the show are actually closer to the CJ-7 model, which is bigger, more comfortable. (But similar in every way from looks to interior, the only difference being a bigger chassis.)

As you can see, this model is much closer to the car we see in picture 1 and is much easier to incorporate into a story. The CJ-7 model ran for much longer than the CJ-5 due to its practicality and therefore is much easier to find parts for etc etc. Definitely much easier for the pack to run for their lives in!

The main notes I've taken away from this research spiral (all for one scene mind you) is that Stiles' jeep is bigger than canon lets us believe. If we keep using the CJ-5 like in canon then you must take into account two things:

That due to the car's rarity (this model was only in production for 3 years) the parts are rare as fuck and therefore very expensive. Something Stiles would not be able to afford to fix or replace in any capacity without help (wink wink Derek) or extensive mechanical knowledge.

You can probably only fit two people in it (unless someone sits in the back with their knees to their chest and is perfectly okay with being cramped in for the journey). NOT practical for fic use unless you really want to drag Stiles' car lol.

Appreciation

Am I ever going to get tired of drawing this guy? Probably not.

Am I taking out all of my OWN angsty feelings on him? Absolutely yes.

Am I going to fix the blotchy shading? Nahhhhh.

This one started to feel overworked so I had to let it go a little earlier than I planned, but DANG does it feel good to draw again. (And nobody point out that his piercing keeps switching sides. It lives on whichever side I want to draw it on, okay?)
