i’d like to apologize for that. i’ve been busy with work and, with legendaries being available in pokemon go, i’ve been hyperfocused on that too 

i’ll be going to a water park and going on more hunts for the next few days, and i’ll actually be without internet later this weekend- 

It wasn’t her first time being a target? The surface must be in shambles if that’s the case! And here he thought that everything was peaceful and beautiful with the occasional weirdo that’s fascinated with those odd cartoons. Was she a fugitive, then? Is that why she was there?

No, no. There was no time to point fingers. For the time being, he was going to be her best friend. She should feel grateful– blessed, even.

Upon hearing her ask who he was, Mettaton took the opportunity to strike a pose with his leg sticking dramatically up in the air. It was always fun for him to brag about himself every now and then. Although, if he had it his way, he’d be gloating every two hours or so.

“You, my dear, are in the presence of the Underground’s most fabulous superstar! Most monsters call me Mettaton, but I’ll be accepting of almost any nickname you’d like to give me. And who might you be?”

He lowered his leg while simultaneously climbing off of his high horse for the time being.

“Oh, you’ve caught me! How smart you are, darling. You see, I’ve always wanted a human fan, and I just can’t help but be kind to the only human I’ve ever seen in all my months of being famous. Can you really blame me for being so friendly?”

     The robot’s personality took a rather dramatic turn, especially with the suddenly raised leg. Noire had to give him credit that it was a nicely shaped leg, though. 

     Her expression became less defensive, more... surprised. Was that really all he wanted from her? To be his human fan? At least he was upfront about it, which left her more open minded to the idea. 

     “Huh,” She said with newfound interest. “I’m Noire... it’s a pleasure to meet you Metta.” Her friendly smile had returned from earlier. “I suppose it’s not a big deal... You’re pretty funny, and I do like those who can make me laugh, so I’ll consider being your fan,” She teased with a shrug of her shoulders. If he was having fun, why wouldn’t she join in?

    How long had the pup been in the base? It couldn’t have been in there for too long, he would have noticed it before if it was longer than just that day. Perhaps she picked it up during the off time from missions that day.    Still, it didn’t excuse the fact she had a pet. Very few were allowed pets, and a scientist who was still under suspicion from Overwatch was not one authorized for such a thing.    “You found it?” Reaper’s tone continued to be flat, arms crossed over his chest, “And brought it into the base despite knowing it was no allowed, or did you opt to remove yourself from the rules for it’s sake?”    It was difficult–to say the least–not to break down to take up the little pooch and cuddle it. Damn that love for small dogs not going away with most everything from Gabriel Reyes that didn’t pertain to fighting.  His eyes never left the dog, internally fawning over the small fluffy creature.

     Shit, he was doing that thing where he crosses his arms and judgement just radiates off of him. Her expression turned more into an ironic ‘guilty dog’ look, the puppy occasionally wiggling in her arms. He didn’t seem to be very happy with his discovery- then again, she hadn’t really seen him happy before. Seeing his face would help, but she wouldn’t push that either. Too many risks outweigh the benefits. 

     Exhaling softly, her gaze drifted between Reaper and the fluffy dog in her arms. “Both...?” Noire said, as if she was unsure of the right answer here. 

     “Look, you gotta know one important thing about me: I would risk torture, or even death if it meant saving a dog from off the streets. I don’t care what you or anyone else will to do me over this little secret. I don’t want the dog to come to harm. It’s that simple.” 

    Odd sounds were common, coming from rooms within the Talon base. They had an odd array of agents that spent their time mostly at base, some in the main rooms other spending their time in their rooms. No matter the place there was voices, sounds from various videos and games, and other sounds Reaper would rather not listen to.    It was easy to tune the sounds out for Reaper–it was just white noise to him. Yet… the sound of… barking was not quite the usual around the base. Reaper stopped dead in his tracks when a yip came from one of the rooms. Noire’s room. What was it now?    He wasn’t one to knock nicely, instead inviting himself inside her room to find what he had expected.    Noire was there, sitting on her bed… with a small puppy running wonky circles around her letting out playful barks, “What is this…?” He kept his voice stern, trying to withhold the want to coo at the small puppy.

     Noire had tried her best to keep the puppy quiet, but the little thing decided that it was time to play. He gnawed on her knuckles, and she found herself giggling instead of trying to diffuse the pup. She found it earlier that evening, wobbling and panting from dehydration, and most likely hunger. His fur was messy, but surprisingly soft to the touch, and he had two cute perky ears that would swivel around on his head. 

