At first glance an outside observer, Philemon is, without a doubt, the most important figure in the Persona series. The one who grants the Wild Card, and the master of the Velvet Room, he may not be able to interfere directly in the events that occur, but his machinations in the background ensure that everything goes according to his will. As the antagonists of the Persona series represent the worst of humanity, so does he represent the best of it. Even in Persona 3 and 4, where he does not make a personal appearance, his presence is still felt, continuing to represent the will of humanity in a supernatural game.
