A Monster Who Loves Creatures

So you go to a planet looking for something. The first time you are there one of the native population, a witch, comes out and tells you to leave. Keep in mind before this point Cal (protagonist) and his crew have already talked snidely about Nightsisters (the matriarchs of the people) because they're witches (and, according to jedi, they aren't using magic, the idiots, it's the force 9.9) Cal does not listen and when he forges ahead you kill a shit ton of Nightbrothers, and again it's a matriarchal society so they work for the Nightsisters. Then you can't get any further and you leave.

When you return, the Nightsister once again tells you to leave, which you ignore. Eventually you meet up with her again and she tells you that she's been told that jedi are all bullies and thieves. Cal is briefly confused but does not actually try to engage, instead acting like a snide asshole. She then uses her magic to resurrect her fallen sisters to get revenge. Revenge is huge in their society btw, every time you kill a Nightbrother the others briefly mourn and then shout that they'll avenge their brother.

THEN you invade the village where the Nightbrothers actually fucking live and you slaughter your way through them to get the thingy you want. You know, instead of trying to talk about it or bargain for it or any number of other things.

Then you steal climbing claws off a dead brother in a chamber with a huge bat-like beat that you end up killing. This is significant for a few reasons. 1) You're stealing from a dead body, so the Nightsister is already more then justified in her accusation. 2) This body is from someone who came to this area to complete a trial. Seems shitty, at the least, to steal from someone who was engaging is something that is important on their journey in growth. I know Cal would have a conniption if someone stole a lightsaber from a dead jedi. 3) You kill this beast, which is part of the trial that the brothers have been engaging in for a very long time. Note that none of them actually killed it, which means they weren't trying to. It's an important part of the trial. 4) Once you injure it enough, it retreats, but then comes back later to kill, specifically, you. This is not animal behavior, this is intelligent being behavior.

The entire time, Cal is commenting about how disgusted by this culture he is. There's a sacrifice ritual, well that brother must have been used as an example and that's sick. The brothers respect physical strength in each other, wow what primitives! (Nevermind that they live on a planet actively trying to kill them at all times.) Etc.

At the end of the whole thing there is minor accountability, but you get what you want so it ultimately doesn't matter that you've slaughtered your way to this thing.

Also notable that this "primitive" society is run by women who use magic and boss around men. HMMMMMMMMMMMMM
