Goodness, this took me three days to make. Subtitles are on! 

Saxony kinda has become the symbol of ‘right-wingness’ together with Mecklenburg-hindpomerian so saying he would just ignore it would be a bit ignorant. I dont blame you though, it’s a though topic and Hetalia is not realy the show of politics or depth. And well those are some sensitive topics.

While he is annoyed by his state becoming the symbol of right-wing asshats (and by being put on one level with MV, possibly), he is not the type of person to go out and act against it. While he is generally against the AfD and against Pegida, he does not openly protest against them and rather stays quiet while attempting to support other parties in the back. The other states do pester him about it (so do representatives of cities, especially Köln), but he says that he can’t control what his people do and tries to maneuver around the subject, mostly. Part of the way he is acting is also due to him not being too used to the responsibility anymore after not having the possibility to do much about his state for a rather long time. He got used to staying out of politics for half a human lifetime and that still lingers.

Overall, Albrecht as a person is someone who tries to always pick out the raisins from his cake. He doesn’t want to get involved in things that could possibly get messy. In relation to modern Saxony, as a state, he would be part of the (big) percentage of people who say “I am not right-wing, it’s the others!” and as far as I’m concerned, they do appear to be a rather big part of the population overall.

Albrecht as a character is more shaped by life and intrigues at the court as well as the history of the state and less by the stereotypes I’ve found on the different saxon regions. Mostly because the regions change all the time, the stereotypes change depending on the source and on the viewer, etc.

Headcanon accepted, that Lutz is in charge of the trains, cause it’s a freaking nightmare.

“For everyone who does not know, Electorates are the states that are allowed to vote for the future emperor. There are three religious Electorates, Cologne, Trier, and Mainz. The archbishops of those three are the more important Electors, technically. Next to the religious Electorates there are five worldly Electorates (by now. It used to be four).

Each Elector has a certain rank:

The Archbishop of Mainz is the Imperial Arch-Chancellor for GermanyThe Archbishop of Cologne is the Imperial Arch-Chancellor for ItalyThe Archbishop of Trier is the Imperial Arch-Chancellor for Burgundy

The King of Bohemia is the Arch-Cup-bearerThe Duke of Bavaria is the Arch-StewardThe Duke of Saxony is the Arch-MarshalThe Margrave of Brandenburg is the Arch-Chamberlainand the Duke of Brunswick-Lüneburg (or Hanover for short) is the Arch-Flag-Bearer

So yeah, those eight people are like… the important representatives.

And they’re all… Special.
