One thing I’ve always found fascinating about the Eldar is their philosophy. Unlike humans, who cling to the God-Emperor, Eldar actually know what lies beyond death: endless torment in Slaanesh’s grasp.

That certainty gives them a strange kind of existential crisis baked into their culture. They don’t get to hope for a heaven. They live with the knowledge that their end is fixed. In a way, it’s like realizing “life is meaningless” before you even start.

Different factions take that truth in different directions. The Drukhari chose nihilism and hedonism: we’re all doomed, so party as hard as you can before the fall. The Craftworlders, though, leaned into something closer to existentialism: since death is torment, what matters is how we live now. That’s where the Path system comes in, discipline, self-restraint, and the pursuit of mastery as a way to give meaning to a doomed life.

Come to think if it, it’s kind of wild. In the middle of a grimdark setting where their species is literally dying, an individual Craftworld Eldar still has the luxury to embark on this deeply personal journey of self-discovery.

Okay so expanding on the tags of a recent reblog because it’s stuck in my head. While I do very much experience the “I’m this character” thing as other fiction kin do. Though unlike other fictionkin while I have an ip I do come from I’m not from a specific media source. Like the memories/experiences I recall are kinda involuntary. Like normally if I make a character for like a TTRPG or writing project I’ll spend time like making the character and thinking up a backstory but this one just kinda came to me and I’ve been having dreams and stuff.
