I'm still trying to decide whether to keep this blog open or not now that the group is closing. If you have any opinions on the matter, make them known now or forever hold your peace.

Well, dogs are more affectionate than most other pets, generally speaking. About Dalmatians vs. other dogs, I like that Dalmatians are intelligent and active. Some of them can be rambunctious, but fortunately Pongo is one of the calmer ones.

I like listening to music and reading, often both at the same time.

There’s something to love about every part of the day, but I guess my favorite part would be when Pongo and I go for our morning walk. I enjoy being out in the brisk morning air, watching the sun rise, greeting all my friends and maybe stopping to have a few words or a cup of coffee at Granny’s. It’s a great little ritual. I wouldn’t change it for the world.

I love reading Jazz Age books like The Great Gatsby, Tales of the Jazz Age and Tender Is the Night by F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway, The Green Hat by Michael Arlen, etc. I think it would have been a very interesting time to be in this world, especially for the young, liberated women.

I remember being a happy child, very precocious, with attentive parents and good grades in school. My parents expected a lot out of me, and honestly, I expected a lot out of myself, too. They supported me when I entered school with no idea of what major I wanted or what I wanted to do with my life, and were proud of me when I eventually graduated with my PhD and became a psychiatrist. It’s more vague impressions than full memories, but it’s the past I believed in for 28 years. In a way it’s as much a part of me as my real past back in the Enchanted Forest.

Keep busy. Engage yourself in work, school, reading, journaling, hobbies, whatever will help take your mind off things for a while, while the wounds are still fresh. Don’t rush into another relationship right away, or it’ll probably end up just being a “rebound” relationship. Instead, I think this is the time for you to be completely selfish; spend time alone with yourself, get to know who you are and what you enjoy doing. Learn to feel comfortable in your own skin and comfortable with being alone, if you’re not already. Then if you find someone else, great, but you won’t feel like you “have” to have someone in order to feel happy or complete.

After hearing what he did, I can’t say I’d blame Belle for forcing him out. I’m very disappointed in him; I honestly thought he had changed. I hope he understands how much he hurt her and how he ruined the life he had worked so hard to build for himself. If he ever does manage to return somehow, I hope it’s as a much more humble (and truthful, and less manipulative) man.

Now there’s a question I’ve never had before. As much as I would love to have been able to travel this world, I wouldn’t ask for false memories of doing so to be implanted. That would just be lying to myself.

Even with all I’ve been through I don’t think I would trade lives with anyone… unless if it was maybe for a day, just so I could walk in their shoes a while and see how they see the world. That might be interesting to try. I think it would’ve been interesting to be Regina for a while, but before the first curse broke. She was such a different person then. It would’ve been interesting to get to know how she thought and felt at the time. I think a lot of what she did back then was really out of fear and desperation.

While I admit a certain curiosity as to the rituals and routines women go through for beauty, I have no plans to try it myself.

I used to celebrate the day I brought him home as if it were a birthday, but now I know all those memories were a lie, I haven’t been keeping up with that tradition anymore. Maybe I should reinstate it?

Unfortunately, that’s a no from me, anon. I have no interest in taking over anything.

I would suggest if you want an unusual gift, give her something homemade. It doesn’t have to be anything extravagant; maybe cook for her or if you’re crafty, make her a jewelry box. If you don’t know how to make a gift yourself, you could commission someone to paint her portrait, or maybe find her something Kitschy in a vintage shop. Of course, those are just ideas; you obviously know her better than I do. You can easily adapt those suggestions to suit her tastes, or they may spark your own creativity. I’m sure whatever you decide will be perfect.

Maskers? I’ll be glad to give an opinion as soon as I find out what that is. Let me Google… Gosh, that is an unusual hobby. I’ll have to do more research before I can reach a conclusion as to what I really think about it, though. It looks like it may be related to the people who enjoy dressing as dolls…
