Y/N: Werewolf, Jacob’s twin, fem!reader
Word Count: 2.5 K
Summary: In Y/N's room, the story showcases the deep bond she and Paul share. Their playful banter highlights the depth of their relationship, rooted in their unique experiences as werewolves. Later, everyone gathers around a cozy bonfire, enjoying a lovely evening filled with s'mores and camaraderie. Sam strums a familiar tune on his guitar that strikes a chord with the group. As Y/N joins in on the singing, with Embry and Quil adding their rhythm, the atmosphere becomes lively and vibrant. Bella observes the joy and sense of belonging among the werewolves, which makes her reflect on the warmth of their connection. This stands in stark contrast to her past experiences with vampires, leading her to contemplate the value of a werewolf's life compared to that of a vampire.
"Are you all feeling hungry? As if I even need to ask," Emily said with a playful grin as she set a big plate of muffins down on the round table where Jared and Embry were sitting. You were still in the kitchen, cleaning up the mess from helping Emily with the baking, your back turned to them. "I actually helped out this time," you chimed in, before turning around to catch a glimpse of Bella.
"Who’s this?" Emily asked, glancing between Bella, Jared, and Embry. "Bella Swan, obviously," Jared answered, taking a big bite of his muffin. "So, she’s the vampire girl," you blurted out without thinking. "And you... you’re all." Bella started to say something, but Emily jumped in. "Werewolves. I’m engaged to one, but these guys..." Emily playfully smacked Embry’s hand as he reached for another muffin. "Save some for your brothers."
"I’m a werewolf," you said, raising your hand shyly to catch Bella’s attention as she made her way to the table with muffins. "Classic Jacob, always finding a way around Sam’s gag order," Emily chimed in, shooting you a playful grin before turning back to Bella. "He didn’t say anything… or, well, he couldn’t," Bella replied, shaking her head as she tried to defend Jacob.
"It's just how it is with us wolves, we have to stick to the Alpha's orders, like it or not," you said as you stepped out of the kitchen and made your way to the table where everyone was. "You shouldn't say that to her," Jared started to say, but Embry cut in, "Jacob's going to tell her anyway."
The four of you, Emily, Jared, Embry, and yourself, shared a knowing look before Jared decided to speak up again. "Yeah, I know all the crazy things he thinks," he said, taking another bite of his muffin. Then, he turned to Bella with a mischievous smile and asked, "Want to know what he really thinks of you?"
"You don’t need some sort of superpower to figure that out," Emily said, trying to hold back her laughter with her hand. "It's just a wolf thing. We can read each other's thoughts. It's great for hunting, but pretty awkward for everything else. Especially for Y/N here." Embry added, just before you playfully smacked the back of his head to hush him. "Are you feeling freaked out yet?" Jared teased, a smirk dancing on his lips and an eyebrow raised as he glanced at Bella.
Bella locked eyes with him and said, "You’re not the first mind reader I’ve come across." Embry, grinning at Bella, added, "Jake’s right, you really have a knack for the unusual." Bella then interjected, "But I’m a bit lost. How? Why?"
"Things are getting pretty concerning around here," Sam's voice called out from behind Bella, making her turn to see him standing by the now wide-open door. "And they're only getting worse," he continued, sending a chill down her spine as he moved closer to Emily, his affection for her clear as he wrapped an arm around her waist.
Jacob and Paul's laughter filled the air as they stepped into the house right behind Sam. You, along with Jared and Embry, gathered around them, eager to hear what had gone down, and your eyes caught sight of a scar on Paul's arm. "What on earth happened to you?" you asked, gripping his bicep to get a better look at the mark. "Spill it," Embry chimed in, reaching out his hand toward Jared, who reluctantly handed over five dollars.
(Day’s Later, Emily’s Backyard)
"If the redhead is after Bella, then we’ve got some bait," Jared said, just as Jacob grabbed a four-pronged spading fork and tossed it toward Jared's head, which he caught with ease. "Bella isn’t bait," Jacob shot back. You were sitting between your boyfriend, Paul, and Jared, while Jacob, Bella, Embry, Sam, and Emily filled the picnic table, all of you enjoying a hearty breakfast together.
"Maybe I should just leave town," Bella suggested, but Sam quickly shook his head, clearly not on board with the idea. "She'll go after you, and that’ll make it tougher for us to catch her." "I really don’t think she can be caught. She’s good at slipping away from anything," she added, and then Paul, who had one hand resting on your thigh, chimed in, "Wow, she really has some special skills."
