Crested Combusken - Open Subspecies

Crested Combuskens are a northern breed, found in icy habitats which are odd homes for fire types. Their environment has developed their plumage to grow thick, while a lack of predators allows many colors (though muted).

Contrary to how most birds are, females are the more vibrant of the two. Males lack the green-blue pigmentation on their crests and tails.

Tyler took a deep breath and let the ashy air calm her. Bring a fire-type, the smoke and soot didn’t affect her breathing as it would have any other Pokemon. She blinked for a moment, trying to collect herself. Ever since she had evolved, she had felt a strange urge to come here…

And with every step she took, the urge grew stronger. Where was she even going? All she knew was the name of the place: Reversal Mountain.She frowned and thought back to how she left. She didn’t want to leave her mother so soon after becoming a Combusken, but…

The urge was like a bad itch she just couldn’t ignore. It still hurt to remember that day…

Wild, Ability: Speed Boost

Presumed extinct in the wild, enthusiasts have been working to preserve the Wild type torchic in captivity. Skittish and flighty when young, and unruly and willful as an adult, this pokemon is difficult to work with. Despite this, the breed has gained great popularity in the battle circuit in recent years.

Silkie, Ability: Fur Coat

The Silkie’s gentle nature makes it unpopular for battle, but it is often kept as a pet or contest pokemon. It has a strong parental instinct and is often used by pokemon breeders to incubate eggs and care for baby pokemon. The breed is famous for its extraordinarily soft, fur-like plumage and its black flesh and bones. It is also distinguished by its small size and the extra digit it bears on each limb.  

Standard, Ability: Blaze

One of the first pokemon domesticated in Hoenn. A reliable pokemon that performs well in battle due to its strong fighting instinct, but is docile enough to be kept by children.

Showgirl, Ability: Fur Coat

A recently created breed, the Showgirl closely resembles its Silkie ancestor, save for its bald face and neck, and its even smaller size. Despite the name, this breed has the same gender ratio as other torchics.

Malay, Ability: Intimidate

Clarice has mostly been brought up by her father. She is rather reserved, but values the friends she has. She also enjoys astronomy.
