Talloran knocked rapidly on Breen's door, looking thoroughly freaked out. They were much paler than usual, which is saying something for the sheet of white paper that they usually were. It was horrible, having to pretend all was well just so they weren't about to get hunted down by a goddamn fake deer. At least some kind of MTFs are out to go and contain it, but God-DAMN that made their heartbeat pound against their chest.

Elias was sitting in his office, doing the paperwork for allowing Aalish to not get contained.
He, her, and Clef had just come back from the whole ordeal, and he hadn't missed having paperwork.
His head snapped up when he heard someone knock on the door of his office, and he let them in, relaxing when he saw it was Talloran.
"Ah, hello, James. How are you..."
He paused, noting how... freaked-out and pale they looked.
"... doing... what's going on?"
Talloran came inside quickly, almost slamming the door behind them as they stood against the door to prevent anything someone in. A drop of sweat dragged down their cheek as they catch their breath, anxiously fidgeting and twitching.

They spat out suddenly, looking as if they were about to faint from fear. No elaboration, just the... problem at hand.
Elias blinked for a moment.
Then, the words registered.
"Wh- what?! How?!"
With a few long strides, he reached the Talloran. He almost started cursing but held back to not agitate the younger researcher even more.
"Ok, sit down."
He said, guiding them to the couch he had in the office.
"And tell me what the hell is going on. Calmly. I'll get you some tea."
I DON'T KNOW!
Talloran almost started to hyperventilate, before Elias grabbed them and guided them to the couch. They sat down, hands in their lap twitching and fighting not to start clawing their arms off.
I-I was doing paperwork, calmly. Right? Right. I hear a weird noise and I look up and--- THERE'S A DEER! W-With forward facing eyes and standing on its hind legs and—
They cover their face with their hands as their head tilts down, clearly freaking out over the entire ordeal.
I— I made sure to not acknowledge it or make eye contact or respond or anything. I left calmly as if I had to deliver paperwork. I–I think I did everything correct, right? RIGHT?!
He nibbled at his lower lip while Talloran wasn't looking—no need to scare them even more. He came back to their side with a cup of warm tea.
"Here, drink. It's your favourite. And yes, James. You did great, kiddo. You can relax now. Did you call for an MTF team already? I can do it for you if you haven't."
His voice was as soothing as he could muater it to be as he guided their hands around the cup of tea, hoping the warmth of the beverage would distract and calm them down.
Talloran nodded quickly as they grasped the cup and shakily pressed it to their lips, taking a sip and trying to calm down— not only for their sake, but for Elias' too. They vaguely remembered that Elias came from Appalachia— which means he had a unique fear of said deer.
I... I did. I called MTF as I ran here. It'll... they'll contain it soon. It'll be okay. It'll be fine.
It felt like they were trying to convince themselves more than Elias, but the tea in their hands was helping a lot. The warmth of the cup, the scent of tea wafting up to their face, the taste of their favorite tea— it was all just enough to make them calm down.

Well, calling it a deer is not exact.
It's... weird, and it gives an uncanny feeling, almost overwhelmingly so.
It lacks antlers and its neck is long, its legs long and crooked. Its build is almost skeletal.
It's staring at you with its forward-facing eyes for a while, before raising on its teo hind legs, baring sharp teeth in a facsimile of a smile
Now, how did a Not-Deer end up in your office? Nonetheless, what did Breen teach you regarding those Appalachian fiends (as he would call them)?
Talloran immediately looked away, feeling their heartrate sky-rocket. They tried to remember everything Breen taught them... aaaand it all fell short. All they knew was to not pay attention, ignore it, and get away soon. They're staring at the door, trying to think of if they could outrun it if they left.
Wait-- no. They couldn't run. Then the not-deer would know that they know it's there. They had to leave normally, as if to give paperwork to pay someone a convenient visit. Yeah. They just needed to deliver some paperwork to-- uh... Breen would probably be the best person to go to right now.
So they grab a bunch of papers (they don't even know what's one there, whether it's blank sheets or paperwork or what-have-you) and start to carefully leave the room. Sweat beads on the back of their neck, trickling down against the collar of their lab coat. Nonetheless, they ignore the not-deer, trying to act normal as they leave and start to speed walk to Breen's office while radioing MTFs about it.
At least they weren't dead yet.