"Some of them do," Bella said, taking a bite of her pancakes, which made everyone turn to look at her, a faint blush creeping onto her cheeks. "The mind reader you mentioned? He was a bloodsucker? Can they all do that?" you asked, tilting your head in confusion. "That would be totally insane," Embry jumped in after you finished speaking. "I... probably shouldn't have," Bella replied, then firmly added, "no."
"She keeps protecting them," Paul remarked, moving his hand from your thigh to wrap around your waist, pulling you closer. "I just don’t get it. They didn’t even stick around to look out for you, girl." You shot a sympathetic look at Bella. "Come on, everyone, give her some room," Jacob chimed in, his eyes filled with understanding, but Bella just shrugged in response.
(Weeks Later, Emily’s Front Porch)
"Are you really sure this is the best decision? Remember, I’m the 'vampire girl,' right?" Bella said to Jacob, who stood next to her as Jared, Paul, Embry, and Quil rushed out of the house, with you trailing behind at a more relaxed pace. You took a moment at the charming front porch, leaning against the post that held up the roof while you waved at Bella, feeling a lot less shy than when you first met her.
"Guess who's back!" Embry shouted, his face lighting up with a huge grin. Bella was really starting to feel at home with her friends here. "Hey Bella!" Quil called out as she turned to him, her face a mix of surprise and joy. "Quil, is that really you?" she asked, and he nodded, saying, "I finally joined the pack. It's awesome to have you here, Bella. Maybe we can take a break from Jake's nonstop thoughts for a bit."
"I really hope Bella decides to give me a call," Paul started, playfully poking fun at Jacob and his usual thoughts. "Honestly, I hope she doesn’t call," Jared jumped in, and Embry added, "Maybe I should just be the one to call Bella." Quil then chimed in with a grin, "Or I could call Bella and just hang up!" The playful banter continued until Jacob finally said, "Alright, that’s enough now." Bella smiled as the guys engaged in some light roughhousing, then she lifted her head to look at you, your warm smile meeting her gaze.
Bella spots a slender girl with short hair making her way out of Emily’s house from behind you, and then she gracefully descends the steps to join the guys. "Bella, this is Leah Clearwater. She’s Harry’s daughter," Jacob explained as Bella’s eyes locked onto her. "I’m really sorry about your dad," Bella said sincerely. "If you’re here to give Jacob a hard time again, you might as well just leave," Leah shot back before moving on. Leah seemed nothing like Y/N, or at least that’s how Bella saw it.
(Weeks Later, Y/N’s Room)
"Hey, can you give me your attention for a sec?" Paul said, leaning a bit to catch your eye. You were sprawled out on your stomach on the bed right next to him, completely absorbed in your book. "I've been looking forward to reading this for ages, but I finally found a moment now that we have the bonfire later," you said, turning to him with a warm smile.
"Oh, come on, just for a little while! I’ll even read the book for you," Paul said, giving you his best puppy dog eyes. If the pack were here, they’d definitely have a field day teasing him. "Hmm... you really want my attention that much? What’s in it for me?" you asked, setting your book aside and leaning in closer, your foreheads almost touching.
"Anything you want," Paul said, leaning in a bit closer, his lips nearly brushing against yours. But you playfully pulled back, giving him a gentle push onto your bed and settling on top of him. "What about that dress I saw at that store I liked and then taking me to homecoming?" you asked, resting your hands on his chest for support. "Whatever my baby wants," he replied, his hand softly resting on your thigh.
Anyone who knew Paul could easily see just how obsessed he was with you. It was almost like you had him wrapped around your finger, ready to do anything you asked. Some might say it was the imprint that caused this, but honestly, he’s always been this way. Back in your younger days, he would often swing by your house just to catch a glimpse of you, frequently using Jacob as an excuse to be close to you.
After he phased, he completely cut ties with Jacob, and it was obvious how much that impacted your brother. Thankfully, he had other friends to keep him busy, so he didn’t dwell on it for too long. You went several months without seeing Paul after that, and once you phased a few days after your brother, you found solace in the chilly embrace of the forest.
Naturally, Sam was quick to find and help you, his surprise clear as day when he realized you weren’t a guy. He offered you comfort, a sense of belonging, and friends, taking you to Emily’s house where the rest of the pack had gathered. You stepped into the house wearing only Sam’s oversized jacket, which he generously lent you after you transformed back into your natural form. Your scratched and dirty feet barely grazed the cabin floor, and your bruised knees were hard to miss as Emily guided you to her bathroom.
That’s when you caught sight of him, Paul, and it felt like the world around you just froze. The moment was electric, leaving a mark on both of you. No one really got how a female werewolf operated, and being the first of your kind made you a crucial ally for Sam. If more female werewolves were to come into the picture, you’d be there to help them, just like he had helped you navigate your own struggles. Sam often wished he could have done more for you, but to you, Emily was more than enough, and now with Paul by your side and a community that included your brother, you felt stronger than ever.
