Journal Entry: October 31st, 2015 (Halloween)

My friendship with Orpheus the cave spider has been progressing steadily, and we hang out pretty regularly now. He’s a real wiz at making silk fabric, and from time to time I dye whole bolts of the stuff for him to trade; it’s not like I was doing much else with my surplus of flowers - you can only go through so much ink in a year.

Since Halloween was coming up I asked Orpheus to join me in celebrating. At first he told me he kinda’ hated the idea since people used it as even more of an excuse to be creeped out by his visage (poor poor soul), but Miraka talked him into at least dressing up with me. She always liked the clothes from Assassin’s Creed, and Orpheus and I had little disagreement with all the nice red prominent in the outfits. What the spider DID have quarrel with was how clothes feel over his fur. Needless to say, even though thanks to the breathable material he didn’t exactly overheat, he did still feel uncomfortable. I dunno’, I liked it. I liked the hoods best, it felt a bit like wearing my poncho that way.

Either way, we looked EPIC.

At the very least I was still able to treat Orpheus to some candy apples later on. That’s the only sweet thing he actively tolerated (but more candy for the rest of us, ha!).

Story: Orpheus did for many years not know where he hailed from, but as time went by, that fact did not matter. He made a new life and identity for himself, managed to make a new network of friends, and created a life he could live with. Now he resides in a large cavern inside a mountain, located in the midst of Minecraftia. He spends most of his time researching gene-mutations, trying to figure out what happened to him all those years ago when his cells fused with a cave spider. When he’s not studying his condition, he likes to weave stuff out of his silk, selling and trading them as wares. Personality: Orpheus saw himself as a monster, as a freak. But now that he has gained a human form, he is no longer as scared of what people think. - Human form personality: Mellow, laid-back, soft-spoken, gentleman, kind of a nerd when it comes to gene-mutations, likes to read books and burrow his nose in paperwork. - Monster form personality: Gentle-giant, tries his best not to scare people, enjoys helping others, doesn’t like conflicts and physical fights, enjoys the silent of the darkness but tends to get very lonely.
