i first watched a youtube play through of night in the woods when i was wayyy too young (like 11) to truly grasp the story. Its been almost nine years since then and i am playing it for myself for the first time. never before in a game have i been wrought with such an indescribable feeling of melancholy whilst playing. something about possum springs reeks of a defeated, self-pitying nostalgia that takes me straight back to my home town. I walk more than i run in night of the woods. it feels wrong, inappropriate even, to disturb the glacial sadness of the autumn streets - i feel an immense urge to revere every little interaction, every small chat with a stranger, every walk up church hill, every trip back up to mae's bedroom. I am loving every moment, but somehow, i feel incredibly mournful for something i cannot name. I can't wait to rediscover the story i have long since forgotten
just finished my play through. i will love this game forever take this dumb image i made in light of charli's new generator site lol

for a moment i lived in the universe where the third text, as of when i set my phone to do not disturb, was unsent. an unknown. a schrodinger's notification that my imagination could wrap itself around. it could theorise, it could hope, it could delude, it could self-indulge. the 10 minutes felt like 20, every video on my feed was uninteresting as the thought of what and how much you couldve been saying continued to pester me. curiosity and an unbareable anxiety wells in my chest and i cave. I get up. You've continued. 7 messages, line by line and unlike my fantasized block of text, wholly unrelated. A pleasant read for sure, just not what I had envisioned. My chest still hurts.

In Other Waters - A testament to 'vision'
I just finished my play through of In Other Waters and it is a game i will not soon forget. I think one of the best indicators of quality and love in a project is it's adherence to an artistic vision, it's own identity.
it’d be nice to like that warmth, of something so deterring. to find familiarity in such a foul thing.
and to be taught how, by you, would be the greatest pleasure.
there’s a beautiful place.
It lives in the fleeting moments between a late night scroll and the chill of reality.
On your decent down from the digital noise, you have still yet to collect your baggage and you can float freely without its weight
The bliss of ‘I don’t have to worry about that right now’ lingers in the air just long enough for you to notice, and in so doing, condemn it.
These weights are heavy, can I leave them here? I promise I’ll pick them up later, but I just want to rest my arms a while.
despite my knowing of your response, I am compelled to ask anyways.
I don’t know how or when we are going to talk about it but I don’t see anything changing regardless - we can only stand on the opposite side of the wall we built and wave
close enough to be seen and never known
Wii fit is weirdly a game i hold very dearly, in my child hood i devoted numerous hours both to it and its Wii U successor. I've had a very funky morning so idk why but i cried when i heard this, i think to the point of realizing finally what i means to truely feel nostalgic for a thing or time. thank you nintendo for touching my life so deeply. and thank you to Scruffy as well, this perfect arrangement feels like the natural conclusion/finale version of this track. I forget if this game had a credits minigame but i would hope this version retroactively plays there. It sounds like a joyous send off for both the 'Wii' series games themselves and also nintendo's affiliation with the Wii era charm & design outlook.

Carpal Tunnel - My analysis of Typewrite Lesson
The final track from Cornelius' 1998 album Fantasma, "Typewrite Lesson", perfectly captures the cycle of learning, advancement, mastery and eventual monotony. The songs position as a closing track suits relates to its commentary on the nature of routine and how we can often be left uncertain of our next steps once they are disrupted. Through sound, we are taken on a journey where we see a learner, guided by an instructor, slowly develop, realise and eventually become victim to the overutilisation of their skills.
i stand at the shore of your conversation. tidal chatter, rises and falls between you both. underwater though, a hot bubbling rises, but fails to break the surface tension. warm ripples wash over my feet. i wish i were an ice cube.
