Will Shaw didn’t have such a terrible childhood at first. He was loved and cared for well from infancy, but things changed when he turned five. Most people tend to forget things early on in their childhood, but the same couldn’t be said for Will. Originally from a town just outside Nottingham in the United Kingdom, the unexpected greeted him and his father which was a far cry from joyful. His mother left to move across the world without warning. As a result of being in such a fragile state from his wife’s sudden departure, it didn’t take long for his father to pack up and move the two of them to the States to bring her back. 

Answers. I just want answers, mate. Why did my mum leave us? Why did my dad leave me? Was I not good enough?

Elf, probably. It can be boring halfway through and in some parts at the beginning, but it’s my go-to holiday movie if I need a good laugh. 

I don’t remember playing in the snow much as a boy. I do find white lights rather nice, but I like the multi-colored ones more as they don’t remind me of my mum and dad. Always a fan of hot chocolate. If I ever have the Christmas spirit to put a tree up, I tend to go with the artificial ones. I don’t have much time to care for a real tree.  

A knowing smile crossed his lips then and he chuckled, nodding briefly. “Thought that might be an idea,” he smiled, not surprised at all. Will was a good kid and he just needed to have someone around that would remind him of that fact, and remind him that he was worthy of the attention. Robert had only ever wanted Will to be the best version of himself and he would continue to do all he could to make that happen.

Nodding, he wouldn’t judge the lad for that. “Do you need a hand giving it a tidy up?” he offered, sure Will would say no but still willing to offer. “We can grab a few sides too, I’m sure Lacey will be happy to see you. And pinch your pizza,” he smiled knowingly, aware she would indeed. 

Will appreciated the offer in having an extra set of hands to help clean up his mess, but the last thing Will wanted the man he viewed as a father figure to see the mess in question. He blamed the reason for keeping everything so untidy due to being busy at Walrus & Co. “I’ll be fine, thanks. I have some extra time off this week and I can work on it. I doubt you’ll want to see the hell hole of a place I live in right now.” Being able to get away from his apartment sounded much better to him right now anyway. 

I went from being abandoned and bitter to accepted and loved. 

The first Christmas after I met Robert. I hated Christmas for years before that and he just welcomed me into his life without hesitation. I’ve never met anyone like that before. I-- I never thought I’d have someone in my life like that.

He looked towards the young man, smiling as he nodded. He could tell something was wrong and he could hazard a guess as to what that was. Patience though, that was what he would employ. “How long have you had those leftovers?” he asked him with a lightly teasing tone. He knew Will too well sometimes, and he teased him as he fell in to step beside him.

“Pizza. That sound alright to you?” he asked, pausing a moment for Will’s answer. “We can either grab food to take back to your place, or we can eat in somewhere. I’m open to suggestions.” He liked to give Will ideas and suggestions to show he was putting in the thought and effort to spend time with him, but also liked to leave it open for him to

Despite the state he was in as they walked, Will managed to smile in amusement at the comment regarding his leftovers.He was a decent cook but not the best at consuming leftovers in a timely fashion. “Well... maybe I should throw those leftovers out.” Robert always managed to get a smile or laugh out of him when Will needed it the most. 

Just the ones I’m close with. I don’t trust easily so it can be hard fo me to put myself out there, you know? But Robert, Lacey, and Wyatt tend to be the ones I spend a lot of time with over Christmas. 

His anger for being abandoned and the holiday as a whole made it nearly impossible to finish the beer in hand. After only drinking half of it, Will paid for the bill and left Roni’s Bar with his hands in his coat pockets.

I— I don’t know. Belle has her heart back and walked towards the Dark One and— I think I’m losin’ her. 

Why would I confess that in public for him to hang it over me head some more? Yeah, alright, mate... I did. That's probably not me best choice of words.

Because nothing is happening to bring an end to these horrible deaths. If I can gather the evidence I know is there, maybe I can help bring all of this to an end. I can’t just sit by and wait for someone else to die.

November 14th-15th

Will couldn’t figure out where his sudden anger and frustration came from. Was it the lack of answers from the police and FBI not putting an end to these heinous crimes? His own parents not believing he truly changed? Or a bit of both? If he put his curiosity about witchcraft to good use to bring enough evidence forward, he could give the authorities what they needed to finally put an end to this madness. Ana, however, discouraged this idea as they enjoyed dinner together. 

“What you’re saying is crazy! You know what those people are capable of and I don’t want my boyfriend to be their next victim. Don’t go out there, Will. Don’t go out alone. Please.”

“I have to help somehow. I just know the people at the compound are responsible for all this. If I can find what I need there to prove it, we won’t have to live in fear anymore.”

They argued in the kitchen only for Ana to burst into tears, and for the first time since their relationship began, Ana confessed how much she love him. 

“I love you. I don’t want to lose you. Don’t go.”

Will couldn’t remember the last time he heard those three words and his heart raced. How did he get so lucky to date someone who saw him as hero and not a thief? As someone who loved him for who he was and not who he used to be? Still, Will couldn’t let this go and not do the right thing, so he had every intention to find the evidence. As Will drove her home and walked her to the front door, Will reciprocated those words and departed from her with a kiss. Little did he know that was the last time he’d ever see the love of his life again. 

Back at his shared apartment with Booker, Will paced back and forth in his room with his third beer in hand as he tried to come up with a plan of action. It was half past nine when he finished writing a note for Booker and snuck out of the flat. Despite having second thoughts and having to overcome them, he somehow made it to the compound just as 10 o’clock hit in his drunken. There was no turning back now... 

After climbing the fence of the compound, Will was in shock to see how normal everything looked. “Who are these people?” He was in such a state of shock that he had let his guard down while walking closer to the sight before him. His first mistake was heading for the compound while not remaining vigilant was his second, and such a mistake would cost him his life. 

A mysterious stranger had approached him from behind and Will tried his best to defend himself. He was risking his life to try and save others. He was, after all, a firefighter and risked his life daily. He rebuked the idea of this being his demise knowing full well the odds were against him. He fought and while making one final attempt to call Ana on his cell phone, the mysterious stranger had overpowered him. 

All he could think about during his final moments was Ana as the stranger brought about a slow and painful death. When the afternoon of November 15th arrived, his body was finally discovered strung up with his arms and legs spread wide. A message was also carved into his chest that said ‘stay out’.