     She didn’t hesitate to bring him back into the base, making it her priority to be secretive. She actually managed to get him back to her room without catching attention. After she rinsed him off, warmed him up, gave him food and water, she sat with him on her bed and watched as he regained his energy. 

     Though, here she sat, the puppy growling playfully as he would trip over himself running all around and across her- and none other than Reaper lets himself in to crash the party. 

     The air immediately became tense, Noire looking like a deer in caught in headlights. “Shit,” She cursed, suddenly scooping the silly pup into her arms. 

    Amélie was… careful in bringing Noire to her home. Normally she would have left her prey someplace where someone would find them and they could be taken care of. For Noire, however, she felt it appropriate to indulge herself a little bit. The night was still young, and it seemed that her bite had affected her a little more than she had intended. Such a result wasn’t necessarily a new thing, but she wasn’t bothered by it in the least. 

    As soon as Noire stepped away from her to unlock the door, Amélie stepped closer to her from behind and brought her fingers up to pry away the fabric of her clothing. She leaned in and placed a small, but warm kiss to the back of her neck. Trailing away from the first kiss, she placed additional kisses along her skin, even kissing the bite mark she had left behind that had yet to fully heal. With a soft sweep of her tongue, she lapped up the blood that had pooled on her skin.

    Once she heard the door unlock and felt Noire push the door open, she would snake her arms around her waist and gently push her inside of her home. With her foot, she pushed the door shut and tugged onto her waist, turning them both so she had the other woman pinned against the front door. Staring down at the other, she grinned at her lust-filled expression as her hand reached up to slowly lock the front door behind them.

    The last thing she needed was for anyone to… intrude on them.

     Her body shuddered at the gentle kisses peppered along the back of her neck. Noire had focused all her attention on how turned on she had become, failing to notice the blood that leaked slowly from Amelie’s bite. Though, in the short quiet moments she had, she couldn’t help but wonder... why didn’t the vampire kill her? Did she intend to keep her around and play with her past this incident?

     Noire allowed herself to be guided through the entrance to her home, feeling slight comfort in the arms around her waist. She should be alert, scared, trying to escape! And yet, she was already too deep into Amelie’s charm. She didn’t want to run or escape. Sure, she still felt fear underneath the heat, and yet... that only served to excite her more. 

     With the door being shut behind them, everything began to move fast again- this time, however, it felt good. Noire whined as the other pressed their bodies together, once again being backed up against a wall.

    Umi and Kawa trilled happily on their new perch, looking to their human with pride. Was he happy with them? They made a new friend!    He once again shook his head at the two: yup, majestic creatures that loved to make friends and try to get him to be more social to other humans.    “I have had them for most of my life,” he turned his focus to her, giving a small weary smile, “they are passed down from my family for generations as guardians,” he rolled his shoulder a bit before moving to show the tattoo of the dragon coiling around his arm, “They became mine at a young age, and have been with me ever since.” Fondness was thick in his voice: every since then–the darkest moment of his life–Kawa and Umi were there for him, comforting him when nobody else was there, their soft chattering keeping him from losing his mind.     To say they were precious to him, more than just guardians of his family, was an understatement. 

     Noire raised her eyebrows as he explained the origin of his dragons, genuinely interested in their background. Her petting movements slowed as she glanced toward the newly exposed tattoo. Does that mean he had the tattoo since he was a child? 

     She quickly discarded the thought from her mind for fear of sounding strange. Their origin did sound a bit mythical, if not endearing in its honesty. 

     “That’s really cool!” Her voice practically chimed with admiration. “It’s always nice to know that someone- or something- is looking out for you. I’ve grown up with more... normal pets, but they’re like a furry friend to lay your head on. They never judge you for what you say or what you do, offering unconditional love no matter what.”

     Noire opened her mouth to speak, yet nothing came out. All she could do was sit there, jaw slightly agape as she tried to work out how to respond to that in a somewhat appropriate way. 

     “I see,” She began, tilting her head to the side as her arms folded across her chest. Her expression was less disturbed than it was perplexed and sickeningly curious. Brown hues looked up at the artificial gaze of the other. She bit the inside of her cheek upon hearing the pet name, sighing and relaxing her stance again. 

     “Well this isn’t my first time being a target, whether that’s good or bad,” She mused aloud, easing into the other’s reassurance. For someone who joked about dying so much, she never liked it when she could potentially face that reality.
