Truthfully, I’ve been considering joining yours, if anything because I do care about you dear, but there are other guilds I’ve been considering joining, too.”

The guard rested his chin on her crown, his gloved right hand fingers trailing through her hair, his other on her back. “Aye, they aren’t. It’s a shame, really. Some of those people just deserve the rest they believed in.”

Her eyes opened wide. “My afterlife, too? I…” Poison said, taken aback by what he said. “I…I didn’t know that. I think…I think I need some more time to consider which guild I’d join, then.” 

Luke smiled again, drumming his fingers on her hip. "I just felt you ought to know is all," He said, wishing he could kiss her lips. "Take your time thinking about it, you don't want to get caught in fine print."

"Oh well," she shrugged and continued to sip her water. "I’m glad that you like the coffee. I think there are other guilds who would benefit from it, too, plus once your fellow guard returns to duty he’ll be quite thankful," Poison smiled and leaned on his arm a little bit.

Luke’s eyes widened some, putting his arm around her. The guard squeezed her shoulder. “Really now? Joining a guild is a big deal on Ravinca, miss.”

"Thank you, Luke," Poison said, smiling happily at the compliment. "Oh, that’s awful to hear! I do hope he gets well soon. Some soup would do wonders," she commented to hearing about the change in shift.

"Oh, I’m sure he’ll be fine," the off-duty guard said, leaning back with a smile. "And thank you, the coffee was a great addition to my patrol."

"Oh well," she shrugged and continued to sip her water. "I’m glad that you like the coffee. I think there are other guilds who would benefit from it, too, plus once your fellow guard returns to duty he’ll be quite thankful," Poison smiled and leaned on his arm a little bit.

"No, I didn’t know that," Poison said calmly. "I’ve been alright, recently. I’ve begun testing potions and a really woody coffee flavor. Right now it’s a bit overpowering but I think one more test will get it right."

"The usual guy cam down with some really bad sickness. I’d been telling him to not date that Simic micromancer, but nooo, Jerry had to go and contract some experimental super virus." Luke shook his head slightly, addressing her question first. "ANd thank you for the coffee, the boys really enjoyed that last energy blend, very much so actually."

The guard smiled from beneath the helmet. “I do my best to look nice for these things. Status quot, eh?” He chuckled again, not unlike the baron. “It’s sort of an Orzhov costum, ya know? I can see you follow it, too.”

The baron and his guard stood in front of the new building, the outside looking to be the absolute wealthiest house in the guild. in the start of what a person would call dusk, the undead nobleman held a parasol in one hand, an envelope in the other.
