Over 300 years ago, an event called the Shattering nearly destroyed Kilarien's home world of Ta'reh; but five powerful magickal beings who came to be known as Shields stepped in to save Ta'reh from destruction by linking their very life force to the planet's.

Now the strange meteors which heralded the beginning of the Shattering have begun to fall once again...and one of the five Shields has died under mysterious circumstances. Can Kilarien and his friends find what's behind these strange happenings and stop their world's destruction before it's too late?

This is probably the most ambitious piece I've attempted in a LONG time! Fun fact: before junior high, ALL I ever drew was horses (and unicorns, pegasi - anything tangentially related to horses). It's truly how I started my drawing obsession, but I really haven't drawn horses for...maybe about 20 years. 😱

This is also my first finished portrait of Kilarien, one of my protagonists from my book, The Second Shattering. Although that book is completely drafted, it won't be published until after the Exsilium trilogy...as it really needs to come after that series. (I know, I did these things in a funky order.)

At long last - I've done it! I think I've finally managed to create a fairly ~aesthetic~ Instagram page. This has been LONG in the making!
