This takes place after "And? What happens next?" with the Stranger. The Long Quiet and the Shifting Mound are gone, but the voices and vessels remain, scattered throughout the Construct. Now, the voices seem to have something new speaking to them.

"We persuaded Cheated to come down... I dunno if it was a good ideaa.."

what have you been up to?

How'd you feel about that?

"So you're the new voice... interesting."

"The Princess hasn't been able to leave, and she's the most interesting thing around."

You flatter me.

"It's the truth. You aren't boring enough to abandon."

I'd kill if you tried to abandon me.

"You'd try."

... new voice, huh? Like how you and the others were when I possessed you?

"Yes."

What did they say?

"They asked why we haven't left."

I've certainly tried! But someone won't let me possess them to see if that works.

"It won't."

It worked every other time. I should force you!

"And yet you haven't."

Maybe I'm not eager to share a body with you again, you chilly little freak.

"And so we are back to square one."

The others have names. You should be called Cold. You're a cold-blooded killer, after all.

"I'm fine with that."

You cannot directly ask questions to the Vessels. However, you can ask a Voice to relay a question! Hero will be the default voice for this task, but others can be chosen. There's no guarantee the Vessel will be open to answering questions, and that might change based on who asks! Voices might also refuse to ask questions: good luck getting Cheated to ask Razor something...

"No one's outside. What if we got all the way here and there isn't even anyone inside either?"

"That's possible, but at least step inside before thinking the worst?"

"You try having shitty luck and being optimistic."

"Knock knock! Anyone home?"

"Look, if there's a blade here, maybe there's a voice or a Princess! We should check out the basement."

"This place looks awful abandoned, though."

"There's a Princess down there. You two have fun."

"Someone less annoying than Contrarian. The bar's rather low."

"Well I hope we find someone fun! Maybe rage boy, he was easy to rile up."

"Only if we don't pick a cabin to go to!"

"Nope! No what-ifs! We're going to that cabin off in the distance, y'see it?"

"Uh- yeah, I guess?"

"Cool! You go get Cheated!"

Hey you talked about "searching trees made of chains" so i guess you were in that wreid fucked up chain-cliff-world-thing. You seemed pretty happy about throwing the blade out on that one, how are you so sure it would have helped you against knives?

(also don't know if this would count as a different question, but could we see the reaction of contra when he learns that cheated suggested to throw the blade?)

"Because at least if I have a blade, I can fight back. The place with all of the chains was weird, and when we had the blade we ended up losing our head. At least when we threw it we made it out in one piece. Being headless didn't feel good."

"Wait, you actually suggested throwing the blade?"

"I didn't suggest it. I just thought it was a good idea."

"You actually wanted to throw the blade?! You! Mr 'how dare you throw the blade'?!"

"The Princess wasn't armed that time! She couldn't stab us!"

"I can't believe it. Hero needs to hear about this. You threw the blade!"

"He already knows! He was there!"

"Oh, you're right, shoot! We need to find someone else, I'm never letting you live this down!"

"If you prefer, it could just be the three of us for a while longer? Eh? Wouldn't that be fun! Three voices against the world!"

"... we need to find someone else."

"Awww, I dunno! I think it's nice, just us three! Three blade-throwing buddies!"

"I'm burying the first blade we find in your chest."

Because if cheated talks about being in Wild then contra could not have been there, but he remembers the route and neither him nor cheated seem surprised that the other talks about that route when they should remember that the other wasn't there.

[This is an excellent question! The logistics of that ARE weird! Basically, this blog is set after an undetermined amount of tlq choosing the "you're on a path in the woods" ending. Every single chapter has been experienced in every possible way. Every voice has seen every ending they could be present for. Normally, they wouldn't remember this, but as they separated from tlq, his expectation that they would eventually remember everything like Hero accidentally let Shifty return ALL of their memories. The more common something was, the more vividly they can remember it]

[Also, normally this would be wayyyyy too much for someone. But these guys ARE still parts of a god. They're from something meant to exist for the duration of the entire universe, they're generally far more durable mentally than people. They may not all like the influx of memories, but they won't have a mental break or something over it]

"And then tried to convince us we were supposed to be together."

"I remember her! It did feel nice to screw Him over by working with her. She was fun when she wasn't eating us! A bit too metaphysical for my taste, though."

"How was it fun to get told what to think?"

"It wasn't too bad, was it? We didn't have to remember how much it hurt to die when we were with her."

"It's close enough with how much he finds funny. It's just about everything I find infuriating."

"How's about we take a few minutes before things escalate?"

"Nothing's fucking escalating!"

"Oh, right! Sorry, Voice! We really need to figure out a name for you. Anyways, yeah! Probably! Though that will make navigating a lot harder."

"We can figure it out."

"Well aren't you being optimistic! Thought I was gonna have to do all the optimism stuff myself!"

"We probably have forever to learn our way around. At some point, we'll be able to tell the cabins apart easily. It's not a big jump."