"You’re so incredibly sweet to me," you said, leaning in to give him a gentle kiss. He smiled and placed his hand on your lower back. "Like I said, anything you want, babe," he replied as you pulled back and sat up straight on him.
(Later During Day, Jacob’s Backyard, Bonfire Night)
"Are you sure this is okay? I really hate being an uninvited guest at parties," Bella said as she strolled next to Jacob, making her way to his backyard. "Actually, you’re crashing a council meeting. Just take a look around. The council leaders, my dad, Quil’s grandpa, and Sue Clearwater are all here. She stepped in for Harry after he passed away," Jacob explained, nudging Bella to focus on what was in front of them.
"Okay, maybe I shouldn't be here after all," Bella said, feeling her nerves kick in. "You're good. They thought it would help you to learn about the tribe's histories," Jacob replied with a nonchalant shrug. Bella pressed on, "The tribe's histories? Aren't those meant to be kept secret?"
"If I had known, I would have picked a better outfit," Bella started, but she was interrupted by a tall, lanky boy who walked over, his eyes locked onto Jacob with those puppy dog eyes. "You finally made it! Paul has been gobbling up the food, but I saved you a couple of burgers. Y/N even brought stuff for s'mores!"
"Thanks for the heads up! Bella, this is Seth Clearwater, Leah’s younger brother. He’s the newest member of the pack," Jacob introduced, as Seth’s excited gaze shifted from Jacob to Bella. "The newest, the greatest, the brightest," he began, but Jacob jumped in with a grin, "and the slowest." With a playful move, Jacob put Seth in a headlock, ruffling his hair as they both laughed until a whistle caught their attention, prompting Seth to lead Jacob and Bella over to the circle.
"Our magic comes alive as they draw near," Jacob's father continued the story, bringing it to an end. "We can feel it now, the danger running through our veins. A terrible force is looming ahead. We all need to brace ourselves. Every single one of us." While Leah rested her arm on her brother's shoulder, Paul turned to you, your eyes locked on the bonfire, its warm glow illuminating your face as Jake held Bella's hand, trying to ease her worries.
There you were, surrounded by the wolf pack and Bella, all huddled around the crackling bonfire. "Who’s ready for some s'mores?" you asked, holding the bag of marshmallows in your lap. Paul had his arm casually draped over your shoulders, insisting you wear his jacket to stay warm. It might seem a little silly for a werewolf to feel chilly, but he loved being the helpful one, so you just went with it.
"Did you pack the graham crackers and chocolate?" Seth asked, his mouth practically watering at the thought. Paul dug through his backpack and pulled out those goodies for Seth, who was sitting with the group and ready to share. "Time for s’mores and ghost stories!" Jared exclaimed, rubbing his hands together in excitement. "Ghost stories?" Bella chimed in, glancing around a bit nervously, now wrapped in Jacob’s jacket. Emily was the only other one wearing a jacket, Sam’s, as they both felt the chill in the air.
"It’s a tradition among the pack," Embry said with a playful grin at Bella. "Unless you’re too scared," Jared chimed in, trying to give Bella a little scare with his smirk. "Of course I’m scared. I’m not exactly into creepy stories or horror movies," Bella shot back, shaking her head as Jacob gave her a reassuring pat on the back. "Come on, Jared, stop teasing her. You know your stories are the worst," Emily jumped in.
"We're skipping the spooky stories today because I've got this with me," Sam said, reaching behind him to grab his guitar and settling it on his lap. "How about you play us something?" you suggested, your words a bit muffled as you popped a marshmallow into your mouth and casually rested a leg on Paul’s thigh.
Sam kicked off the instrumental of a well-loved song that everyone in the pack instantly recognized, a melody that truly brought you all together. It was White Winter Hymnal by Fleet Foxes. As you savored the last bit of marshmallow in your mouth, you couldn’t help but join in on the chorus, gripping Paul’s hand while Embry and Quil stomped their feet, creating a lively rhythm.
Bella looked around, soaking in the pure joy that lit up everyone’s faces. There was a real sense of community here. While it might not compare to the centuries-long lives of vampires, it was lively and warm, something she had always treasured. In this moment, she found herself wondering if she could trade her life with the vampires for that of the werewolves.
I set out to write a fanfic that really highlights how being a werewolf can be just as fulfilling, if not more so, than being a vampire. I wanted to capture the strong sense of community and the deep bonds that form within the wolfpack. I’m sorry for not including more Paul x Y/N moments, I kind of lost track of the story. I really hope you still enjoyed reading it! Sorry for being a bit inactive guys, I will try my best to write as I can.
