He followed, hooking his arm back into place and rolling his shoulder as he let out a low sigh. Part of him wanted to check on the kids, but he knew it was too late for that, just because he was a fuck up didn’t mean he had to mess things up for them as well. “Don’t call me what?” his eyes looked over to the other, then to the drink in hand, considering asking for one for himself.
Chance knew he should have remembered that, but he had been spending so much time in a haze of trying to stay safe and keep them safe, it was hard to think on anything but their faces. Remembering just what he was fighting for.
It felt like he was fighting a long internal war with the very people he would have once trusted with his life. Worse when he thought that he once had the same mindset as they did. Resting his arms on the table, he thought for a moment, before asking in an almost too shy voice, “can I have a drink?”
Cas gave a soft chuckle, handing over the glass. "You may have been gone a while, but this isn't just my house Chance. And the kids are asleep, but you can go look at them. And we don't call you a fuck up, we call you Dad, sometimes, Mom, cause it's funny." Cas chuckled and gave a soft smile.
"You know, we aren't completely useless. We know how to protect ourselves, your daughter, she's a vampire, just like you. Samuel...well he's not like her, but he does know how to use a bat, that's for sure. And I have my weapons, we can fight for ourselves. You don't have to stay away from us all the time." Part of him couldn't believe he actually said that, but at the same time, he was kind of glad to finally have spoken about it and said something. Though Chance hasn't been home in a long time.
"Are you going to run away in a few hours, or do the kids actually get to see you? And do we have catching up to do, before you get this dick again." He spoke as he pointed to pants. More or less joking with Chance.

Once confronted, Chance quickly halted in his steps, hands held high in surrender. He didn’t want to get hurt and a part of home wondered if coming back was such a good idea. For their safety and his own.
"I - uh - " he honestly couldn’t remember, his mind clouded with so many things. "B-blue?" he cursed himself internally, wondering how he could forget something like that. Part of him wanted to justify it, seeing as he was on the run constantly. He didn’t mean to leave Cas like this, but their safety was more important than his own. He didn’t want his kids to have the same life on the run as he did.
"Look, I - uh - honestly don’t remember. But there is something I have no one else would." He slowly moved the one hand, removing his mechanical arm and setting it down before the other. The hand of it moved even though it was detached from it’s owner. "The arm Asi made for me. One of a kind. No one else would have that. Or know how on our first date you cut up my food for me, how you drove me to the movie, and acted like a perfect gentleman. How you were there for me even though I was a fucked up pregnant vampire."
He turned his gaze downward, shifting from one foot to the other. “Still am a fuck up, and I admit that.”
Cas held his hand to the necklace, watching the arm move. He didn't say anything, just by the way the other smelt he was able to tell who it was. As strange as that probably was, but when you have sex with the man a few times, the smell tends to get stronger.
He looked over at Chance and spoke softly. "It's the same color as your eyes. I told you that it was my favorite color." He grabbed the arm and handed it back to Chance. He wasn't really sure what to do right now, part of him wanted to kiss the other, but at the same time, he wasn't sure if Chance was still the same person or not. He hoped the other was, cause he still loved Chance. The kids still loved Chance.
Cas turned the light switch on and pointed to the kitchen. Heading there without even saying a word, he wasn't sure what to say. He pulled out a glass of orange juice for himself and then turned to Chance, not really sure if Chance wanted an actual drink or not.
"We don't call you that." He spoke softly as he sat down on the stool near him.

Chance couldn’t remember when the last time he saw his family was. Months ago? Years? At one point he stopped his running to be with Cas, but he was off again, on the trail of some asshole hunters.
You’d think they would learn not to mess with Dean Winchester. Not to mess with one of the best hunters in the business.
Not to mess with a vampire who could walk in daylight, and had a metal arm forged by a Goddess just for him.
But no, they kept pursuing him.
He had stopped them for now, lost their trail, killed off a lot of them. Chance had his regrets, but if they were stupid enough to trail him they deserved to die the way they did. And he enjoyed drinking every last drop of their blood.
The matter was if Cas would still want him now.
Chance hadn’t spoken with him in a long time, not wanting to draw the hunter’s to his family. But here he was, taking that chance.
The vampire pushed the door open, entering his own home as he looked around. He should make more noise, yeah, but he just wanted to see. What if Cas moved on? What if his family wasn’t his any more?
He did his best to push the thoughts aside as he went searching for them.
Castiel was laying in the kid's rooms, Sammy on one side, and Lilly on the otherside. He was sound asleep with the kids until he heard the door of the house open and his head popped up. He got out of the kid's room quickly and locked the door and then moved into his room, grabbing the knife he had gone to the store and bought. Dean was gone a lot, so he had to protect himself. He knew dating a vampire wasn't wise, but at the same time he couldn't stop loving Chance.
He walked through the hallway slowly until he saw the shadow of a person, noticing the familiar shape, he spoke softly. "Chance?" His voice was soft, cause he hadn't seen the man in a long time, he wasn't sure what to do with the fact that the kids were now a grade higher from Chance was last here. They had to learn to live with the idea of Chance not coming home again.
"If it is you, then..." He took a moment to think of something only Chance would know. "...what color is the necklace you gave me? Not the chain but the stone on it?" His knife still in his hand, just in case it wasn't Chance. It was a pocket knife, but it was big enough to hurt someone if he needed too. He would never kill, hurt yes, kill no.
